Australia win the toss and are bowling first. Eoin Morgan is back for the hosts and Billy Stanlake is back for the visitors.

Looks like another run fest. Trent Bridge produces roads for one day cricket these days.

Bairstow is supremely talented. Shows what happens when you take the gloves off him and allow him to solely focus on his batting.

When will clueless Bayliss get the hint and make him a specialist bat in Tests ?

Yep.

156-0 off nineteen overs.

Roy mate, there was a ton for the taking there.

Hales is due for big score & today might be that day at his homeground.

England 203/1 after 24 overs.

No excuse not to get 500 here ;)

India A smashed 458 and now England well placed to score 400. How can anybody find this entertaining is beyond me. This is not cricket.

England when plays attacking cricket is lethal. If the opposition show some discipline then they have some chance otherwise this English batting line up is full of butchers.

25th over and already 8 bowlers used - either Aussies have come here to troll, or something isn't right in that camp.

Such a farce ODI cricket is becoming  But expect ICC to do nothing about the two new ball rule or any of the other playing conditions which are resulting in these one sided run fests.

Trent bridge is known highscoring venue in England. Even Pakistan conceded 444 here so no need to overreact.
Australia's bowling stocks are depleted due to injuries and against mighty English batting lineup on this ground high score is inevitable.

Are Pakistan playing any games at Trent Bridge in the World Cup?

Tye and Agar are simply not good enough for ODIs. Should be put out to pasture.

Even Pakistan might whitewash this Australian team. This is beyond pathetic.

Strewth, 47 off the last three. Hales has got 60 and it seems only a minute ago that he came in.

Test cricket is still helping in keeping bit of sanity in cricket otherwise its more like becoming baseball now a days.

Who would want to become a bowler in LOIs? It might discourage younger kids to become bowlers. :sanga

264 might be a stretch, but YJB should target 230 odd from here

Just changing the ball to one new Dukes would help. This trash Kookaburra offers nothing !

ICC should keep only one of the rules from two new balls and only 4 fielders allowed till 40th overs.

I think it would be better to discard that two new balls rule and keep the fielding restriction thing of 4 fielders till 40th.

Doosra is gone from cricket and reverse swing has also become minimum in ODIs with these two new balls. More kind of varieties and skills only makes a game popular atleast that is what cricket has always been about.

India -A scored 458/4 against Leicestershire today. The likes of Shaw and Gill are bossing there.

Clearly shows England have the flattest of the flat pitches in LOI cricket.

Rightly said.

Liecestershire fielded c grade team.

What a farce! England is becoming such a poor place to play ODI cricket. Next year's WC will be such a biring event if we get pitches and grounds like these.

That two new ball rule has literally killed bowling.

isnt this the same ground where England smashed us over 400 runs

and we are playing them again in this ground next year worldcup

And Sky used to go on about flat pitches in the Sub-Continent, and no one wants to see 300 vs 300.

England on course to get 450...

All that aside...England are showing why they have to be favourites for the WC next summer. Strauss' work is coming to fruition.

Maybe now England may realise that cricket is more than an overplayed bi-lateral series, and that there are global trophies up for grabs.

England have taken OD batting to another level. Its pure hard hitting throughout .... keep the momentum.

England is the most mesmerizing ODI team I have ever seen. Their best is light years above the next team in ODI cricket today

Lol, Atherton just pulled up Hales' wagon wheel. Biggest leg side hack of all time!

I bet Pakistan full strength side would not have been able to smash Leicestershire C grade team for 458 if they wanted to.

India A also has Under 19 players like Gill and Shaw.

19 year olds smashing hundreds and fifties at 140 S/R is not normal.

I am not undermining ind A's achievement just stating that Leicestershire bowling attack is way more worse than the decent emerging bowling attack that England board 11 fielded in last match were ind A scored very good 328.

England were on course in the CT until Pakistan's genius stopped them. They demolished Australia in the group match, with Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood

Exactly. Looked so good then got no where. WT20 v WI was the same. JAMODI lions but pea hearted.

WT20 was one bad over and a moment of brilliance from Brathwaite. Tbh England have been denited by pure genius. Only so long will that continue to happen

This team is two world-class ODI bowlers away from being the scariest in history. You don't break a world record twice in 2 years if you're not extra-ordinary

Dont you think guys Morgan should always bat below buttler & take responsibility as a finisher. He did played that role in the past very well & always known as good batsman under pressure. This move allows buttler ample time to get set & IMO better for England.

England are still suseptible to a horror show with the way they play. Boom or bust approach is not wise, especially with their crap bowling.
