England v Pakistan | 4th Test | The Oval | Aug 11-15, 2016 | Day 3

I'm actually starting to worry about England's prospects.

If you survive until Tea you lead by 140, and it will take us until lunch to knock off the deficit.

But worse than that, another 42 runs and you reach 500. That would be quite a psychological hurdle for us.

No one expecting you to worry about Pakistan. The would be the least concern I believe for you.

Spare a thought for Ijaz Butt.

If you had taken Younis Khan to Australia in 2009-10 and then on to England, you'd have avoided a series of awful defeats and possibly avoided the spotfixing scandal.

If YK can manage it physically, he should protect the tail & bat for 3 more hours, even at 1.5 rate. After 2 days in field, if Poms are put to survive 10 overs this afternoon & then again tomorrow morning, it'll be tough.

What do you reckon, IMO, No. 5 is best position for Younus's remaining test career. Babar should slot in at 4 if we dont play 5 bowlers. Asad at 3.

Younis showing guts here ,struggling a little against briad but still doesn't take a single pn second ball, sarfraz would have take it because it was not the last batsmen.

To be frank i thought he may be past it and going by the evidence of the last 3 tests i was afraid i was right. But i think MMHS called it a while back when he said that YK would make a big score this series. YK may not have the greatest technique etc. but his guts and temperament are second to none.

THis game is built on character, more than anything else.

We came back at oval in 2010 after two solid thrashings butvyeah not as heartbreaking ones as edgbastons

But at Lord's we had a huge chance to square the series, reducing England to 102-7 but when Trott and Broad made their comeback we gave up. Got disgracefully bowled out for 74 on a pitch with no major demons.

Yah that was embarrassing but half way through the match the scandal broke out.

Stop slogging Amir ! Just nudge some singles and build the lead. No need for these hoicks.

Are you guys happy with the way Pakistan is being exposed outside UAE :yk some of those PP pundits need to find another dictionary for this word :))

Most Pathetic Administrator

If you see when we played Yousuf at the Oval we ended up winning that match. One wonders what could have been the result with Younus and Misbah batting ahead of Umar Amin and Malik in those tours

Years of patience and stability leads to,a successful test side there should be a nucleus
Which we had in Misbah Yuni Azhar Asad JK Wahab etc

Broaddy was crying for his century and cook doesn't let him get it not good.

There's still 32 over for the new ball. If YK survives then automatically we will have extra 50 runs leads. But difficult with tail.

Yuni bhai hiding Amir from England's best bowler

Wicket has turn and bounce, Yasir needs to flight, that should be the focus. He can do a lot, I hope Mushi and Yasir are thinking about that.

We are getting into strong position.

I feel like Test matches take a lot of charcacter, ODIs take a little bit, while T20s take no character at all(as seen in the IPL).

Perhaps. I agree that test cricket is probably the greatest test of character since you have to toil for five days but why single out IPL?

younis in not nervous 90s player but his gets nervous in 190s

Make them bowl another 20 overs. Wear them down

Huge six from YK[emoji86][emoji86][emoji86]

Nice straight bat from Amir. The basics are there - he really ought to be a 20 averaging bat in Tests. What do you think ? MMHS

Don't know why he has take a single on second ball on ali especially, could have cash in.

Depends on when Misbah calls it a day. Ideally, if he retires after Oval, for UAE, I'll debut at least 3 players - 2 batsmen & 1 all-rounder.

The all-rounder is direct shoot-out between Yamin & Nawaz (depending on wicket as PAL 'll play 2 spinners), if Haris is not fit yet (Haris should be fit by then, otherwise, he should be out of Central Contract) - or PAK can try Saud as batting all-rounder. For middle order, eventually Azhar & Asad has to drop down to 4 & 5. With due respect, Azhar & Asad are not spring chickens therefore, they shouldn't bat in top 3. Shifting Azhar too many times isn't good, so Babar should bat at 5 for the time being. Sami, Azhar, Asad, YK, Babar, Nawaz/Saud/Yamin + Sarfu + Aamir, Wahab, Yasir & Ashghar. In UAE, Wahab actually makes the team over Sohail or Rahat. Ideally, PAK should play on faster wickets in UAE with 3 pacers & Nawaz supporting Yasir, considering ANZ tours, but PCB isn't that competent.

Fantastic lessons for the likes of azhar ali, sami, asad shafiq from the legend . . 50 is not enough! 70 is not enough! 100 is not enough!! when you're in . . . GO ON!! dont give it away . . make it big . . thats when your team wins . . pretty looking 50s aren't good enough . .
