The Indian's could of asked for the third umpire but they didn't so Symonds stay's

In test cricket, as of now, indians or for that matter no fielding team can ask for third umpire's reference for caught behind decisions or something like these- Dhoni-ponting catch or Symonds catch.

Nope, there is nothing like the fielding team asking for third umpire. The onfield umpire will ask for the third umpire only if he thinks that the catch was not clearly taken and not to confirm for edges. In this case the edge was very clear and audible to everybody, but Bucknor didnt hear it and Indians cant ask the third umpire for an edge.

This game is over I can see Aus now getting 300 thanks to the "CRUSADE" and Indians with the help of the "CRUSADE" against them being bowled out for 150.. This is why it is so hard, matter of fact impossible to beat Aus, it takes more than a good team; the weather, umpiring etc everything has to count otherwise there is just no hope.

Certain rules should be changed. Batsman knows he's out, third umpire knows that as well along with all those watching the game... ironically batsman stays at crease just because one man feels otherwise.

Third umpire need to play more role ...
I would take it in the "part of the game" spirit, but the Australians should never ever talk about walking. "walk and show the sportsman spirit when team is not under pressure" -seems it's their philosophy. Symonds may not be a walker- i don't know- but I remember Ponting's comment after the ODI series when he commented Murali karthik should have walked. he should feel shame when he sees that video again.

Hi guys, impressive stuff by Indians, R.P was right on money, brilliant performance by him. Umpiring? pathetic. I knew that India would bounce back after the lousy performance of the first test. they gotta get these guys out before they reach 300. India gotta win this one.

Cant, Wont, Ever Happen. "CRUSADE" will shield the aussies which should eventually take them to victory.

I stopped watching .I always feel that Bucknor is so anti Indian for some reason .Not an excuse ,but when u play a team like Australia ,we have to get those decisions otherwise it is imposible to fight back.Poor Ishant .

As a neutral I was enjoying the game as the stress is less but the decisions are making it hard. What do I say now? Should India also get atleast one decision in their favor.

I am just happy that Paksitan was not the one playing and not a Pakistani umpire. Actually Pakistani umpire would have done better

Why should we watch this ? It is hurting me badly :(

c'mon man, you are probably the first person on this planet, who has shut down the curtains on the first day of test match. Aussies are no God, they can lose.

Caved

It is over for us not buts or iffs, the "CRUSADE" is on..

poor ishant, that wicket would have meant so much for him :(

poor buckenor, might be difficult umpiring as a blind man. :(

India always expected a big partnership. But not like this. 80 runs in almost no time. Kumble was little unimaginative with his captaincy. As soon as Hogg walked in he should have bowled instead of holding himself back for long time. Ishant bowled well. Symonds a total unfit test cricketer is having time of his life. Even in the last match cleaned up off a noball, then made 44 runs and got out.

[layers on the field. finish your rooh afza

Hogg starts with a 4 and gets his first 50
Aus 218-6

Seems like I have more trust in Indian batting than you Indians, they won't fail again, mark my words. I believe that India can win this game. looking forward to have interesting conversations with you guys on day 4th or 5th. :P

In fact Ponting once criticised when Gilchrist walked in a WC game. he felt a player "walking" might compromise the team's prospects if the team was in a critical situation. But Gilchrist being Gilchrist reiterated that he would walk again even if he is on 99 if he knows that he is out.

And 3rd umpire says not out. Bowler was Kumble and Symonds on 48
Aus 238-6

All 3 commentators unanimously pronounced it was out. Our third umpire pulled a trick out of his bag.

I can only say that Indian team forgets about all this tomorrow when they bat. and when they bowl second time. Stay focused and ignore the media

:)) consistency my friends.
First Benson
Next Bucknor.
Now 3rd umpire.

their opinion counts, not the commentators

which channel has Indian commentator? I am only watching channel 9 but it might be interesting to listen to them. And is Rameez Raja there?

:6: come on guys be a little optimistic

Ponting was wrongly given out when he was set on 55!
So...it is just plain bad umpiring!

India hope of a 2-1 win is all over

wooow thats what happened when we last tuored Aussie i remember second test and ODI series

i remember woolmer (RIP) saying that 29-5 decision went in favour Aussie

Umm he was out before that
SO...if was given not out before WRONGLY and he was given out WRONGLY later......it is plain bad umpiring!!! Not a big conspiracy or crusade vs India!!!

Steve Bucknor ..ofcourse bias and conspiracy .No doubt about that .

What about the triple 100 that he DID not score?? :P

Ponting was 100% out.he nicked it. Ump did not give it when he was 17.
the whole point is, He should not even be batting after he nicked on 17.
we are pointing out that.
if he was correctly given out, there was just no question of the triple hundred at all or the second wrong decision.

why does it become so difficult to even accept that India is the wronged party and Aussies have the advantage of the umpires largesse?

OHH NO ANOTHER WRONG DECISION

6 given which was a four by the third umpire

lol wow Indian gonna loose because of this

lololol
cry babies

I think that leg before was out. It is impossible for a bowler to pick up wickets if a batsman stands right infront and blocks the stump to play sweep shots. Usually umpires are severe for playing across the line cover the 3 stumps completely. But benson coolly denied the appealing. With one main bowler short Indians were made to work harder than they were required to by umpires.

We are getting whipped by Symonds..this is bad..:(

Thanks a lot Bucknor ya moron.. :pissed:

don't u ever learn even after darrel hair ,billy doctorve and co screwing u ? what happened was day light robbery .Even the most biased Aussie fan will agree that .

There is no justification for third umpire committing a huge error .

You have something called a brain.

Please make full use of that before you post. Thank you.

It must be said, however, that Symonds has taken full advantage of the decisions in favor of him.

i am watching the match

and these things are part of the game i am sure there will be few for India too but it will be interesting to see how they make most of it

I am not quite sure Indian oldies can play that well

clear your tearful eyes and move on

best thing to do is try to make a list of excuses right now for the post test match when you visit PAKPASSION you will surely need that list

like you guys had for first test

Lack of preparation
Pitch was too slow
it was an aussie like pitch lol
Got many decision against

Crying on past mistakes? Try to live? Make use of "sportsmen-spirit"?

Sohaib..your posts stopped making sense a long time ago.

Stumps on day 1

7/376

At one stage in today's play Australia were 6/134

There is no point being obsessed with 1 or 2 bad decisions. Think of it as a "life" to the batsman and move on. Must say that Symonds made very good use of his "life" and got a century. Hogg's innings was flawless. There is good bounce in the pitch and Indian bowlers should have created more chances but they failed to do so. On the other hand, Dravid got 2 lives in the 1st test but failed to capitalize on it. This goes to show the lack of depth in Indian bowling.

Cheers.

Good days play. Indians robbed in pure daylight. Though I tend not to make a big deal of wrong calls but that Symond's edge was too obvious. Very poor umpiring. Not much more to it than that.

apart from India deserve symonds wicket, i felt that you guys over reacted

thats it if you hear the commentry on sky sports Mr Ashish the cricket journalist said like he sense they felt hard done and did not move on

but some of my post are of high quality, therefore some poster will find it hard to understand

but no offence at The end of the day i hope Indian should Enjoy thier cricket
and should not think about Draw right now

AND yeah i have sympathy for some of Indian posters

as i myself have gone through this situation

it was against England when we last toured them it was TEST match 3 and Hair was umpiring and i remember Hair not giving 4 caught behind in one session

so my sympathies are with you guys but because its India i have to support aussie
