Lunch 103/2

Englands session. A lot of hard work and better bowling need by Pakistan after lunch!

ENG 103-2 | 27 overs

Interesting session, bowling was inconsistent but some excellent deliveries.Kamran drop catch big talking point, wasted chance on a flat, dry deck. You aint gonna get chances like that too often !

Big session coming up,we need at least 3 wickets from this afternoon session !

honors even for the 1st session...we haven't bowled particularly well, very poor consistency, haven't kept it on one side of the pitch, and the English batsmen have capitalized...that being said, they weren't batting particularly well either, Strauss with a very nervy 40-odd.

need to bowl a LOT better in the 2nd session.

Agreed. Would have been out session had they reviewed that.

Oh well, game goes on.

indifferent session - our bowlers were spoilt in the first two tests on these slower pitches they will need to work harder for their wickets ad stay disciplined.

I think so Kamran Akmal dropped a catch.. he need punishment... but to be fair.. Regarding Review Thinking When Umpire who is in front cant get it right its bit difficult for Wicket Keeper from behind to judge it ...

But For That DROPPED Catch... I WANA KICK him and STICK his HEAD.. and SLAP on FACe ... anything else i can do looools

Who was the umpire? Ashoka again? As i said before England is playing with 13 players.

So far we've taken four wickets had it all gone right. How different the day could have been.

I think Waqar will have a go at them. He should actually tell them to be abit active on the feild. They have been pathetic on the feild. I think they should attack more and don't give easy runs. The magic ball will come and so as wickets.

Message for the second session is to be proactive on the feild.

at that critical stage in the session it was worth taking a gamble with the review if you are not going to use your reviews against the batsmen when are you going to use them? Looks like karmrans head is all over the place.

Nasser was saying since it would have just clipped, it would have been given not out.

confusing really.

I wanted to ask the same question as well, was the entire ball within the stumps or clipping it. If it is the latter than I think it would be not out as per the review system.

I did not get to see the replay, so which was it?

Exactly, keep them safe for what? Tailenders? Imagine England being 3 down now, huge pressure on KP and Collingwood.

Chill out guys, you'll see a different, rejuvenated team after lunch, the spinach will make them stronger.

IIIRC it was clipping leg stump.

We would've definitely gotten the edge had we taken the review.
But it was a tight call.

Looking back now, its more or less even, but perhaps we gave 20 more runs in the session than we would have liked.

This is different ball game to the Aus series and different conditions. We need to restrict them below 350 and for that another bowler needs to come to the party. But real test will come when we bat as 20/30 wont do this time.

I'd imagine Strauss got something like 65-70% of his runs through square leg...very poor L & L.

o Bhai, why are you always sure that you are right!!!

It was hitting good part of leg stumps...And commies said had they referred, the decision of umpire would have been over ruled!!

did you not hear what Nasser said immediately after that?

Guys it was not clipping 80% of the ball was hitting the leg stump and Nasser said it would have been given out.

Correct. The pitch is already turning on day 1...and we'll be batting last....

Can't afford to give too many runs in this inns....Asif and co. need to up their game in the second session.Aamir bowled brilliantly,so he needs to maintain his standards..!!

salman needs to put a man at silly point when kaneria is bowling. we need to attack.

Regardless of how it looked, Hawkeye suggests it is out.

and hawk eye is not always right and Pakistani fielder dont have hawks eyes!!

Mohammad Aamer to Trott, no run, 138.2 kph, struck on the pad, huge appeal from Aamer! But that hit him above the knee roll, and may well have been shooting down the leg side with the angle from round with wicket. Replays suggest that would have hit the top of leg, and if Pakistan had reviewed that it would've been out! Didn't look like it on the first viewing though...

Nice to see Aamer bowling really well.... just wish Kamran Akmal would stop dropping easy catches!

did you not hear what Nasser said immediately after that?

*facepalm*

Bhai jan,You must have seen three boxes when they showed the hawk-eye...

Boxes read
Pitched: Outside
Impact:Inside
Wicket:Hitting

The umpire decision would have been upheld had it just clipped the stumps and the wicket column would have read: ON FIELD DECISION BUT the ball was hitting more than 70% of the leg stump...

And I am sure Nasser and co said that had they taken the UDRS,batsmen would have been given out..!!!!

come on man it never looked out in real time it hit him over knee roll

Forget the review time to move on bowl tight field well and wickets will come and then 267 oh I cant wait.

It did look to be going down on first look, though, to be honest.

Anyway, not to worry boys and girls. Our bowlers will make the ball talk with the old ball - mark my words. Asif and Gul will come to the party after 50 or so overs. I can see England topping 300 though - this is a good batting track. We'll have to show the world we can handle a bat over the next few days.

Thats your opinion...Most of PPers here are saying that it looked out in real time..

well they are also sayin that after seeing the hawk eye it looked that it will slide down with the angle and it hit him very high too!!!

England are ahead but not much. The next session will be important, we need at least 2 more wickets but ideally 3 otherwise Pakistan will be playing catch up throughout the whole match.

Yup,but certain Ahmed Zulfiqar doesnt believe us..!!

If it was only clipping, then it would have been given not out.

that's what I am saying.

in this case, if it was hitting, then it would have been overruled.

Sreekumar has an offer: "as a person of indian origin i hereby make an offer to the peopel of pakistan. Mohammed Aamer for Kashmir. fair deal?

Haha, that's not the case with you. You misunderstood Nasser's comment and took it upon yourself to enforce your misunderstanding.

UDRS gave him out. However, I was a bit unsure when I saw it first time around, it seemed to me to be going down the leg side. Since it's only session 1 and since Trott has been living dangerously I wouldn't take any desperate measures yet. Trott managed to get a few runs against the 8th worst Test bowling attack (any guesses for no. 9?). But he is a 'do takay ka' batsman and will get found out in this series as he did against South Africa.

No, Kashmir is Pakistan's anyway, it was a betrayal to not hand it to Pakistan. But tell him, Dravid for Kamran.

when has Asif ever reverse the ball?
