In all the years I have followed our test team, this has to be the worst bowling attack I've seen and that is by Indian standards. Its ridiculous how the likes of binny even got selected to the test squad. Forget the MRF foundation crap. We need a truly comprehensive fast bowling program that identifies talent, nurtures it and makes sure that it isnt lost thanks to excessive cricket/poor captaincy etc. I think I'm done watching team India play test cricket for some time now. Pathetic selections/performances.

I've come to the conclusion that the only way our fast bowling in tests will prosper is if we flick players a la England from other nations. South Africa is full of them I hear.

What's the difference between Dhawan and Gambhir if he plays that same outside edge inducing shot?

Dhawan beasted a 180+ against Australia on debut and scored a 100 and a 95 in New Zealand.

He's good, just needs to get up to 30 somehow and the runs will start to flow easier.

I'm not talking about great fast bowlers like steyn. Is it so hard for us to produce 3 or 4 decent seamers who can keep it tight and swing/seam the ball? I thought bhuvi was mediocre but I wouldn't mind 3 or 4 clones of him right about now. Better than this rubbish.

Indian bowlers lack sting. But anyway, I'm not going to indulge in one of those futile discussions.

Our openers are making the same pitch where Jimmy Anderson, of all people, scored a flamboyant 81 look like a minefield

Another edge for four, this one by Dhawan.

This is the best we can hope for in the rest of the game - frustrate the hell out of them by hook or by crook.

Desperate times.

This innings by India is going to set the tone for the rest of the series. We just need to put up a fight and the confidence will build up

What shots! Say whatever you want but Indian batsmen trump their English counterparts in elegance and grace

Plunkett is a useless addition in this English bowling attack. Finn is much better

England's commentators with their "Pitch is flat, don't blame Anderson" trash again.

Where were they when he was batting?

Looks like Cook is hell bent on proving that he's a good captain. Look at the field :))

For all the bashing Indian commentators receive, ours are actually some of the most neutral ones (except for when it comes to defending BCCI).

I don't know why these streams are only giving me the Sky stuff, would love to jump over to Star and listen to Dravid/Ganguly/Gavaskar if he's there.

Strauss is especially boring.

By the way, I know starsports.com offers the stream but it's five minutes delayed and I don't want that.

Pressure on India! Just 3 more batsmen left.. Dhoni, Jadeja and Binny are free wickets for England

I doubt. But binny should get a chance , since he is on tour.

Wicket's nature was obvious from day 1. Playing Binny here was not just injustice to India, but also injustice to Binny. This is a selection blunder that has cost us a Test and may end Binny's career for no fault of his.

Dhawan's Hackathon ends. Even on this flat track, he had to take risks in order to score.

They were loving it then unsurprisingly the amount of time they said flat pitch dropped considerably.

Spot on. I was thinking the same.

Binny might have 0very well played his last test match. Ever.

man that bowling in the first session from india, i don't even think the stuff bangladesh served up when dizzy made his double ton was that bad.
