:out I don't get why Starc was dropped for Bird.

Starc would be worth a million in this situation

Starc is a real flat track tailender, look at his batting stats he has made a few huge scores on dead tracks and a whole heap of single figure scores in between.

Starc also would have sprayed the ball all round on day 1, no way we keep the English scoring rate as low as we did with him in the side.

Ball seems to be doing less today than yesterday despite it being overcast like yesterday.

what a beauty

Harris confirms my belief that hes better than Jimmy when fit

Here comes Kevinder to open the innings

Great comeback but still a long way to go.

I wonder what the highest run chase in test cricket is on this ground. I cannot find the stat.

There has being like two tests- against Bangladesh and the Windies.

Ah. Too small sample size then. Watson talked on Sky TV this morning before the match and said they would like to chase 150 or 200.

Harris in form is only second to

Harris is damn good. Miles better than Anderson and Broad. Wonder why he was not chosen for the first Test?

If his damn body had not let him down over his career he would probably have 200+ wickets and be considered a modern great.

Aussies can have us 5 down by tea if they bowl to their capabilities.

Poor shot from Cook really.. He's looked badly out of touch. Trott looks to have regained some form in this test.

Inside edge narrowly misses the stumps

Is it the pitch or the batting? 8 wickets have gone down today already and it's barely 2 o clock.

Trott :out caught down legside as per plan

The pitch doesn't look as bad as it did yesterday. Root got a Jaffa, Cook chased a wide one that moved away and Trott fell for the trap Australia laid for him on the leg side after a good line from Harris. Harris on FYAHH

Get the Lion on and let's see what mood KP is in :27:

Bell and Pietersen are both poor starters. This could go south quickly.

Lucky..Bell was late on that..could have easily popped up in the air.

What are you doing Clarke! You don't want to over bowl Harris..

33 for 3 & this is a different surface as soon as there is cloud cover .

250 will be a darn good score imo Eng will fancy their chances with something around 200 to defend

We are only on day three. Less than 200 means Australia are going to bat from the morning of day four. Fourth day wicket will not make 200 a big challenge.

cmon clarkey get into em what the heck is this :watson

IW, last session of day 4 will be washed out & cloud cover is expected in first 2 sessions also.

Anything over 200 will take some getting imo. Hasn't looked like a wicket where a batsmen can just get in and pile em up.

Finally some positive batting from the England batsmen.

IMO Clarke missed a trick by bowling Watson and a tired Harris at these 2 when they were new at the crease. Should have unleashed the lion early on.

200 means a lead of mere 168. 32 runs in a small chase makes a big difference.

Ian Bell has changed the momentum yet again. By far England's best batsman on current form.
