I jinxed him.
i had typed out a -congratulations Ponting- what a great hundred under pressure... a hallmark of al time great batsman.... and all.
poor guy got out on 99, as long as he was there, Australia had an outside chance. now looks bleak.any way well played Ponting.

Would like to see how many wickets we have given South Africa this series going for the smash.....

Half the credit goes to Smithy. That short cover position specifically for this purpose. Punter got sucked into it.

This game is certainly won by the Saffers, that is until rain intervenes or Australia pulls something out of the hat.

I said earlier with a few early wickets S.A will feel some pressure. However in their defence they've chased down so many totals under pressure lately that you'd fancy if they played positive they should get anything below 250 with ease. Australia are also a bowler down so that doesn't help.

Ponting would have been the first to score a 100 in both innings four times! Didn't know this stat.

Imagine S.A getting a clean sweep over Australia. The most dominant team of the last decade suffers a white wash at home ...... that would be special.

Warne's a pretty frank guy, isn't he? His comment on the SCG loss where they failed to chase 120 odd in the final innings:

We choked!

2 bowlers down really, Lee + Symonds can't bowl because of his knee, Katich has an injured shoulder and can't bowl either.

Drinks, Aus lead by 163. Getting to the stage of an annoying target.

But depends whether Australian day 2 attack is going to show or the Australian Day 3 attack instead.

That was the flattest pitch I have ever seen Australia play on. Well only got highlights here unfortunately.

Pretty sure this was Akhtar and Zahid opening the bowling too.

:)) I will never be offered any post on PP.

SA has no passengers. Every single player is contributing. Hallmark of winnings team. Australia has one too many passengers.

i think Johnson has outscored Hayden in the last 4 tests.he is a good bat. when india toured Australia, he was dismissed only twice, if i am correct. he is very decisive.no half measures.

Heads will roll for this. To let a team of after having them 198/7 and to allow them to score 459 and then to put in a pathetic batting performance. Bye Bye ricky, your going down as the first Aussie captain to lose a series at home after a long time.

Welcome to reality Aussies.

He has a very good technique, good temperament. Potential all rounder.

Has been continually embarassing a few highly rated Aus batsmen.

Muhahaha forecast tomorrow is for rain.....well a chance of rain and thunderstorms...

Australian rain forecast is generally accurate but the draining facilities in the ground are also top class. even if it rains, SA will have enough overs to finish off the test, unless they fall in a heap chasing too quickly. having said that this SA team is way different from their predecessors.

Might have to block up those drains overnight :afridi

Guys don't spoil match threads with ridiculous posts.

Monsee opened a thread about "naive Indians". Look at the posts here :P. Who is naive and immature.

Woeful stuff from OZ. Talk about doing an England and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Jaapies just too good pretty much in all departments - bowling, batting and general captaincy in the field. Smiffy's done well.

But Duminy, Steyn and Harris's knocks on day 2 were the turning point - the bowling just couldn't repeat their day 1 heroics and to let the tail put on 300-odd is just totally unacceptable. Sure Lee wasn't there but he's been a passenger all series, and to play Symmo when he was injured is pathetic. Andrew Hilditch you need to be held accountable!!

All out for 247 with six sessions to get the target. Should be easy if they don't screw up.

Steyn gets 10 and 150 wickets in 30 Tests.

Lead of 182, MJ not out 43.

Should have 8 or so overs to bowl at them tonight, Siddle and MJ have to crank it up and go hell for leather.

Guys watching the match live was Steyn in tears after taking last wicket?

Hey OZ mate how are you? how is Sydney? :)

Take a bow Steyn. Awesome display. Punter did his best. Punter is in a nothing to lose situation. Will he make the life difficult for SA by putting pressure? Warne was good at creating non-existing pressure. With smart captaincy he can send fear down the ranks of Saffers. His field set is extremely important.

Been good mate. Haven't had much of a chance to watch this match as I've been hanging out with friends. How's it all going with you? Still in Pakistan or back in Canada? Hope you're keeping well.

Well Done RSA!

It has been a complete team effort in these two test matches.

Australia has their own cock up jobs chasing smallish totals. Probably they are hoping for the one. I think SA has done decent chasing in Tests more than most countries.

I'm fine Thank You. I'm back in Canada. Studying and doing part time job at the moment.

How are your holidays going?

Where do you study? loll

Lesser known souls like Headley, Agarkar have done some unthinkable things in Australia. Australia must be hoping for one from one of the Australian bowler. First ball.. BANG.. 4!

right. Finally found a decent internet cafe. Anyone got a link ?

Note to all : Don't ever go to Manila..it's a dive. Almost also just got carjacked.
