So the match situation:

England 184
Pakistan 350/8 (110 ov)
Stumps - Pakistan lead by 166 runs with 2 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Simple question. Can Pakistan take an unassailable 1-0 lead in this 2 match series today?

There is no need for Babar Azam to bat, Pakistan shall look for quickfire 10 odd runs, with a lead of 175, our initial target shall be an innings defeat and that is definitely a possibility. In worst case scenario Pakistan shall not be chasing more than 70-80 in 4th innings.

Haha that would be a demoralizing for England if it happens, I expect them to fight back and set Pakistan atleast 120-150

So the weather this morning is exactly like the previous two days. It’s cloudy and raining.
It’s forecast to stop raining soon and then sunny, warm weather from this afternoon.

Any run we can eek out this morning will be a bonus.
Then I back our bowlers to do the job and keep England below 250 in second innings.

Without scatter gun Wahab and Rahat we now actually have a very disciplined bowling unit so scoring won’t be easy for England. I think Abbas will bowl beautifully again, hitting top of off stump.

England will have to bat cautiously and I think they’ll cut out any risky shots to avoid being destroyed again by the press and pundits. So they’ll be in two minds and this should work in our favour.

This is it lads. Today is judgment day.

England will fight back and knowing we’re a batsman down could play on our minds and give them a boost.

We’ve won 6 sessions so far, win 2 more and avoid a terrible one should be the plan.

First up get another 25 runs and get Cook and Root early 🙏🏽

Pakistan to wrap up the match today!
Hopefully Amir gets a 5 wicket haul and shows that he still hasn't lost his skills of 2010.
Key wicket will be Cook, if we get him early along with Root, we will seal the match today.

First target should be to frustrate England for 4 to 5 overs. Then bowl with discipline like they did in the 1st innings. Insha Allah victory will be ours.

Frustrate them as much as humanly possible.

Dangerous signs for England. Abbas looks set for a double :jimmy

Amir not using the bat Virat gave him. Smart. He actually wants runs in England :misbah

Best day for batting. Sunny, no swing, no seam, surface not cracking up yet.

lead of 179 , pakistan should not allow them to score more than 280. anything more than this will be tricky.

We all know how Amir bowls in London when we have a huge lead :virat

Abbas is a real tail ended :))

The conditions are great for batting though. Shadab will be key in this innings now.

A good, healthy lead for Pakistan.
Expecting a innings win for Pakistan.

Put it this way, pak won't be able to chase 150 so if England get into 300 plus territory then its game over

Ideally we restrict England below 350 but these are excellent batting conditions with the sun out now.

If only one of our main batsmen stayed on we cud have batted Eng out of the game

Pretty good batting by Pakistan and a fantastic 179 lead to work with.

Going to be a little tougher to bowl now but what they can't allow is for England to put 400 runs. With Pakistan down Babar in the game, a 220 target or so would be pretty challenging.

We’ve won the first half but Roots decision to bat first was based on the flatness of the wicket on days 3/4 and deteration day 5.

Still a long way to go, need to make the morning session count!

looks like great batting conditions now

Dont want to be negative but we really missed the opportunity to put Eng to the sword. No batsmen carrying on, Babar's break, Shadab's unlucky dissmisal and most of all Safraz's stupidity

Are you still complaining despite 179 lead ?
