my fears of us bowling first may be real..we seem to be bowling too many pies..i mean sohail isnt a superman but he has kept it tight...amir should be keeping it tight..
 
Let's just forget about the decision for a second. Even if there were thick clouds here, what kind of bowling is this
 
Pakistan need to think about their game plans with ball here and have according fields. Not much thought going into bowling at moment.
 
Need to bowl more disciplined line. Need about 3 wickets in morning session when you put a team in.

The decision to bowl first was purely based on stats, this pitch is apparently different to your typical Edgbaston pitch.

The thing is, imagine if Pakistan had elected to bat first and finds itself 60/5 at the end of first session and 170-200 all out. That would effectively put you out of the game and you have to chase the match from thereon. Not everytime a team can win the match after getting 120 in the first innings like Sri Lanka did. Atleast this always keeps you in the game.

The onus is on the bowlers to use the new cherry. Misbah can't help it if they waste the new ball.

OT wicket was flat too, it's not like they bowl exceptional, we batted very poorly.

To me it's bat first wicket. Misbah made decision out of fear, if we had one 400ish score in last match, he would have batted first today.

That's why i am backing Misbah decision considering conditions and our batting fragility, his decision is best.
 
Pathetic bowling with no control

Anderson and broad would have already had two of our guys snicked of by now
 
What our bowlers and management did since last test. No improvement in bowling at all. Same length and same sloppy bowling.
 
Better from Sohail, finally pitched the ball up in right area.
 
Misbah fell for the bluff, paid too much attention to the stats [MENTION=53290]Markhor[/MENTION] keeps posting rather then judge the pitch on its own. There's always a little bit for the seamers on day 1 at Edgbaston but they have not left even a bit of grass, it's a dry pitch. Seeing a few clouds in the sky means nothing, the suns going to be out in all its glory for most of this test and scientists have not found a direct correlation between swing bowling being aided by clouds. Besides, our seamers are too green to make use of conditions good for bowling; they still are unable to pitch the ball up.
 
Which channel is showing it in India ? Star sports1 is showing highlights of pro kabbadi :facepalm:
 
Pakistan's strength is bowling so Misbah chose to bowl.

Everyone knows that Pak top order is unreliable. I am still backing Misbah for bowling 1st
 
If amir fails he should be dropped and sent to domestic to perform , may be come back against Australia if he performs in domestic.
 
Batting first would be disaster for us with so many hack in our batting. We would have lose 4 wickets by now.
 
Rahat and Sohail have been much better than Wasim Akram so far.

Not decision fault if your bowlers can't bowl in a good line. Sohail bowled some deliveries in perfect line and he looked like million dollars bowler.

And now look at Rahat's 5th delivery to Cook.

Bowling first was best decision.
 
Rahat is going to go for above 4 RPO as usual. No one should expect him to bowl good lines, he gets his wickets from the odd jaffa.
 
Body language of our bowlers look pathetic. Why they already look so tired?
 
Unbelievable poor decision...i hope YK or Hafeez is not behind this decision. ..they would still be walking wickets when pakistan bats on day3....after Enand score 650
 
Amir has been very disappointing, his lengths are predictable and on the shorter side, nothing to fear the batsmen.

This is his third test, still has not found the length [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]

He is also not putting any meaningful back spin to the ball. Late swing happens with back spin, missing in this tour thus far...
