Contrary to popular opinion, I feel South Africa definitely have a chance to win the game. If they bat positively with Amla anchoring one end, I see no reason why they cannot win the game.
 
People mocking Kohli & India for desperation to play would have done the same if Kohli complained about the pitch before the 3rd innings... They would have said Indians are feared about whitewash! Well, Kohli might have made some bad decisions on this tour, but his desperation to win is highly appreciable!
 
I have a Feeling that Quinton De Kock is playing for his career today in Tests, he is due a big innings his express innings might be crucial in this chase. Proteas are not going to give up easily. I feel Proteas to win this Test match by 2 wickets.

Playing for career could not work in this series so far! The pitches are too tough...

Sissies now delaying tactics from south Africans. Reasons - some issue with outfield, dampness in the pitch etc. They are completely nullifying the morning advatage of bowlers.

pre match show: both Sanjay mangrekar and Jonty Rhodes feel, SA taking home advantage too far, they said "can't remember last time start was delayed for dampness in the pitch".

That's because normally bowling teams are allowed to use the dampness in the pitch.

fair enough, no one has batted on damp pitches before, specially sa, they are known for batting on square Turner not on damp bouncy pitches
 
Is this genuine, or deliberate delay? At the end, I don't think Kohli's call of batting first wasn't the worst one. This venue should be banned for one season.
 
This is seriously getting joke. They didn't played yesterday, they are not playing in morning when bowlers get help. Reason is dampness, wow🙏, let's wait till sunshine comes, Sa will be on field. I know you want to maximize your chances of winning but this is not the way. Both umpires are just helping for a joke reason.
 
Heavy Roller has been used (soft roller has been used in last 2 days), totally unacceptable... Pitch will be flat now and South Africa will probably chase it down..

There are some Laws of cricket that need to addressed and adhered, this dead rubber which is still 50/50 has certainly blinded some Team Indian fellaz. Do you want all ICC Trophies in bag and do you want Faf du plessis to forfiet the match ? I think you shall be declared winners in all formats. That will put this discussion to an end. ICC shall award you all trophies. Happy ?

Can someone explain how the roller rules work, I thought you are allowed to pick which roller before going into bat but after that until the innings ends it is always light roller that is used.

Choice of roller is under batting sides discretion - only 1st morning before toss, groundsman has the choice. After that, start of every day & every new innings are on batting side. Normally, side batting 4th doesn't use heavy roller, but this is basically a 2.5 day wicket and IND has left Ashwin - every team would have used the heavy roller.

It's choice of the batting side - 7 minutes before start of every day (2nd day on wards), and 10 minutes before start of an innings.

Among most complicated games, because the game has too many factors. Also, because of duration, lot more areas need to be covered. Beside cricket is actually the oldest of existing modern games - first rule book of cricket was written probably 1744 - when none of other modern popular games even existed.
 
Another piece of great captaincy from the chump, why give the new ball to your best bowler give it to your most wayward one.

Fair enough.. their first innings collapse will be on mind of the indians.. however i just feel the way batsmen are carefully playing these first overs and if india doesnt get couple of wickets atleast batting cnditions should become easier soon..

Think sometimes as fans we feel that these players are superhumans :) Fact is that every ball Elgar misses or Amla mistimes is playing in their minds. Remember 'Choker' tag is most associated with SA.

Fully agreed... Its gonna be fun to watch the finishing of this match..may the best team win.. It would have been very interesting to see how a spinner would have fared on this pitch..could have been a very handy variety to have

Probably rolled up heavily.. Anyways good decision by faf to not play yesterday, this math is won by FAF’s captaincy.. Credit where credit is due.

India would have got 2 more wickets yesterday had they not stopped the play. We lost all the advantage yesterday.

We would be day 5, no wickets falling then suddenly Wasim would make a breakthrough and 20 overs later Pakistan win!

Yesterday even good length deliveries jumped above waist height, today even short pitch deliveries aren't bouncing that match. Pitch has flattened out considerably
