India tour of Australia (2024/25)

It's not about their desperation. It's about India's lack of decisiveness and ruthlessness for the team performance .It's so typical of a sub continent team.Going for a team on pr basis than performance.
Brother beating Australia in Australia two consecutive times is not a joke. Lets be realistic.
The win is Perth was a miracle.

I feel India lack a ball blunter like Pujara in this Tour.

Jadeja should not be preferred now for a lone spinner role as he is not contributing in both departments. I hope management sticks with washi for aus tour.I am not sure about easwarans technique.its a baptism by fire for sure on perth pitch for both easwaran and nitish

It will be tough not to play Ashwin when he is in squad

Jaiswal
Easwaran
Gill
Virat
Sarfaraz
Pant
Reddy
Washi
Siraj
Akashdeep
Bumrah

Most likely playing eleven for Perth test.
2 debutants that too against Australia in Australia??? Not sure about this.

@Ab Fan I find it hilarious how most Indian posters don't want to play ashwin for BGT. I thought he was one of the greatest spinners of this generation?

A goat spinner who no one wants to play in aus? Very nice

Okay bro. Whatever 🤦🏼🤦🏻
Ok bro. I don't rate lOI performances. It doesn't make you a legend. To be a great cricketer you need to be amongst the best test players.

I dont like chokers

And I absolutely hate stat padders.

India don’t have many options available anyways. They would hope a couple of pacers support Bumrah very well. Siraj was excellent last tour of Australia but now he is poor, he needs to turn things around.

One of Sundar or Jadeja will play at 7 and Ashwin will join them at 8 for 2-3 venues where there is enough for spinners.

Bowling isn’t all that good for India. Batting should do well on true bouncy pitches, KL will definitely be in XI and so would Rohit, Kohli and Gill. India will focus on winning one game at a time.
KL SHOULD NEVER EVER PLAY FOR INDIA EVER AGAIN.

It will be tough not to play Ashwin when he is in squad
It's about team combo rt.If all the batsmen are in form,India can have their best spinner .As of of no one looks good in form wise.So its better to load the batting with washi and he controls the runs.

It's not about winning bro.its about the preparation for the battle.if some one isn't even willing to prepare for the game ,it shows utter lack of respect for fans and viewers. Pujara is the last specimen of old style as even root changed his gears.

No option as Rohit will not available for 1st test ( likely)

But TM can play KL as an opener if they want.
No kl pls.that guy is a harm for any batting position. He was a opener later wk cum mo then mo.Failed in all positions for the longest period and let's hope he will be gone forever after the tour

That's your opinion. It doesn't make it correct.

Test, Odi and t20 are different formats and you can be good in one and be considered great in it but be bad in another.

However to be an atg you have to be good in all formats or at the very least in test and odi both as t20 is a format where inconsistency occurs the most so it isn't a proper metric.

For example YK is an avg odi batter. He's played gun odi innings but in odi he clearly underachieved. But in test he's very very good especially in spin friendly conditons, the same spin friendly conditons that aus and Eng suffered immensely in.

Similarly Kohli is clearly a better odi batter then he is a test one.

And Warner is clearly a superior Whiteball batter then a test one

Bro my issue with Indian fans is that they get aggressive first and then when I get more aggressive with them, they start whining and complaining. I'm also at fault since I obsessively overdo it, but they genuinely start it first.

Indian fans don't like hearing any negativity about their players, even though it's impossible? Their isnt a single player in history besides Bradman who doesn't have certain stain marks on their career, But not only are said stain marks not considered, their overglorified with narratives.

I can't have a meaningful discussion qith you, because you're not willing to listen to my viewpoint? My viewpoint is that odi, test and t20 are different formats.

You're not an atg unless you're good in both formats yes but you can't just say no this player is rubbish cause odi bad and I hate odi.

It's the same reason I don't glorify kohli. He had his golden period but he didn't maintain longetivity, His test and t20 career went down the drain. Due to his golden period he will remain an atg, but he clearly does not belong in the class of Lara, Pointing and viv. But Indian fans just don't wanna hear it.

And you don't wish to hear anything about odi cricket? Pointing is a rubbish captain and a rubbish player in your eyes, so their isnt any point discussing with you, unless you want another aggressive 5 year old drama start which I'm an expert in 🤣.

