I fully expect England to win this comfortably.

And a ball skids on practically straight away. Goes to show how its probably best to give the spinners the new ball for England.

286 runs Target for BD .

To win , it will take a big effort. Top 4 have to make big here , need someone to score a hundred.

Tamim nearly got out doing what Shakib did with bat

Screw our seniors. Learn from Misbah and Khan

Really want Bangladesh to win here though there's no chance. 4th innings chase in any conditions is tricky.

Will be Legendary win if Bangladesh could pull this near impossible chase off.

It will announce the real arrival of Bangladesh cricket.

Poor captaincy from Cook. Bring them all in except deep fine leg and maybe square leg or deep cover since Moeen does sometimes drop it short.

Hoping BD chase it down. Big ask though. England only a couple of wickets to put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Our players are trying to show how good they are

In ODIs while playing tests :shakib

Got a good game on our hands by the looks of it. Bangla need a couple of decent partnerships here and ba-boom!

If we had the quality spin players of Pakistan we would be certain favorites.

Bangladesh in a decent position. Need to ensure no more wicket falls in next 10 overs

Wow! I am seeing this guy for the first time, Mominul. Looks like a solid test player :amla

Bdesh now truly deserve to tour India for a test, good move by BCCI to invite them :srini

First time I've seen Bangla play like a proper Test team. Brings tears to my eyes.

I think Broad is being exposed as a occasionally somewhat decent bouncy track bully.

England should rely on pace instead of their pathetic spinners. Even Zimbabwe has better spinners

You never know - apart from YK, modern greats could have learnt how to play spin from Moin, Mongia or Kalu - that's the standard of spin play these days.

The Indian team of 2002 would have chased this target in 75 overs, 3 down max.

Lunch.

It's 60-40 England, could have been 40-60 with 0 down.

Back to Sharjah now.

The session belonged to us. Got the tail cheaply and scored some runs but if only Imrul stayed in the wicket we could go onto win this.

Bangladesh has a looooooooong way to go. If we achieve this, it will be the greatest chase of all time.

Honors even or slightly in ENG with 2 wickets. Imrul could have played for lunch, but that approach could have resulted 50/1 by now. 4th innings chase is all about counter attack - Poms are equally under pressure.

Exactly 200 needed going into lunch.

One of the remainng 5 batsmen has to score big (75+) with contributions from the others. Even then, we have collapsed in every innings since our return to cricket this year.

Even if we are 270-5, England will feel they have a chance to force a win!

Bangers must look to build partnerships and go at the rate they are going. Must not go into a shell.

Look for runs without recklessness and make the game nice and tight. Will also keep us neutrals interested (haha).

So Bangla need 200 on the dot with 8 in the bank. I think they are going about it the right way. Need to stay positive.

200 runs more to score with 8 wickets in hand, on a square turner. Bowling team is definitely favorites. 80-20

However, given that we caught England by surprise they will have their backs against the walls. Also, Bangladesh has nothing to lose. Even if we lose by 50 runs which is good possibility, we can give kudos to ourselves. But England winning toss and batting first, against a side with 14 month hiatus from test, would know that they have to win.

I would say 55-45 in favor of England. Mominul, Riad, Shakib and Mushy are all quality players and capable of scoring the remaining 200 runs on their own. But I am worried about our lower order, Sabbir and Miraz got out cheaply in the 1st innings to stokes, and this their debut test match.

But should be an excellent game nonetheless.

This is not a squire turner by any means trust me. New ball is bouncing & skidding a bit, but after that batsman can play quite easily with application. Problem is, these days there is hardly any footwork & players are groomed to hit through the line with heavy mallets & tight bottom hand on roads - slightest of turn & they simply forget batting. So far 2 wickets down - Tamim pushed at a ball that he should have waited for the ball to come with soft bottom hand - that edge would have never carried to short mid wicket (yes, mid wicket - in olden days short leg used to stand just on the edge of wicket without helmet - those were men's game). While, it's a shame that a spinner like Adir Rashed can land the ball ..... & Imrul went for a sweep - being left hander, he can step out every time & take it on full or pad up if not sure covering the line - in 5 days Rashid won't get him LBW.

If this is squire turner, then in the IND-PAK Bangalore Test '87, none of these teams would score 96 in any of 4 innings.

I am going to see how Shakib performs today. Rankings suggest he is the best allrounder in the world overall.

2nd in T20s, 1st in ODIs, 2nd in Tests(would have been 1st if he played any test recently). He has been good with the ball, now its time to win a match for his team with the bat. He wants to be regarded as one of the best players in the world, and today is his day, with the bat in hand, after a good performance with ball.

Can he lead his team to victory?

In Lagaan Bhuvan was the only man who could bat, he trained his entire team, came up with a mystery spinner :murali and defeated the Angrez, he never complained. Be like Bhuvan, don't be kaptan Russell.
Dharmasena is Gauri, confused.
