shame for the lad, his first mistake really. that's how hard test cricket is. good innings.
 
I can't help thinking that Sri Lanka are scoring too slowly too steal a decent score.
 
P.Jayawardene at 6? Bit of a rubbish batting lineup surely?
 
Tremlett's action is weird, doesn't use his leading arm that much.

Broad strengthens the batting line up and does grunt work.

Finn costs too many runs.

Oh and Samaraweera is the mightiest FTB of all.

Pretty bold stuff by SL to go bowler heavy, that is their weakness so they have brought in the extra. Good to see sides coming out in a series away trying to win it.

If Broad doesn't get wickets in this test then Shahzad must be worth a go. Looks a really good bowler.

England should capitalize here soon.Should get them out for max 325 above that maybe heading for a draw

England would be disappointed to only have taken 2 wkts this morning.
 
Lunch is just round the corner...Sri lanka would find it hard to digest should they lose a wicket here now.
 
If Samaraweera scores a 100, do we congratulate him or curse the pitch for its flatness?
 
Good approach from Prasanna, stepping out to Trott, not letting him get too settled.
 
Still even Stevens. Couple of scalps just after lunch would change the game completely.
 
Good come back from England early on, but a nice partnership building now. Next session should be good for battting

400 is still too much. But if they dont loose early wickets post lunch, then they wont be far from a realistic draw. I dont see SL having firepower to blow English batters

Slight advantage England. 4 down is a good effort on this pitch.

New session always brings the chance of a couple of quick wickets too.

Maharoof could get a few though, he's been in good form.