You already know of my opinion. Pointing is a terrific odi and test player but that test avg and performance in India is a massive stain, however that one stain shouldn't be used by fraud Indians who wish to dismantle the guy into next week cause he's aussie and not Indian.

The other stain on his career is that just like kohli, Post 2007 he became rubbish and it coincidentally tined qith aussie team mellowing down as a whole and unfortunately a narrative has been invented that he's medicore because he became medicore when the entire team became medicore.

That’s because we have another great all rounder in the team in form of Jadeja. I think Ashwin should play in Australia because we don’t have the quality in fast bowling aside of Bumrah.

Kallis is a better test player than Ponting.

So a goat spinner and one of the greatest of this era is in contention of not being taken or not being played?

That has never happened. If you're one of the greatest then you play, it doesn't matter if you don't fit the team combination either. The best do not need excuses.

Just acknowledge ashwin is rubbish in SENA. Their is virtually no narrative bowling wise that you can make. You'll probs find one or 2 good spells to justify a narrative but it's as meaningless as Yasir Shah managing to score a century in Australia lol.

Ironically PP is the first place I've seen Indians calling Ashwin a goat. Has never happened in any other platform.

Most view him and Kumble as an indian Spin home track bully lol?

So either Mamoon's post got to people's head, in which case I'd advise that you guys be more thick skinned, or you guys are hypocrites for bashing root and pointing in certain countries but holding different metrics for Ashwin

I think you have probably built a narrative based on 1-2 post where people basically tried to respond Mamoon who was trying to hype Root as GOAT and best since Bradman. Additionally, I never claimed that Ashwin is GOaT or even ATG.

I rate Ponting higher than Ashwin in Test cricket itself. My argument against Ponting was when he was compared with Tendulkar or S Smith. In a same way, Root is also better than Ashwin although not by much.

In case of Ashwin, due to his poor performance in SEN, he is perhaps more borderline ATG but he also adds a lot with his batting. In Australia, most spinners average extremely poor. Ashwin actually was significant in winning those two series with his all round performance in Australia. No Indian bowler did better than him in that 2020 series and he also contributed with a vital knock in Sydney, he was India’s best performer alongwith Pant in that series win.

Ashwin has been poor in SEN and that’s why I won’t have him as a true ATG but that does not stop him to be rated as a top bowler of this generation. There are simply none in last 20 years except Steyn and Bumrah who have done commendable away from home and Bumrah’s sample is low. Rabada averaged 29 sway from home vs non minnows. So, Ashwin is a top bowler of this generation as I claimed earlier but is he an ATG? Perhaps, borderline ATG I would say due to phenomenal impact in conducive conditions,i.e 11 player of series award to his name.

Their is no such thing as borderline ATG, he is a rubbish spinner overseas.

If he was an atg or even great he wouldn't be averaging the equivalent of a batsmen in aus and sa and heck his record is medicore everywhere in every country except India.

He is the very definition of a Home spin track bully.

One of the most rubbish spinners I've ever seen overseas and heck the less said about his wb career the better.

Top rated bowler of this generation my foot.

Nathan Lyon is 10x the spinner that Ashwin is, infact his own record in India isn't far off Ashwin despite the fact that he's an overseas bowler and lyon has managed 5 wicket hauls in every country.

The only area lyon is poor in is pakistan but that's cause the pitch was deliberately curated to ensure a draw where rubbish like Imam and Abdullah were batting like bradman on the 5th day and even pakistani media considered it as poor sportsman ship and England eventually had to put pakistan in its place for such duration.

Lyon has consistently been avg 14 to 30 in every country with consistent er's and consistent wickets.

Yet lyon is nowhere near as famous as this too bit fraud who'd somehow considered an atg?

Name the priemere spinners of top countries and I guarantee you their all much superior to Ashwin.

Even Satner would expose Ashwin has satner actually played more test cricket which he doesn't do unfortunately. Adam zampa would have exposed ashwin as well had he prioritised test.

As someone already posted, India lacks a Pujara type who can bring these Aussie bowlers to their knees and beg for mercy. They are weak anyway but a peak Pujara would've destroyed the bodies and minds of OZ bowlers for 5 Tests . No such figure in the team today.

A drawn test would be an achievement for this ageing team that desperately needs to transition

No.

You are playing only one spinner , if on last two days if the ball has some help for spinner , you need to have a solid spinner.

