This is looking like a draw- If India some how manages to draw this with rain, i think they will have a new ray of hope and will come full guns blazing at trent bridge with bumrah fit. It is so important for England that they win this test match and not let India escape. India escaped in 2007 because of bad light and won the series with excellent bowling in nottingham. They might get saved here and win in nottingham as well

England should bat 10 more overs, take the lead slightly past 300 and then put the Indian kittens in to bat.

300 will further bruise India psychologically.

Half of the Indian team will be out for cloudo phobia, the rest will give in to bundle out in 2 sessions. I had predicted 250 lead. There was no point in declaration as Light was deteriorating and in case of inning change, umpires probably would call off the day.

Now the pressure of inning defeat will probably be too much to handle for the THE BEST TEST team in the world :87:

England should just declare now. A 250+ lead is already more than enough. 9 out of 10 times, the opponent will lose by an inning margin.

Unfortunately a very one sided test series is now on the cards. At least, the first test was competitive.

Today was an excellent bowling day - especially in the morning (but not as good as yesterday). India could not take advantage and looked toothless,

Pandya was described by Vaughan and Agnew as ‘cannon fodder’ - and Kuldeep is not a test bowler based on this outing but too early to tell.

An innings defeat unless weather intervenes.

How dare they call Pandya a 'cannon fodder'? :inti

Sanjay Manji isn't bad at heart, he likes PAK team - problem is, guy has to earn his living from BCCI & Indian media. Some years back, I was listening a discussion panel in some channel (or game commentary, forgot now) and SM said that in 90s PAK dominated IND simple reason being they were better, far better in bowling and their batsmen were more aggressive against our bowling........... there was a complete silence for few seconds. He was definitely grilled enough that day after the show and next time I heard him (either in same game or next episode), guy strictly avoided even words starting with P .... :(

Very true. Sensation sells.

I've been good bro :)
Currently working in an insurance co.in Mumbai.
How have you been?
On topic : I think England should declare when they reach 250 and put India in. They might win the game by tomorrow.

Alhamdulliah I've been well, got caught up with a bit of work so I couldn't reply promptly.

On Topic: 250 run lead has been achieved! I think they'll go for some slogging 1st hour tomorrow and then put India to bat with something close to a 300 lead. If India knuckle down for a day, and with rain for the last day, you guys can still walk scrap a draw here. Just need a bit of luck and one or two blokes to put their hands up while putting a massive price on their wicket.

I didn’t say that England weren’t taking Pakistan seriously; what I said was that the Pakistan series were merely a glorified warmup for the main event of the English summer - the Indian Test series.

This series would define whether it was a good summer for England or not. If they win this series (which they will), no one will remember that England drew a series with a mediocre, 7th ranked Pakistan team. No one except Pakistani fans.

Similarly, had they won that series but lost this one, that win wouldn’t have mattered.

It's common sense that a series of 5 tests is more important than a series of 2 tests. However, it does not make a shorter series a glorified warmup.

I'm just going to leave this here:
