Considering how Shakib played, following on wouldn't have mean't we could take 10 wickets again in a hurry. That innings would have transferred momentum to Kayes and Tamim who may have came out a different pair. Good decision imo. I would score 100-120 as quick as possible, then send them back in. Batting now breaks their momentum which could have otherwise been worse for Pak. I just hope we don't bat for too long.