It's not about winning bro.its about the preparation for the battle.if some one isn't even willing to prepare for the game ,it shows utter lack of respect for fans and viewers. Pujara is the last specimen of old style as even root changed his gears.
I think BCCI told players to play domestic cricket.

BCCI needs to show balls and ask the top players the reason why they not play and be strict.

Aswin will come into play only after 3 days .if India can't drag match to 4th day against nz,how they will do it against aus in aus.its better to provide cover for the washed up superstars

Cummins eyes elusive win against 'under pressure' India

Australia skipper believes his side can draw confidence from New Zealand's shock series win in India

Pat Cummins believes India's historic first series loss to New Zealand at home could deliver his team an advantage and the Australian captain his last major Test achievement.

"I hope so," Cummins told AAP at the launch of his book 'Tested' in Sydney on Tuesday, just three weeks out from the start of Australia's five-Test series against India.

"I think any time a team's under pressure, it's not a bad thing if you're playing against them.

"But they've been out here before and performed well. Our job is to try and keep them quiet, see how we go."

Last week, the Kiwis claimed an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-Test series against India. New Zealand had failed to win any of their previous 12 series in India, going back to 1955.

Yet Rohit Sharma's men have performed so well in Australia that Cummins, now with 62 Tests under his belt, has never played in a winning series against them.

"It's kind of the one big thing that I want to tick off," Cummins said.

"Particularly winning at home. Most Australians, me included, expect us to do well whenever we play at home.

"We've lost the (last) two series against them (in Australia), so this is a big one. We feel like our team's in a really good place, so we've got no reason why we shouldn't perform really well.

"I just always expect us to do well against whoever we play. But India, particularly, is a big year, big season."

After losing a Test series in India early last year, Australia went on to have a spectacular 2023 against world cricket's superpower.

Australia beat India comprehensively in the World Test Championship final at The Oval ahead of the Ashes, then upset the overwhelming World Cup favourites in the final at Ahmedabad to claim that title.

But of all the teams Australia have played during their past 16 Test series, India are their only opponents they haven't beaten in a series either home or away. That includes twice in Australia, during 2018-19, when Steve Smith and David Warner were suspended, and 2020-21.

That 2020-21 series win by India was something special. India were bowled out for just 36 in their second innings during the first Test in Adelaide thanks to a superb bowling display on a grassy pitch which saw Josh Hazlewood claim five wickets and Cummins four.

Mohammed Shami did not bat in that second innings, having suffered a broken arm from a Cummins short ball earlier in the match which ruled him out of the tour. Virat Kohli returned home after the first Test in Adelaide in 2020 to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child.

Remarkably, a depleted India turned the tables on Australia with an eight-wicket victory in Melbourne and the Sydney Test was drawn.

An unproductive last day for the Australians at the SCG prompted captain Tim Paine to tell Indian allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin, and the cricket world via stump mic, the bouncy Brisbane pitch would pose a greater challenge.

"Can't wait to get you to the Gabba, Ash," Paine said as Ashwin batted for more than three hours to ensure a draw.

But an injury-riddled India created history in the series finale, scoring 7-329 in the last innings to claim victory by three wickets.

Master of PR campaign gaikwad dismissed for a duck on first ball. Eswaran too dismissed for 7

India should have dropped KL. His performance is not up to the mark for a long time now.

Where is jurel??

Just feel if our guys draw the first test in Perth, Optus stadium that itself will send the thunderflash up them Aussie trousers....
and their wannabe gungho's who are swinging from trees here...:) anyways....

I feel our best chance is to limit the damages till MCG boxing day -get here with 0-1 and not more....MCG and SCG are more to our liking and I'd back our guys to go big here....

Hope Shami gets fit and firing in the FC/Ranji matches....if there is one test that is tailor made for him....its Adelaide 3rd test ......the day nighter....else i dont trust our batting to last too long....

I just get the feeling the big difference is going to be provided by VK and some of the underrated guys like siraj etc....
but if we loose in Perth.....its gonna be one long summer for india and indian PP'ers and absolute nirvana for the others here....:)

Meanwhile good innings by the young guns Sai & Devdutt....
augurs well for the future....suddenly India has a lot of left handers on the horizon

It's good that gaikwad is completely getting exposed. Otherwise pr master must have tried to get ahead of deserved ones.Sai sudarshan have really showed all the hype around him as worthy with his solid technique.padikkal did well to stay till the end.

