This looks like U19 chase by young guns but extra 30 runs from Gul last 4 ovs will kill us.

Pakistan | 4/144 | 32 Overs | Need 143 runs to win from 18 overs | U Akmal 59*, S Butt 34, F Alam 23* | C Mckay 2/24, R Harris 1/23, S Watson 1/41

After 32 Overs | Australia | 3/149 | Pakistan | 4/144 | Pakistan are 5 runs behind

Australia | 6/286 | 50 Overs | S March 83, M Clarke 80, M Hussey 49 | R Naved 2/57, U Gul 2/80, S Ajmal 1/41

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first

How long could he get away with playing that cut stroke

Had to edge it or play on sooner or later

I said in a previous post here that he should stop with these cute cuts agaisnt fast bowlers! one nick and he is gone! at a very crucial time!

Same old subcontinent shot that he tried and failed few times...trying to run it down for a single.

Whatever people are going to say about him throwing it away, that was a very good knock.

Afridi better get out quickly. or do something now, cuz I'd rather sleep than have my hopes played with like they have been so far.

what ever the result..I think selectors will get hint of better players..after this series...

I am sure Fawad, Umar are for the future....Fawad can play a role of Mike Hussey, Bevan in the future...
and Umar will be the bastsman for any bowler in the future,...good luck to both...

I can't believe people here are criticizing Umar.

He played his heart out for his country..whatever happens just give him respect and stop calling him a "50's" player...the kid has just come into int'l cricket.

after all the hard work why play a % shot. Hope he learns quick!! stop being too cleaver

Afridi has a large number of balls to play to so not sure if he can cope with that reallity

Honestly, I will criticize Umar because after all that hard work, he failed to see the game through. All players lack that killer instinct.

Afridi should take it easy for a couple of overs and then start hitting the bad balls (if there is a ball like that for him)

I am not sure because I haven't done that 'experiment' before. :danish

Pakistan | 5/147 | 34 Overs | Need 140 runs to win from 17 overs | U Akmal 59, S Butt 34, F Alam 24* | C Mckay 2/24, R Harris 2/25, S Watson 1/41

How about taking the powerplay right now if he wants to hit harder.

Especially the way he got out. Not playing a full blooded stroke but a chur. That's not good.

Why are you guys getting disappointed, this is Fawad's match he will take us home :P

Best thing that comes outta this game is that we played Fawad instead of Malik... we were gonna lose anyway so no worries there. Hope Fawad makes it permanent to the team

Exactly. He's done all the hard work, why get out like that?

Afridi in we should take the power play if he could score 50 in those 5 overs...

I know you're kidding, but after analyzing, it's almost impossible.

There's no way. He doesn't have the power or the ability to get the gaps.

He'll have to get extremely lucky.
