The fate of the game and the series (as far as England are concerned) could well be decided today

So which way will it go?

Day 3 highlights:

India will win this , 170 odd runs lead with 7 wickets in hand is a big advantage.

England if they want to win have to get 7 wickets within 50 - 60 runs here .

KL Rahul has been fined 15 percent of his match fees for showing dissent towards the umpires after his dismissal on day three of the fourth Test against England.

KL Rahul has been fined 15 percent of his match fees for showing dissent towards the umpires after his dismissal on day three of the fourth Test against England.

India opener KL Rahul has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third day of the fourth Test against England at The Oval.

Rahul was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision during an International Match.”

In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary record of Rahul, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period.

The incident occurred in the 34th over of India’s second innings on Saturday, when Rahul showed dissent on being adjudged caught behind the wicket following a DRS review.

Rahul admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Chris Broad of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees and ratified by the ICC Cricket Operations department as per the COVID-19 interim playing regulations. There was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth official Mike Burns levelled the charges.
Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

I hope so too. However, saw how our two set batsmen got out the moment England took the new ball.
Hope Kohli and Jadeja escape unhurt

India has to play another 45 overs and score 140 runs atleast to get into a winning position and they will be happy!
For England if they can get india out for another 80 runs they will be happy!

If Kohli gets out early, it's game over.

I don't trust Rishabh Afridi.

Covid is going to win this Test!

News coming in that four of the Indian backroom staff have tested positive this morning.

Day 4 of the Oval Test will go ahead as all the Indian players Test negative for COVID-19.

Of course they are. They won’t test positive for another 12-24 hours assuming this is Delta.

UK infection rates are catastrophic, over 35,000 per day, and deaths are over 100 per day.

The nation is in a state of collective obliviousness and recklessness, and this was an accident waiting to happen.

Just in: The BCCI medical team has isolated head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach B Arun, fielding coach R Sridhar and physiotherapist Nitin Patel as a precautionary measure after Shastri’s lateral flow test returned positive for Covid-19 last evening

10.42am A bit of off-field drama to report. Four of India's back-room staff are in isolation, including Ravi Shastri, who returned a positive Lateral Flow test. Will update when we hear more.

What will happen if any player found covid postive after today play ??

Here we go. Again baseless attacks and assumptions by you. BCCI cares about it players welfare the most.

If a player tests positive for Covid in a Test match, teams can bring in Covid substitutes from the available pool of squad players.

Jadeja already a lot more staying power than Rahane.

I notice Rahane doesn't even average 40 anymore.

Flat as a pancake, can't see this pitch changing alot. Day 5 should have no demons in this.

This pitch has died. The weather forecast going forward shows a week of warm sunshine.

These latter two days are all psychological now. Can India stay on top psychologically and set England a big target; can England keep it together and not psychologically crumble under the scoreboard pressure.

Nothing in the pitch whatsoever.

Woakes should have started ahead of Jimmy or Robo because he is fresh and is the most lethal bowler England are having considering the tiredness of the other two premier bowlers.

Send the midget home.

Even though it's not out.

Amateurish leave from Rahane and rubbish batting really, lucky to get away with that.

Harsha is not a cricket analyst. He should have been a story-teller or an author or even a poet.

Significantly more seam movement today than there was yesterday . Just goes to show that you can't just judge conditions based on weather.

What did Virat said to Rahane before he was leaving?

"Go and plan your retirement?" :yk

Most pathetic middle order bat for us at least during last 4 decades.

Biggest liability in this lineup. Needs to be dropped for good. No other person holds this team back as much as he does.

India lead stuck on 197 runs for so long now.

Rishabh Afridi comes to the crease. Inspires so much confidence.

Not!

Rishabh . Sydney . Fightback . Save test. don't get out.

If indians going to play defensive they will lose the match today itself
The key is to attack all out

How useless is rahane . should dropped for test team permanently

Indian players are trapped .runs dry up , wickets falling . England is at dominant position now .

Pant is showing some maturity now and not giving a charge to the bowlers. May be captain Kohli standing at the other end is the reason behind it. :inti

If Kohli gets out now the game is over.

lo..he did come walking down the crease once. maybe Kohli glared at him

Looks like England won't be chasing anything more than 250. Hopefully, they pick a better specialist batsman next game.

India lead now 200 runs.
Think 280 should be competitive?

Kohli hasn't scored for 20 balls.

Edit: beautiful cover drive for 4 to break the sequence.

Kohli limitation is nowaday like 50-60 runs maximum so he will be soon in that category .