Only Aussie umpire can give a tight run as run out with out any third umpire check. @Devadwal have u seen easwaran's run out in second innings. It's another feather cap in Aussie umpiring giving the decision benefit to Aussies with out bothering for benefit of doubt to the batsmen/opposition.

Rohit Sharma confirms India A vs India cancelled - 3 day window at WACA will be utilised for centre pitch match simulation

No practice before BGT. :kp

Rohit may not play first test at all.so captain Saab will play in pink ball test directly on merit basis.its wonderful :misbah

Also saini had mcsweeney plumb and not given. Imagine how many rubbish decisions Aussies would have got in 2000 era lmao

India A cleared of ball-tampering as Australia win tour game by seven wickets

India’s A team have been cleared of ball-tampering and will escape any sanction, after initially appearing to be accused of causing scratches on it against Australia A.

In an explosive start to the summer, the A-match in Mackay threatened to boil over on Sunday morning when umpires changed the ball before play on day four.

Umpire Shawn Craig also appeared to lay the blame for the matter with the tourists, who surrounded the officials to complain about the decision to change the ball.

“When you scratch it, we change the ball. No more discussion, let’s play,” Craig could be heard saying on the stump microphone.

India’s wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was then warned by Craig he could face further sanction, after telling officials it was a “stupid decision”.

“You will be on report for dissent, that is very inappropriate behaviour,” Craig replied. “Because of your actions we changed the ball.”

However, officials opted against pursuing any further action after Australia wrapped up a seven-wicket win, with Nathan McSweeney pushing his Test case with an unbeaten 88.

“The ball used in the fourth innings of the match was changed due to deterioration,” a Cricket Australia spokesman said. “Both teams’ captain and manager were informed of the decision prior to the start of play. No further action is being taken.”

AAP understands there was no footage that showed how the ball had deteriorated, or any evidence that pointed to one particular player. Umpires also did not hand down a five-run penalty on field.

Kishan will also escape any sanction, with the matter now considered closed ahead of the next A-game starting in Melbourne on Thursday.

While occurring in an A-game, any fallout from the alleged incident would have had the potential to overshadow the start of the summer.

Kishan is not part of India’s Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins in Perth on 22 November.

Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, allrounder Nitish Kumar and batter Abhimanyu Easwaran are the only players in the India A side who are also part of the Test squad.

‘It might awaken a sleeping giant’: Kiwis’ India thrashing leaves Australia wary

New Zealand’s historic 3-0 Test series triumph in India could wake a “sleeping giant” of world cricket when Virat Kohli and his team of stars arrive in Australia shores later this month.

That’s the view of Josh Hazlewood, who says India’s confidence might have taken a blow ahead of a blockbuster five-Test series starting in Perth on November 22, but predicts a major bounce-back against Australia.

The Black Caps have created history in Mumbai, clean sweeping their three-Test series over India.

New Zealand became the first team to whitewash India 3-0 on Indian soil after a thrilling 25-run win in Mumbai on Sunday in which Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel took six wickets in the second innings.

It is just the second time since 2014 that India have lost three straight Tests, prompting speculation they could be vulnerable when they take on Australia.

“It might awaken a sleeping giant, so to speak,” Test quick Hazlewood told this masthead after the final day of NSW’s draw with Queensland in the Sheffield Shield. “We’ll see that when they come out.

“It’s obviously better them losing 3-0 than winning 3-0, easily. The confidence might have taken a bit of a hit. A lot of them have been out here, but there’s a few batters who haven’t, so they’ll be a bit unsure of what to expect. I don’t think you can read too much into it. The results are obviously good for us in a way.

“Credit to the Kiwi boys. They played outstanding cricket. To win 3-0 in India is unbelievable. It’s hard enough to win one game there, let alone every match of the series.”

India’s series defeat has left Australia on top of the World Test Championship ladder before a potential final on June 11 next year at Lord’s. It is likely Australia will need to win four of their remaining seven Tests to make it back-to-back World Test Championship crowns.

Selection chair George Bailey will watch the second Australia A game against India A at the MCG from Thursday with interest, before naming a 13-man squad for the Perth Test on Monday.

While A team captain Nathan McSweeney has furthered his case for a Test debut, the confident strokeplay of Tasmanian allrounder Beau Webster did not go unnoticed in Mackay. Top-order domestic stalwarts Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft will each be hoping for a big score at the MCG to make one more push for selection.

