Why are you blaming the skipper ? Wahab overstepped when he had Bairstow caught at backward point and Moeen was dropped by Azhar.

That last few overs that I did see the field placement was totally defensive and then his buddy Iftikhar seems like a gully level cricketer

Well Amir,Wahab and Yasir will bowl so consider them three Sohail will struggle to run grunt and throw pies post Tea day 1 and Iftikhar bubble busted on 3rd ball of 2nd over.

Game is gone. 300 would be a match winning total and these too look set to get England beyond that

I think on that wicket if they exceed 300 then it's game over and at this point given how Mo and Bairstow are batting we'd take 300 all out

He will entertain you in ODI series with his brilliant captaincy and batting dont worry.

If that's the case, our batsmen should be whipped. This pitch is flattening out big time and offering very little spin so failing to reach 400+ would be poor.

We'd do well to bowl England out for less than 300. Get about 450 and hopefully bowl a LOT better in the 2nd innings compared to Edgbaston.

The turning point in the game and possibly the moment we lost the test series.
 
I am planning to run some analysis on cricinfo commentary, it seems like you can predict every 4th or 5th ball by Wahab and Rahat will be on legside and pads... Why so predictable ? Anyone with answers ?

Bowl them out for 250 and you still can win. 300 and then you can forget about it. The selection is to be blamed. Ifthikars selection is gonna hurt Pakistan big time. I'm surprised Imran didn't get a single game. He could been the workhorse who kept the pressure while Amir and Wahab looked for wickets.
 
Bairstow and Ali rescuing England again albeit with a little help from Wahab and the Ali in the Pakistani team.

There is no way on earth they can bowl out England at around 250 unless they collapse by throwing away wickets.

Can't see England missing out on 250 tbh. Their target should be 300+. Anything less will be a major collapse. Misbah hasn't helped either though. If you ignore the drop, he let Moeen settle and he's done the same with Bairstow.

The field setting for Yasir is laughably defensive, as was the open leg-side for Amir when he looked dangerous.
 
Pakistan management have thselves to blame, they didn't play 5 regular bowlers and its bound to bite them in the backside.
 
At work, but hearing about dropped catches and poor captaincy. Also seeing we had England in trouble and there off the hook now. Depressing situation

Forget it and move on. Catches in the slips are very difficult. Cook who fields in the slips for 99% of his matches has dropped some. They happen. Forget them and move on. Azhar has taken some good catches in the slips this season and previously too.

Let's back the boys.

I think we lost the series in the Edgbaston Test tbh.

The last day collapse was the reason and no other.

Pakistan should have gambled in this match , I can bowl better than iftikhar. Yes our batting is fragile but what's the point when your bowler can't take 20 wickets.
 
England will get to 400 easily.

I don't see us getting any of them out without new ball and new ball is 30 overs away. Iftikhar won't bowl for long and rest of our bowlers will be tired. Yasir is bowling rubbish anyway. Go figure.

Not at all. Remember Boycott was the one who stuck up for us during 1992 and 2006 ball tampering affairs - he testified on behalf of Imran and Inzamam in the hearings.

He's probably frustrated at our indiscipline like we are. He's been a big supporter of us over the years, he was the one who got Younis Khan to Yorkshire a few years ago.

He usually comes across as blunt but that's Yorkshiremen for you.
 
If it were upto Misbah he would even remove the keeper, kahin galati se osko catch na chala jaye
