Pakistan will start batting today.

Let's see what Sami Aslam can show us.
 
Cricket is by chance game , any thing can happen but my best guess is Pakistan will score around 200 in first innings and will lose 3rd test comfortably.
 
It's windy but dry in Birmingham. It will be good batting conditions Pakistan will have no escuses today but I'm sure we will find a way to mess up.
 
This pakistan 1st inns will make or break the final out come of the series for me. We need get a team total of 350 which with our line up in these conditions is a tough ask, but its time our batting showed some guts and fight and need a big hundred or two from out top 6.

Players like Hafeez, Azhar Ali need to produce here for pakistan.
 
Need to bat out the day. 350-400 should be the target. Azhar, Hafeez and Younis do owe us a big score.
 
Aaaj azhar ko qasam kha ker aana chahye ke aaj out nahin hona..score banaye ya Na banaye.. Score 30 in 200 deliveries lekin out Na ho.
 
Any expansive or fancy cover drives etc.. need to be put away. The wicket was pretty slow so best way to play is to play straight and be positive.
 
Hoping Hafeez and Sami can see off the new ball, i predict Hafeez will come good in this test.
 
Seems like it's going to be some good batting conditions today.

Seniors need to step up and grab the game by the scruff of the neck today to dictate the terms for the match. YK, Misbah and Hafeez will have to step up. Azhar as well.
 
Ballance said the pitch was tricky and not easy to get set on, though I don't know if he's playing some mind games there.

There was a bit of uneven bounce yesterday.
 
Pakistanis bowl too many freebies yesterday, 80/100 runs given extra by our seamers. Sohail and Rahat bowl some peaches in between lot of hit me bowls.

There bowlers are lot more disciplined with their lengths. Plus they have four seamers. And we are dud against them in general. So an uphill task for batting unit that is more fragile than glass. We will know in first 30 mins where we are going with this. First session is vital for both team, whoever wins that most likely will win the test.

Five minutes to the start.

Going to have a quick comfort break before Hafeez, Aslam and Azhar get out in the first few minutes......
 
I've taken a sick leave from work, ordered in two domino's and am really looking forward to our Innings today !!

Just hope Hafeez and Sami don't ruin it for me. PLEASE!!!!
 
they just need to bat..nothing fancy just bat the day out and score..take it easy..no silly shots..I think we shouldnt expect much from poor sami but hafeez axhar and younis need to get in the runs today!!
 
What a ridiculous first over shot.

Mickey Arthur won't put up with much more from Mohammad Hafeez, methinks. How can you carry an opener averaging 20.00?
 
Worst deliver Anderson has bowled this series and he gets a wicket. :facepalm:

really hope Sami comes through. Not being able to score runs against bangladesh doesnt seem very promising

Azhar Ali looks even more like an LBW candidate than Shane Watson!
 
Azhar has the worst shot to rotate strike: shuffle to offside to play it to fine leg
 
Blody hell. I miss one over and Hafeez is out. Really really want Sami to do well here. Likeably character. It will be very difficult though
 
We can keep lamenting til the cows come home , Hafeez will remain an integral member of the team funnily he chooses to retire
 
Anderson average 16 against Pakistan, thats 12 runs short of his overall average. Phenomenal, or we are just pathetic!
 
Azhar can come good today if he doesn't get bogged down and keeps rotating the strike.
 
Pakistan had Calamity Farhat then they had Salman Butt and now they have Hapless Hafeez