India, meanwhile, have sent Test squad members KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel to Australia early so they can play at the MCG. Neither took part in the third Test defeat but will be considered for the upcoming series. Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar has argued that Rohit Sharma’s side has erred by not scheduling a proper tour game before the Border-Gavaskar series begins.

“I really do believe that they should have a warm-up game,” Gavaskar told The Indian Express. “In the gaps between Test matches, they really should have warm-up games. Not necessarily for the senior players. But for the junior players who have never played in Australia before.

“For the Yashasvi Jaiswals, the Sarfaraz Khans, the Dhruv Jurels, all these young batters. Juniors must be given the opportunity to get used to the bounce and pitches in Australia.”

Monday marked the start of the men’s international summer, with Australia taking on Pakistan in a one-day international at the MCG.

As Test quicks Pat Cummins (2-39 off 9.4 overs) and Mitchell Starc (3-33 off 10 overs) impressed in Melbourne, Hazlewood spent his Monday buried in newspaper crosswords as NSW fought off Queensland to salvage yet another draw on a flat Cricket Central pitch at Sydney Olympic Park.

Players shook hands just after 4pm with the Blues 4-256 in their second innings, leading Queensland by 89 runs.

Hazlewood didn’t take a wicket in the match but said he wasn’t concerned after returning figures of 0-57 from 24 overs as Queensland amassed 5-406 in their only innings.

“I pretty much got out what I needed … very happy with how I bowled,” Hazlewood said. “Body felt surprisingly good. The longer I went, I think the better that I felt, and the rhythm was there.”

Hazlewood said he would play the second ODI against Pakistan on Friday in Adelaide but that he and other Test stars would sit out the third fixture on Sunday.

“Everything’s falling into place,” he said. “It’s just a huge series. Every time we play India, it’s right up there with the Ashes. I think the crowds will be massive. I think the TV ratings could be huge. [There is talk] it could be the biggest ever.”

The post seems to be about Ashwin, a very capable finger spinner who has played during an era when the BCCI has frequently prepared rank turners at home. This strategy has had two main effects: first, it brought many part-time slow bowlers into play, with numerous visiting part-timers or average spinners achieving their maiden five-wicket hauls in India; and second, it limited Ashwin’s personal growth on truer wickets, like those he encounters outside the Indian subcontinent. This is likely why he had an average limited-overs career.

It’s a shame, as I believe that if Ashwin had been challenged to bowl on truer home surfaces instead of rank turners, he would still have been successful in Tests, and he would likely have developed the skills needed to succeed away from home and enjoyed a stronger limited-overs career.

Whether the BCCI’s rank-turner tactic was ultimately successful or not is a topic for another discussion.

Where is his voice against the seniors? Not a peep. Only picks on juniors.

Fully expect India to dominate this series. A result like 4-1 or 3-0 in favor of India wouldn't surprise me one bit. Kohli, Gill, Jaiswal, & Pant will shine in terms of batting while the fast bowlers will do well as a group with Bumrah spearheading.

Ponting doubles down on bold Border-Gavaskar prediction

The Australian great has delivered his predictions for the upcoming Test series between his former side and India.

ICC Hall of Famer Ricky Ponting has doubled down on his prediction that Australia will dominate the upcoming ICC World Test Championship series against India and nominated the players he expects to finish as the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker across the five Tests.

Ponting predicted a 3-1 triumph to his former side when quizzed on the series result in August and the former Australia captain still feels comfortable with his decision after watching India's recent series defeat to New Zealand and the loss of key pacer Mohammed Shami to injury for the upcoming tour.

Speaking with host Sanjana Ganesan on the most recent episode of The ICC Review, Ponting said the absence of Shami from India's squad would make it more difficult for the tourists to claim the 20 wickets required to win a Test match Down Under.

“Probably more so now (than before),” Ponting said about Australia’s chances against India.

“(Mohammed) Shami just leaves such a big hole in that bowling group.

“Back then (in August) there was still some conjecture whether Shami would be fit or not.

“I think taking 20 wickets in a Test match for India is going to be the biggest challenge. I think they'll bat well enough out here with the current group of batters that they've got.”

Although the Aussie legend admitted that India might sneak in a win at some point in the five-match Test series, Ponting stuck by his overall series prediction.

“I think India will win a Test match somewhere through the five Test matches," Ponting predicted.

"But I still think now, Australia probably look a bit more settled, a bit more experienced and we know that they're a very hard team to beat at home. So I'll stick with the 3-1.”

