What's new

India [289/3] defeat Australia [286/9] by 7 wickets and win 3rd ODI; Win series by a 2-1 margin

cummins needs a rest, should not have played this sereis in the first place, bowling way too much.

one can see the effect of s tiring season on him

infact, he may end up a test specialist, jhye richardson is a much better choice in limited overs

He is a true team man. Bowling everything at 145k.

Yes because I have no faith in Shreyas. Let him prove us wrong.

Let us not be harsh on him. Even i have suspicion about his skills against pace. But we should not chop and change willy nilly before giving them a run. This is not such an important series

I think Iyer will handle Cummins and Hazlewood okay. But not sure about Starc. The angle, height, bounce

If he can’t face pace even now then He should sit at home and eat yoghurt rice.

Salute Bumrah!! It's not ease for any bowler in bowl in bangalore.

Australia is truly missing bowler like Bumrah in this run case.

First ODI was exception..

Two short and wide balls, 8 wides. Those are the major contributory . Still he was very good.

Kohli and Rohit are ATGs of ODI cricket so for any team to win they need to get them out and not many teams have been able to do that consistently enough.

You really think he has potential? Iyer. I hope so. I am probably a bit harsh but yes I have seen him struggle vs bounce.

Look at his positives. He roates strikes better than some of the players we had recently. HE doesn't play selfish cricket. He goes after bowling when needed.

HE is like any other great batsman. Get him very early in the first 2 or 3 overs. Once he is set , even when he is scratchy will win the match.

He was good but wicketless.Shami had more impact with wicket of Warner early on and brilliant death bowling

In my opinion unless Gill is ready for no 4 position Shreyas Iyer is best of the lot for no 4 considering everything.

True but that doesnt happen often considering the solid technique they both have. If the bowl is moving a bit then there is a chance.

I strongly see that Australia is scared to play shots against him. He might be not getting the wickets but required pressure is built.

But he is playing in BBL .

Leagues and domestic cricket is not much pressure in comparison to what international cricket has to offer. That is why we have seen even Trescothick playing domestic cricket after he retired from international due to mental health issues.

If you see matches against West Indies, they were murdering our bowlers because no pressure was created.

Bumrah is class ..

Ofcourse.Best bowler around.I was just talking about today

I believe Bumrah can bowl faster than he did today.Still not in that rhythm after injury

Trescothick had issues with travelling.Homesickness I guess

I think he needs to read the short ball better. That’s the issue with Iyer, he can clearly play every other type of ball. He smashed that Yorker well. Read the short ball well.

Jonathan Trott had same issue I think .when I watched him in 2011 world cup ,he was so classy.

Did you see the next shots. HE has this inborn aggressive intent. That is something we have been missing from the guys like selfish Rayudu. Karthik is an amazing puller and hook shot player. But zero consistency.

Always watch the bowler’s head and judge how far they drop. If the bowler’s face is directly parallel to the pitch then you know it’s going to be a bouncer. A you really have to hit the deck hard to bowl a bouncer.nif Iyer works on this he can become real good.

I agree now. Clearly his issue is actually reading the short ball. Needs more experience. He need to pick it up quicker.

Raina, Azhaurddin many players had issues. Steve waugh. He was never comfortable against short ball all his life. It is how you manage it.

Yup.not such a huge issue.Ganguly also had issues yet had a successful career

Bumrah is already best ever bowler from India (He surpassed even all spinners from India). His next target is only to compete with the ATG bowlers from World History (He is also bowling in this batting friendly era!) Never ever I had so much confidence watching an Indian bowler bowl...! He is the difference in this match too... (The target would easily have been 320+)

Seriously though; what is the purpose of this series? India would have been better served had they went to NZ couple weeks early and got used to the conditions there.
