England made 420 first up at Cardiff against the Aussies, but were still overhauled comfortably. I reckon there are a lot of runs in this pitch if the batsman applies himself.

broad to maharoof, no run, huge appeal from broad, as he sets off towards cover in half-celebration ... But hang on, the umpire doesn't agree. Broad has a word with his captain, and they're going to review this. The ball seamed in quite sharply and struck him on the back leg as he propped forward, but that's hit him well outside the line. good work by umpire dar, total waste of a review
400 is a must on this pitch. We'll struggle to win tests till we find some match winning bowlers from now on.
Broad 0/72.
How many feel this match is going for a tie no play for half a day yesterday. Did not have a early start today
Whippy lovin' it?
I don't know why they didn't do the early start this morning. An early start brings 7 extra overs, and doing that for 4 days would have equalled a lost session. Weird.
Good job, Sri Lanka. Regardless of the English response, SL did a much better job of hitting the ground running than what Pak did last summer.
Broad should get a warning for match ref for way he reacts and over appeals etc...
hes a moron!
So england have wasted both reviews in space of an over )
Who is the referee not his dad right ?
Can see England being 200/0.
England have done well to pick up 6 wickets on a pretty placid surface.
where is the best-spinner?
This pitch is so dry and looks a flat belter
It does turn here, Hauritz did pretty well in 2009. Oddly enough Swann and Panesar did abysmally, but the team was having a collective bad game. Swann doesn't look at his best here either, but he remains crucial if England are to take the 20 wickets on such a dry pitch.

Herath anyone?
yeah possibly. bet he gets at least 3 wickets with one of them being KP.
I have to say I am seriously impressed with the batting and temperament of the Sri Lankan players. they have reached 300 with little incident and against the seaming ball with 4 players reaching half centuries. Had it been the Pakistan line up, I would have bitten your hand off if you offered me 300 all out!
This session clearly belongs to SL
They've edged every session so far.
