India [347/9d] beat Bangladesh [106 & 195] by an innings and 46 runs in the 2nd Test

Ishant sharma now averages less than zaheer khan.

Ishant
Avg:32.94
Zaheer
Avg 32.95

This guys career has taken a 180 turn, he has done what we expected from him when he debuted 13 years ago.

My favourite bowler for sure.

Senior BD batsmen were pathetic. Mushfiq scored a duck. Kayes scored 4. Mahmudullah scored 6.

It is difficult to compete when your main guys are not performing.

Welll...its going to be awkward for our guys as well, its swinging in the air and off the wicket....lets see

Bangladesh could have beaten india if there would have been shakib and tamim here. Fluke wins

Yeahhhhhh.....:)....remarkable how he has turned it around.....its the lenghts he bowls thats improved, his wrist is straigher...and he's also become physically stronger......Maybe the hair cut also helped ...:)....but seriously, some of the deliveries he's bowled against SA and bang could challenge any batsman anywhere...

Lets see what rohit sharma is upto.
The ball will swing and i don't expect much from him but at least he"ll get an idea of how the ball will behave in New Zealand.

In last 2-3 years he has been world class. In fact one of the best in the world.

One of the most underrated fast bowkers. He's not in the limelight as much as Shami Yadav or Bumrah but his record is up there

Poor timing. Should've dismissed BD later. Now it will swing, plus twilight. Game on

He has surely worked on his wrist, also the amount of swing he generates these days was beyond imagination in 2015.

He is surely the second best swing bowler in the world.

The golden boy finally living upto the expectations

I think we should start counting India too in SENA countries with the kind of wickets they are producing. SENAI?

Interesting, means 2 different things in Bengali and Hindi. Crowd should desist from being so crude especially when PM of Bangladesh is in attendance, banter can be done in right spirit.

No it means 'crippled' not 'nude' lol. It is the same in Hindi too. Mainul prolly didn't read it right.

Ball swinging miles but BD bowlers all over the place with their line and lengths. To be able to use a swinging ball is also an art.

Think losing Shakib was a big blow for BD. I am sure if he was playing...story of this series would have been different.

SENAI....Good one....But seriously, we are producing good even bounce wickets...even in the SAF series they were evenly bounce...the key is even bounce-if it swings.seams/spins so be it.....but yeah...have seen so many dustbowl victories where it turns square from first day that such victories on such pitches makes many long standing indian supporters real joyful....The other big plus point is if this is duplicated in Ranji trophy elsewheree, we shall breed good slips and close in fielders..

Perhaps that's why Indian fast bowling has evolved too. They always had great batsmen and spinners and now competitive fast bowlers too. I think India will give NZ a run for their money in test l series

Can't believe Al-amin wasn't picked for the first match, he was by far the best bangladeshi bowler in t20 series too

At least they would have taken tests to 4th day. Right now it's pretty embarrassing.

Last time, they did take a Test to 15th session, which probably one of the performances in India by tourists in recent times, but these are different wickets. Today what I can see BD batsmen are stuck by a new weapon that they are identifying in a Test match - leg cutter. 5-6 bowled and all of them are through big gap in bat pad, means they are expecting the ball to leave or held its line, ball is jagging back.

They’ll learn for sure, but need to practice that at match condition as well. I know each batsman practiced hours against bowling machines facing 150km bouncers, but machines are programmed tools, it doesn’t have a bowlers mind.

We don’t have the idea of Test match bowler - wasted three years behind Mustafiz to extract one - that has cost his LO game as well.

This is the lowest runs made by a team against India in First inning.
Previous one was 116 by Pakistan.

I think it is first time in Indian cricket history, all tickets were sold out, full crowd.
Sold-out first first 4 days tickets is not a joke

Dada managed very well

I feel pity for people wasting their money because this match is gonna end tomorrow.

Never seen a cricket ball dart around so much in India. Bangla bowlers will be well served to pitch it up and make the most of these conditions. Very good chance of limiting India to 150 and thereabouts.

And that drop will ensure that we will have a dud opening against NZ in swinging conditions. Going to be 1 down for not much in every test there.

Yeah, because if he had not shelled it, Virat and Co were about to drop Rohit. Get real and get a clue.

They might have not dropped him, but alteast it would have played on their minds after a couple of failures in NZ. If Rohit failed in the 1st test, Shaw might have stood a chance. Now, Rohit will deliver one of his 100 (which he inevitably does after being dropped) and will play through the series in NZ. Instead we could be developing Shaw as a long term prospect.

Viraaat, i take back all the praise of Steve Smith being better than you from all my previous social media posts, please dont throw away your wicket...

Bangladesh has given good account of themselves considering all things against this jaggernot like India team

Batters struggling... not getting a move on still

Our RR is 3.5. What more do you want in a test?

It has dipped in the last half an hour or so, but I reckon thats because they do not want another wicket to fall today. Tomorrow, 1st two sessions they will target to score at a clip of 3.4 - 4 runs per over.

Ok. But if its such a struggle, will the pitch get negative rating (and also because of the two concussions that occurred) - or is it the nature of the pink ball?

Everything is different. Color of the ball, white clothes, under lights. So not sure what to expect. So it is better to be circumspect rather than play a silly shot and get out. They have all the time in the world. 4 full days left to nail 10 wickets after taking a decent lead.

Nah bro.
1. The run rate - is not bad at all. Both teams scored at 3 RPO. That wont get a -ve rating.
2. Concussions - Thats more the batsmen and our bowlers. The pitch does have excellent bounce, but its not even like an Australian wicket.
3. Wickets falling - Even if the match finishes in 3 days, then they would look at how both teams batted. If India bats only once, and dismisses Bangladesh in 2 or 3 days, then its down to the difference in the 2 teams, and thus no -ve rating. If India also struggles, and nearly 40 wickets are lost in 3 days, then there would be a -ve rating.

Ok, got it. I take it that, there are many variables at play for -ve rating, but as of now is not a worry.

Not that it matters a lot, but dents the jubilation of a win a little bit if that happens.

In a way its good that we have Pujara and Ishant just for Test cricket and probably Rahane too now.

Not everyone are like Kohli to be able to play all the formats, hopefully these test specialists realize they have to play harder coz single format.

I didn't remember where indian spinner bowl only one over before bundling opposition, does it happen in Indian cricket history?
Indian seamers taking all ten wickets in an innings in home Tests:
vs Eng Mumbai (WS) 1981/82
vs WI Ahmedabad 1983/84
vs SL Kolkata 2017/18
vs Ban Kolkata 2019/20

We probably should bat the first 2 sessions tomorrow and finish it off in the night session.

Iam not talking about taking wickets, the overs bowled by the spinners in an innings.
Only one over bowled by the jadeja.

yes much bigger and stronger now. he looks bulked up compared to his scrawny self before.

Well done ishant. Great bowler. Hopefully he ends hi career with an average of 28-29.
