They are on top now.

This is what is so good about England's approach. It is very robust.

There's a lot of room for things to go wrong and you can still win.

When you play the old-school way, if you eat deliveries and then go it's GG.

The 'robust' approach is what kohli do. Pick singles and doubles. Play with the field approach, no risk and yet maintaining a healthy run-rate. Kohli, gambhir are master of that approach. Unfortunately kohli is in bad form and gambhir is well past his best. where as Rahane neither can play shot , not can take single singles.

Robust means can succeed when things go wrong.

Fragile means anything goes wrong and you are in trouble.

Fragile things can work as well as robust things, but the issue is that they need very high success rates to function.

Hitting out like England are doing leaves a lot of room for error. When you eat up balls early on, if you fail the team is in huge trouble.

Enforcer: The problem is you are conflating Kohli's approach with a good result.

That's like me claiming Morgan's attacking approach is only what happened in the first 4 games and I just ignore when it doesn't go right.

Attacking failures give room for the rest of the team to make up for you. That's why it's robust. A more measured approach has to succeed more often or you're in trouble. England only ever need one or two of their army of sloggers to come off in any given game and they will tend to win.

Buttler is established, but Bairstow will be in the frame as a batter. He's played as a specialist batter before so he's not out of it.

Bairstow dropped by Ronchi earlier as well, his day today.

Not sure robust, more like clutch. Especially in tests, whenever there is a close encounter I expect England to win it.

Poor Mathieson, debut and he's essentially given the match away in his last over (though England was looking good anyway, but it was still close).

well done jonny Bairstow! well done england! excellent inns!

well done england a brilliant competative ODI series!

Well done England. Great series!

We really look a different side without Boult. Southee is out of form and Mathieson admittedly got a raw deal although he kept bowling the slower length ball filth. Wheeler and Santner are big positives from this series although Santner probably cost us the series with that drop.

What a series and what a wonderful win for England. Amazing turnaround from the WVMC disaster.

Special win today. One of the best comeback wins in recent times.

Terrific game, great fightback from England.

It shows what their approach is about. They have 9 batters and they aren't scared to let all of them play.

They don't believe all this "One of the top 3 has to do X" nonsense.

Trust all your batters; either win the game yourself but if you don't make sure it's not out of reach for the others.

Congrats England! Please do this against Australia.

I can't wait to see England vs Australia ODI's because if they play like this, it could be one of the greatest ODI series of all time.

They're one series out of a dismal WC. Perhaps wait till you anticipate the greatest ODI series of all time?

This one series is evidence of a totally changed approach.

The personnel are also very very different, and obviously better.

What a turn around by england.

Finally they have found out how to play ODI cricket.

Pakistan will be whitewashed next year in england and probably in UAE as well this year.

Just checked the score. Strewth! - I thought England were dead and buried at 44-5.

What an amazing series! Thanks to the Kiwis for being such wonderful guests and playing cricket in the right way - tough but gentlemanly.

Outstanding fight back.

This new look England look so much more aggressive and confident.

I didn't watch the ENG innings due to the rain delay and then we had some visitors and a little soiree.

Have to watch the highlights now.
