Ashwin expensive, but picks wickets.

England are almost done. Only Moen Ali and some all rounders left.

That is the best any bowlers can do on these pitches! Indian bowlers have done well on bowling-friendly pitches and won some matches as well when their batsmen let them down!

That was an anomoly for Bhuvi and he has been really good in ODIs including improvement in death bowling. However that is usual for Yadav
 
Ashwin should remember that LOIs is also about blocking runs! He should not try to pick wickets in every ball. The wicket-taking ball should actually become a surprise weapon in the over. This will prove even more costly in T20s where odd wicket doesn't even matter!

Ashiwn is tossing up the ball to get the batsman out. If he bowls flat, he might be more economical, but the chance of picking wickets greatly diminish.

India has 381 to defend. He can afford to flight the ball.

Exactly. Funny to see some talking cluelessly.

One could write an article on ashwin is doing this game mixing it up with flight, dip and flattish ones.

He changed up strategy this over.
 
Ashwin bowls legside crap when he tries to bowl defensive.

He's at his best when he's attacking.
 
England are a tremendous batting team. One of the best. They will not go down easily. They will score 320-340 easily from here.
 
Jaddu and Ash both are a great pair,they both complement each other,hopefully this continues outside India as well.

That's what he has to do in LOIs (at least 3 balls in the over). He has try for wicket only when there is desperation (breaking a partnership and situation going out of hand). LOIs is about sustaining pressure.

As according to strategy now where focus is on getting eng to implode under run rate pressure.

This guy is really good when he doesnt over rate his thinking ability.
 
The equation 145 runs with 5 wickets and 14.0 overs remaining
is a tough ask even in T20
 
This is where a guy like Raina would have been very handy. His off spinners are very good for a part timer. Not to forget his batting. Much better hitter than Pandya.

Should have sent Moeen Ali ahead of Stokes and Butler. He would have batted at run a ball and played out Jadeja and Ashwin. Butler and Stokes could have caused a lot of damage coming in around this stage with Jadeja bowled out and Ashwin 1 over to bowl.

Reckon turning point was the Stokes and Butler wickets. But never know if these 2 bat another 6 overs game is on.

Pak can only dream of scoring 264 in 38 overs irrespective of conditions.

They have kept this huge total well within their reach, eventually it wil; be something like 60 in 5 overs.
Then it is anybody's game!
 
India's fascination of making Pandya the new Kapildev should end.

Pandya is so inferior to being a good all rounder, its not even funny. The guy has no brain. Keeps bowling the same length over and over at 135 clicks.

Unless Pandya develops some variations like Faulkner, he should be no where near the team.

RRR went from 7.64 to 10.75, how they kept it in their reach?

I have always said Pandya is highly overrated slogger. His batting is not worth the pain with him as a poor 5th bowling option.

These two controlled overs might be the saving grace for India. Terrible bowling all around this match however.
