Bangladesh [330/6] beat South Africa [309/8] by 21 runs in the group stage of the 2019 World Cup

Have you read some of the BD threads here? They say, if you are to live in Lanka, you have to be Ravan .... I don't want to spoil it, but some times try some of the threads with a search option of "Bangladesh". ...... and what is left there is after long, long over time by Mods.

Its is a Pakistani forum, when you have 9 out of 10 BD posters signing up here just to troll ofcourse people will react badly. If your nation is doing well come here and post properly, a lot of us would be interested to know more about how BD changed their cricket. But all some of you lot do is come here and post about how great you are compared to us.

Stop doing that and things will change,

Bangaldesh shouldn’t collapse here.
Just get to 300.
You can win

Shakib's wicket will hurt Bd. They are about to accelerate the inning. Hope Mushi and Mithun playes till 40th over.

Needless ! Didn’t need to try enforce play. It was going good just normal. Yorked himself! Needed the two to bat till late 200!

300 wont be enough. SA bat deep today With Miller and Morris in the side. This pith is tailor made for Miller.

Its BD vs SA thread and its filled with a lot of posts about Pak and its players for some reason.

I think match which this thread is about and is going pretty well should be the topic of discussion.

Bangladesh's highest partnerships in World Cup matches:

142 Shakib-al-Hasan & Mushfiqur Rahim (3rd wkt) vs SA 2019
141 Mahmudullah & Mushfiqur Rahim (5th wkt) vs ENG 2015
139 Tamim Iqbal & Mahmudullah (2nd wkt) vs SCO 2015
114 Shakib-al-Hasan & Mushfiqur Rahim (5th wkt) vs AFG 2015

No, this team has No. 10 as Mash - his option was right, execution wasn't.

Could have easily batted "comfortably" to reach 100, but that's not how cricket should be played. If they fail to close the innings, it'll be a failure for the bottom half, not Shakib. Also, Mushi is still there and he needs to make sure he scores a hundred here and take it to deep, Shakib was right in his approach, but Tahir was better than him for that ball.

It was excellent partnership from Shakib and Rahim with not much risk and good strike rotation. Wicket looks easy so BD should carry on the momentum.

Need to see out Rabada's spell here. SAF is one bowler short and if they can reach 40 overs with 3 down and Rabada's 8 finished, last 10 overs should go for plenty.

Mossadik is also in pretty good form, always had talent but looks to be now coming in his groove.

Its his 8th over and finally rabada looks like in good rhythm, pitching it up and bowling yorkers....i just feel he and a few saffer bowlers just did not turn up...the intensity is lacking...or maybe the bangla batmen are playing awesome....will be interesting ...

Mithun plays spin way better than pace. Bringing another pacer insteam of Markram could have been better for South Africa.

Disappointing part of Shakib getting out like that, was he didn’t fully open up his arm and got out rather too softly out of nowhere!

No he tried to be too cute. Now Markham is bowling. He could have just waited couple of overs and launch onslaught.

When I saw Markhram came to ball my eyes lit up by thinking Mithun would target him and hit some boundaries. Mithun can hit six at ease with spin bowling.

Well benefit of a flat track at least we will be able to watch complete match today finally.

Mushfiq has been one of the most consistently impactful players from Sub continent in last 2-3 years.

Bangladesh's spinners will be the key to defending this prospective 300+ total. Their pacers aren't going to trouble the SA batsmen.

Andile still has 3 overs left and he has bowled well today. Getting 330 plus is not going to be easy.

Can someone tell me what is the fuss about with Mithun? His batting stats in all formats are very ordinary.

They have to change batting order and put Shakib at 5 with Liton opening. But, I think next game, they'll play Sabbir, which is again hit or miss call.

Not sure if I should be upset or happy with that dismissal - if Tahir can turn it in first innings, it should turn more in 2nd innings.

Run rate going in wrong direction for BD

Tahir has 2 overs , Rabada as well, Andile has 3 left. Those other 3 overs will be vital for this game.

He is a sort of specialist No. 5, brilliant hitter of spinners often. I think, he scored couple of 50s in recent NZ tour as well, and generally plays better under pressure. Back-up WK as well in the squad.

Sabir Rehman is the blue-eyed boy of Bangladesh.

Tamim
Sowmya
Liton
Mushi
Shakib
Mahmudullah
Shabbir/Mosaddek

Tamim,Sowmya and Liton should be top 3.

Saffers playing like Pakistan has been playing these days.
No plan B,just going through the motions.

Well done to Bangladeshi batsmen. They are doing well.

Its World Cup man. S Africa can't handle pressure. Last time our Gul became batsman and kicked them out

It’s turning a bit for Tahir

Will be an interesting chase

yes...turn on offer....if bangla get 340 or thereabouts....ill be uphill against S UH , Miraz and co ....iwill be real intereasting...no amla, and saf are a man down...

Will be interesting to see how he goes this tournament. Btw I can see Mushfiqur being one the top run scorers this tournament.

How much is enough for Bangladesh? - 300, 310-315, 320-330 or 350?

350. But we are not getting it

I think the pitch will slow down. Graeme Smith also just mentioned it's a used surface. This will be a tough chase for SA with whatever they set for them. Also, they don't play spin that well.

Andile strikes. Developing into an excellent cricketer.

I hope when when he faces Pakistan, he gets the wicket of Sarfraz and follows it up with a send-off that he deserves. This would be a delight to watch.

Collapse. BD has no fire power to finish innings big. They should take 1s and 2s till 47th over then attack. Atleast you won't lose much. This is otherwise will become a tame ending.

Mushi did his job. SA are coming back in this game nicely. BD need to score 330 here.

What are you doing BD? Bat out your overs without losing wickets. 300 is there for the taking .

Maybe they took Bangaldesh too lightly. And when their pacers couldnt skittle them out, like Faf said they planned to do, they were taken aback perhaps and had no alternate plan to force the batsmen to make mistakes and give away their wickets somehow.
But they are making a comeback though. Good to see.Dont want boring onesided matches.

I think, scoring runs is getting a bit difficult with soft ball - that slash would have been much finner with a harder ball. Need to set realistic target and finish 50 overs here, still SAF will have to chase on this track against 30 overs of spin.
