yeah i think in tests he cannot seem to apply himself with the same resolve he employs in ODIs... but maybe a big inning or two could change that.Whippy said:Dammit. That was awesome stuff all the way through, it was shaping up to be literally Tendulkar v Lara - who can help their team to the bigger total?
Awesome batting from Tendulkar especially in the last 3 overs. As much as I would love him to be like this every day (except against England) I still think he is probably past it - his ability to score in ODIs was never in doubt, he had even been doing it in his last one day series before his latest lay-off. It was the tests that were the big problem, and he hasn't proved that he's 'back' in the man's form of the game yet, so let's not get too excited...superb century nonetheless.

nevertheless, statistically, tendulkar does not quite deserve a spot in the test match team.

believe it or not, r. p. singh sent down two delieveries at 87.2 and 88.3 mph. both did little but that speed from r.p. is unprecedented!PlanetPakistan said:How fast is Munaf bowling today?

Hash said:I saw 3 of his overs. Was consistently in the 80-83 mph range. In other words, a classic Indian bowler.

We should win this game now. Another Sachin 100 in a losing cause.
Romali_rotti said:Like ive been saying all this time> it's a one man army the rest of the goons in SRT's side doesnt show up as usual.... If they bowled a bit better they could have restricted the WI to maybe under 115 but Nooo rest of the goons just cant play.. Either way congrats to SRT awesome knock will go down as a legend when he retires![]()

BTW, anybody know how much WI is ahead on RR (D/L method )?
Romali_rotti said:Nah Ill just sit there and keep quiety & watch bowling performances like these;
Harbhajan Singh (ob) 4.0 0 30 0 7.50
IK Pathan 2 0 22 0 11.00
RP Singh 4 0 39 1 9.75
and potentially costing my team a chance to WIN.. Mate why dont you get on the field and do what SRT did, you act like such a hero; what you rather SRT not score any runs at all and let the team lose?.. Is it his fault he scores when rest of the goons in his team doesnt? what you want him to do? play for rest of your 10 uncritisizable players yeah?.. Stop your trash, you cant handle me praising a player who has always stood up for his team before age and injury caught up with him when rest of the goons did nothing?? well then I GOT NEWS FOR YA > I AINT GONNA DO IT, LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT, YOU DONT LIKE TOO BAD.....

The Duckworth - Lewis method says that at this stage the West Indians need to be at 115 for 2 to beat India and at the moment, they are well ahead
Abdul Qadir 236 said:anyone who watched the game will know a lot of runs from RP Singh and Bhajji were edges and streaky shots!

Such a shame that Sachins hundred might be just a waste.
It is still raining at Kuala Lumpur and we have information that there might be an inspection close to 14:30 GMT. So do not go far away, stay connected to find out more. As always, we'll be the first ones to update you with any news that crops up.

Muhammad said:113 seems a low requirement after 20 overs?
Would've expected the required RR to be higher than the overall RR being chased?
Then again I suppose WI started their innings thinking 310 was the target so D/L has to take all factors in to account.

W63L35 said:Basically you answered your own question. How many times a team starting to chase 310 will have a R/R of close 6 R/O after 20 overs? So, I think...it is a fair target..it is just WI batted superbly - or India bowled badly or both!
W63L35 said:I don't think it was a waste....didn't it give so much enjoyment and satisfaction to all the Sachin fans? Didn't enjoy the 100 when he was going full speed? If you did then it was not a waste?
jusarrived said:who said the rest of the team isnt critisizable ? but I ahve probs wen u do it just to make ur player look good..the bowlers din have a good start but batting teams going off to flyers in first 20 ovrs is common these days...140/2 n 20 ovsr is even's for both sides...the rest of the team dosen deserve to be called goons for this performance..only a tendulkar fan having harmones seeing his century is capable of saying such things.

UsmanhailsAfridi said:this game over...no way will this start again...another loss to india vs WI....after these 2 games...i think the whole equation of the world cup has changed...Aus almost lost...and India (one of the 4 semis finalists supposedly) has a bowling lineup that will struggle to contain any batting lineup....
so yea WC is very very open indeed
inzidabest said:The way Lara hit Harbhajan, I guess this match would have gone down to the wire. Windies had an equal chance of winning. India dont have as good bowlers as Australia to trigger a collapse. Bravo also plays well against Indian bowlers.
Tough luck cricket fans. I was expecting a Lara century.
on a lighter note: Chappel was seen with the water soaker, rushing on the ground. LOL
Romali_rotti said:Where was ur Dravid> in the 99 tour of AUS? You jump on Dravid's bandwagon when there are absolutely no class bowlers left in the world barring AUS & surprise surprise he dominates. He avgs a whopping 15 when both Mcgrath & Warne are on the field together, and he sure as hell doesnt have a good avg facing Wasim.... Personally I couldnt give a damn what you think but I feel I might enlighten you a little bit.
Ohh BTW I rate INZI ahead of Dravid![]()

jusarrived said:I have no idea why you bring Dravid into this..this isnt Dravid vs tendu or their records vs Mcgrath n Warne. I Have told before that sachin is the most talented bat of this era ...Dravid,inzi ,ponting n lara don even come close...but its also a fact that he dosen fit into this team..Iam not saying that he is selfish, but his runs rarely helps team cos of his sissy attitude....!
why wud it bother me,if you rate inzi over Dravid ....both match winners for their respective teams...I rate both players highly for their commitment!
Romali_rotti said:You would rarely see that against ASIF or anyone else who is class![]()

just check WI score in their last ODI against OZ at the end of 20 ovrs!
Playa said:Dont be harsh on Dravid, without him, we might not have won in the West Indies this year, nore won the test in Australia in 2003.
Romali_rotti said:Not Harsh on Dravid but facts are facts Playa, last tour down under for us was against a very weak Aus attack without 2 of their truimph cards and credit to Dravid for the win against the WI but those bowlers are junk no offence man.. This jusarrived guy just salvates over Dravid and he gets very sad when I praise SRT, I mean Dravid's record vs the 'class' bowlers is JUNK....
Romali_rotti said:Sissy attitude? please define your meaning of what SRT's 'sissy attitude' is? Boy arguing with you is getting funnier by the minute) .. So you are saying SRT's 140 odd today was not good enuff cause of his sissy attitude ?. Do you know how dumb you sound?.. After watching cricket for so many years I always thought SRT's role in the team was to score runs (MAIN PRIORITY) which he has done so lavishly, so he has done what has been require of him, now where does this sissy attitude fit in?...

He says that they had expected the rain and that is the reason why they went all out in the beginning. He too showers praise on Sachin's comeback innings.
Chris Gayle has been adjudged the Hi flier of the Match
He says that it gives him immense pleasure to be back and that in this fashion. He is also very happy about the way his body has responded to the treatment.
Sachin Tendulkar has been adjudged the Man of the Match for his masterly knock
Brian Lara says that it is good to come back in that fashion. He feels that they could have bowled better but Sachin's knock was magical and he certainly had no answer for that. But he is very happy with the way the guys responded with the bat.
Rahul Dravid says that he is very disappointed that things turned up in such a way after batting so well but they indeed could have bowled better. he is all praise for the Sachin knock and wants him to continue scoring runs like this.
Well friends the news is terrible for Indian fans. The match has been called off and West Indies have won by 29 runs by Duckworth - Lewis method here.

1) You say he never score when chasing??? Well, about 101 times, 4400 runs, 13 100s and ave of 58........he has successfully chased.
2) His 100s are mostly in 1st innging??
In wins......15 in 1st innings while 13 in 2nd innings....about the same. Total of 17 100s in 2nd innings.
Today's match not included.
