What's new

India [145, 49/0] roll over England [112, 81] inside 2 days with 10-wicket win in 3rd Test; lead 2-1

Not out.

Well the TV umpire didn't rush this time and went through all the angles.

NZ wickets are flat and nothing happens for spinners on Day 5. Hence, they produce green wickets so that they could get results.

Yes, and I see no problem with that.

I didn't have a problem with the pitch at Chennai either, those complaints weren't warranted. It rewarded the skill of the batsmen and the spinners.

However, a pitch where Joe Root is turning it square is simply not on.

It was always going to look like pad first from mid off angle. You have to go by the straightest angle view to avoid illusions and that showed it was bat first. Indian commies will cry through.

Harsha sounding like the Indian posters on here, Swann pointing out the puff of dust to him after every ball and harsha changes the topic :))

All that crying by England yesterday worked on the 3rd umpire and he gave a wrong decision now. Not enough to overrule the onfield umpire.

Lucky Root :)

Root got absolute lucky. Benefit doubt in the review goes with the on field umpire's decision. 3rd umpire strikes again.

Is this the first time ever groundsmen have to clean the pitch during every drinks break?

Good to see some Pak posters have emerged from their busy PSL schedule that had been occupying them, last couple days :smith

Skill levels in this test have been poor overall. Pitch a poor one aswell.

Problem is both sides tend to complain a lot when things dont go their way. But ENG historically have been poor that regard. Especially this side which has had an episode of crying every year over the past 3-4 years

This is an outrageously tight game. The margins on every incident are so minuscule.

Third umpire has been consistently poor in this series and this instance was no different.

Root wants to play a 50(120) innings pitch won’t let him better to score quickly before you get out to a wicket ball.

That’s true , but there’s no defending this pitch, games gonna be done in 2 days

I live here so can't be anti-national :))

Anyway, international cricket > PSL circus cricket for me. Haven't seen a single full match since 2018.

After this I'm watching West Indies-Sri Lanka.

I think Stokes should have reviewed it to see if it was missing.

Root had been so lucky in this series. Was reprieved in last test as well.

Keep hearing about Ollie Pope's talent but he needs to start producing knocks of substance instead of being known for theatrical dives in the field, as impressive as they are.

I feel for guys who bought stadium tickets for third day.
Normally considered moving day in test cricket

Like I said yesterday, it’s embarrassing to see this pitch as an Indian fan. A pitch where Joe Root takes 5 wickets in 6 overs is a complete joke.

This reminds me of watching the matches in Sri Lanka when Murali was bowling on those turning Sri Lanka tracks...

Poor pitch, but headless batting as well.

You got to play in all kinds of pitch. Batsmen are simply looking like a headless chicken. Not using their feet at all.

Not sure if this venue gets the next game! Probably might get shifted to somewhere else! A slap on the face of "biggest stadium"!

What a Bowler Axar Patel is! Totally outclassed Ashwin on this pitch. Has 15 wickets in 2 tests against the world #1 batting unit. Dream stuff! He's gonna destroy many records in the near future for sure.

That’s not easy too there’s variable bounce short leg and other close in fielders can get a catch from extra bounce.

Which channel is showing the match in UK/Europe?

Both sides were 70-80 for 2 in the first inning. Getting all out before 150 is simply horrible batting. Let's see how much target is set by Eng here and how Indians bat in the second go.

The foot movement has been nonexisistent all match

Yeah, that's what I have noticed from all batsmen. It's like batsmen are facing turner for the first time in their life. Not using feet at all and crying about pitch reflects poorly.
