Different bowlers yes, but both have the same role. i.e. main spinners.

However, Yasir is a tailender who can score 20-25 once in a while, but Ashwin is/can be a very solid Test batsman too.

So clearly their batting skills is not irrelevant, and they don't need an extra all-rounder.

Having Ashwin allows them to absorb an additional bowler or batsman instead.

Plus India is playing more test matches than Pakistan.

If Yasir gets consistent matches just like the way he is going to get this year - surely he can improve himself.

Practically this !! Ramiz has absolutely no clue when it comes to cricketing technicalities and commentates mostly based on narrative rather than addressing any cricketing facet. He's like the of the com box, has literally all the aesthetics going around but just simply can't convert that into meaningful numbers.

His cliqued analogy, after the end of day 1, on how Pakistan lack discipline over a course of a spell signified that he isn't in sync with practically anything remotely close on how Pakistan play their cricket in the UAE. Bowling discipline and channel bowling has been Pakistan's biggest strengths in becoming the best home team in the Middle East - A feat that is standing on the basis of grind work and sincere discipline. This is also the reason why this past two days bowling performances have been so unlike Pakistan.

Anyways Raja should just stick to the verbal diarrhea he spouts during the IPL and meaningless T20s across the globe. Technical commentary in a test match just isn't his cup of tea.

This pitch has true bounce and is relatively flat, if our batsmen just can somehow survive the first 50 balls of the innings, I wouldn't be surprised that they go on and make a huge total just like how the English boys are doing.