Moving on to the players we could see in the upcoming series in Australia, Ponting was uncertain about who the top-scorer could be, identifying two potential candidates for the top of the list.

“Leading run scorer, I'm going to go - Steve Smith or Rishabh Pant,” Ponting said.

He felt that the likely move of Steve Smith from the top of the order back to No.4 increases his chances of doing well in the Test series.

Smith’s brief stint as opener in Tests hadn’t been quite successful and ahead of the series against India, it was all but confirmed that the Aussie lynchpin would move back down the order.

“I think Smith, the fact that he's moved back down from opener to No.4 probably makes it feel like he's got more of a point to prove…that maybe he shouldn't have gone up to open in the first place and that No.4 is his spot and where he should have probably been the whole time and where he probably finished his career now,” Ponting stated, while also not neglecting the possibility of Pant pushing Smith at the top of that list.

“And with Rishabh back in the side and probably coming into bat in the middle order when the ball's probably lost a bit of its shine and a bit of its hardness and the form that he's in, I'll go for him as one of the leading run scorers as well.”

Among the bowlers, Ponting backed experienced seamer Josh Hazlewood to top the wickets chart.

While Ponting mentions all three players in Australia’s strong pace attack, he felt that neither Mitchell Starc nor Pat Cummins might play all five Tests, unlike Hazlewood.

“I think Hazlewood out of the Australian quicks, is right at the moment, is probably at the peak of his powers more than the other guys. So I'll go with him for the leading wicket-taker," Ponting said.

The first Test between India and Australia begins on November 22. The crucial ICC World Test Championship series is set to be decisive in identifying the potential finalists of the WTC cycle with Australia and India currently at the top of the table.

India takes steps to tackle Rohit Sharma's expected absence on Australia tour

KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel have been added to the India A squad for the second unofficial Test against Australia A.

KL Rahul is now a front-runner to open alongside Abhimanyu Easwaran in India A’s second unofficial Test match against Australia A after being added to the squad alongside Dhruv Jurel.

This setup appears to create a direct showdown between Easwaran and Rahul, both vying to step in for Rohit Sharma in the opening slot for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, should he be absent.

After the Mumbai Test against New Zealand, Rohit had said that he was unsure of playing the first Test due to personal reasons, although he didn't outright rule himself out.

"Right now, I am not too sure whether I'll be going, but let's see. Fingers crossed," Rohit Sharma had said after the third Test match in Mumbai.

Jurel and Rahul travelled to Australia ahead of the main Test squad to gain match practice with India A. Rahul is likely to open the innings in the second unofficial Test. At the same time, Jurel is expected to compete with Ishan Kishan for the keeper’s spot.

With Rohit's participation doubtful for the first Test doubtful, it creates a chance for Rahul or Easwaran to partner with Yashavsi Jaiswal in Perth for the match which begins on November 22.

If Rohit is unavailable, it presents an intriguing challenge for the Indian management. Easwaran, named in the squad as a backup opener, enters the series in exceptional form, with four centuries in his last five first-class matches. The right-hander boasts an impressive first-class average of 49.40 and has long been in contention for an India debut.

Rahul, however, was dropped after India’s loss to New Zealand in the first Test in Bengaluru. Although Rahul has mostly batted in the middle order in recent years, he started his Test career as an opener and would be looking to get back into the Test side.

Meanwhile, Jurel aims to prove his worth as a backup batter. Already established as a reliable wicketkeeper, Jurel now seeks to showcase his batting skills and make a case for himself as a potential middle-order option.

He debuted earlier this year against England, stepping up in Rishabh Pant’s absence with a crucial Player of the Match performance in Ranchi, where he scored an unbeaten 90*.

With several spots still undecided in the Indian team for the first Test, the selectors will be closely watching Jurel, Easwaran, and Rahul in the India A match against Australia A.

So india is not sure about easwaran after his pathetic display in tour game and testing out ever dependable clown kl again as an opener. management is not sure about pant fitness and wants jurel to be a wk at 6.They don't want to trust sarfaraz for sure .So they are in a complete panic mode and testing every possible scenario

Sarfaraz will likely get bounced out.

Sarfaraz will likely get bounced out.
Yeah atleast they can get any other solid player like sai sudarshan. He is good technically and can play at any position. Why to waste a spot.

It's time for us to try out new players in test matches against lower tier teams.
