If india win you can rest assured that the english media will make this all about DRS

INDDIIIAAAAAAA ON A ROLL. India is doing what england did to india during '11 Series.

You fill your team with batsmen, its still not helping!!! CMON!

If india win you can rest assured that the english media will make this into a DRS battle

If India win this test, the media would be on about:

How prior was not out, and if he was there could have changed the game.
How the pitch changed magically when india bowled.

I don't think Prior would have done much even if he was given not out....The pitch is magically transformed to this minefield. India have been bowling brilliantly and the English batting has struggled. Root is actually hanging on by the thread..He could have been out multiple times.

Englands bowling plans were too predictable in the first innings. Indias pacers have outperformed Englands comfortably. Dhoni has been excellent as a captain thus far

If we avoid the follow-on, we should be able to save the match. Plunkett is no mug with the bat and Root is still there.

India well on top though, you can see their bowlers are much more used to bowling on these wickets.

No No ... Broad is a leftie and he is new to the crease ... why on earth did you replace Bhuvi Dhoni

When it comes to India, it ain't over until we get 10 wickets.

Ain't over.

yeah I know...Even Muralitharan has his highest test score against India...I still remember the game in 2001 when we had them on the mat and Murali scores 60+ to set Indian a target of 260+ (we won the game though) which could have been lesser than 200. So until India gets all 10 out we cannot be sure.

You guys do all this buildup and hype this Indian team and we get an egg on our face.

You guys said we will win the T20 World Cup.

We got an egg.
You're going against a noob England team. This pitch will get slower and lower as the game goes on it will bring Jadeja into it big time. And Bhuvi and Shami bowling wicket to wicket perfect for this pitch. And Ishant is Ishant.

england actually look scared...very indecisive...could end up being a long summer for them

England have Broad and Anderson who have a wealth of experience much more than their Indian counterparts. They should have adapted to the pitch better

India will not enforce the follow-on even if they end up with a lead of 240.

Broad and Anderson both bowled well I thought, it was Plunkett and Stokes who looked unthreatening.

I would prefer to follow on now, it's our only chance of winning.

The beast was always awake.

Ishant needs to clean up the tail.

He bowled a no ball when Stuart Broad's edge popped up.

6 wickets in the middle session of the test match on a flat surface with the Indian bowlers. Mighty pleased!

74/6 off 25 overs in this session. Over rate is very slow.

Whoevers idea it was to make Plunkett an 'enforcer' on slow.pitches like this is an idiot. Onions would be good on this pitch he is a good wicket to wicket bowler

From cricinfo

Robert Badnews : "I wish they would stop changing the pitches between inning's. It's just not fair. "

I just can't wait for the next session to start.

How fast we remove the tail is important.

With India, you never know.

I hope they clean it up fast.

Woeful cricket from England. It is not easy to bat but there's no excuse for this - none at all.

All this crying about the pitch from the last couple of days...Shows English bowling's inefficiency on pitches which is not green. Their batting isn't as strong as they would like to presume. An Ajmal type of bowler for India here would have bowled England out by now on this surface. India for sure is missing Ashwin, not only would he have been more effective than Binny on this surface, he would have scored more runs. Everyone including the media knew that this was going to be a dry surface except for Indian think tank.

Bet defensive Dhoni will have none of that.

He'll bat again and open with the plodder Vijay.

Its the first match of the series- dont want to kill your bowlers- better off having B&A run to ground and going off on sick leave....

I don't think Dhoni will have to make that decision considering the history of Indian bowling...Even if we do bowl them out, whom do you presume should open other than the guy who scored a brilliant hundred in the first innings?

Poor batting from Eng. Pitch is still very good for batting and there is no excuse to be 7 down with only 200 runs. I think if the last 3 wickets apply themselves then Eng can easily add 100+ runs.

This is where normally Indian bowling loses the plot. Shami leaking runs here. The lead getting eaten away fast. They should not assume that the job is done as they would have seen what Bhuvi and Shami did themselves when they batted.

Kohli and Dhoni would be ideal. A quick burst of 100 runs should be good enough.

Maybe I'm 15 years too early for this kind of thing to happen in test cricket.

And if we lose quick wickets- ala Oval 2007??

And why have 2 RHs opening? Dhonis a hack at test level- any run from is an unexpected bonus

Why does Kumar chase the ball all the way to the boundary when he can't field it for nuts?

Waste of energy.

We are leaking runs after tea....So follow on is out of question...If we manage to get around 150 runs lead...we would be lucky...Broad has a history of scoring runs against India...He can hurt us bad if we don't get him out soon.

Yah, he pounded us at this very ground in 2011 and took the game and series away from us - with both bat and ball.

It doesn't happen often, but the Indian bowlers need to learn to sledge when the batsman gets beaten.

Broad will keep attacking, so runs will come fast for England....India need to get some control back.

Watch us conjure a draw out of this somehow.

I am still not convinced that we can win this game....We need to bowl England out first before harboring any thoughts of winning the game. Remember second test in NZ? We let it slip after NZ was 87/5 with us 150+ ahead.

I still can't get over McCullum scoring a triple century.

But I'm thinking more about that test versus South Africa where Faf and de Villiers had that immense partnership and fell just like a dozen or so runs short.

I think England commies are trying to break the world record on the amount of times the word flat pitch has been said on commentary

Well this partnership is giving me that bad feeling which I had when Swann and broad smashed the Indian bowling after we had them reeling in 2011.

Just a bunch of whingers overall. No way they deserve to be anywhere near the top #3 with their solemn, defeatist attitude.

For that to happen the lower order has to score 200+ and then you guys for a safe total have to bat long till 350 lead and then bowl atrociously. I am willing to give india more credit then that.

Current partnership 47 runs, 9.1 overs, RR: 5.12 (Broad 27, Root 19)

same old same old game drifting away

Sharma always makes sure that no matter what match no matter what pitch, he has to concede a hundred runs. These two are batting really well.

Dhoni is capable of all of the above.

See, they've nearly avoided the follow-on already.

Sometimes you just have to roll your sleeves up and deal with it. This pitch while being flat wasnt the biggest road ive ever seen. I remember the Indo-Pak series in the mid 2000s they were absolute bowlers graveyards
