India vs Austraila | 1st ODI | CB Series | Brisbane | 2/2/2008

The juniors should be good enough to replace the seniors based on performance. Simple enough.

Its simple dude, pick your best side. Its make the seletion much easier. I wont complain even if they loose then.

India was not going anywhere with the supposedly "best side". They still end up losing. We should be happy there are trying these youngsters at Australia instead of on a flat track in India which will only give us false info. Look how well Rohit played. He played better than pretty much everyone. Infact played better than Dravid played all season here.

Boss you are forgetting one thing, I am not opposing juniors keep them all and let them grow. Rotate the seniors along with the juniors. This was the best oppurtunity to mix youngsters and rotate the seniors. We blew it because of a few fat head blokes.

Laxman has not been playing ODIs for a long long time. Dravid has been in dreadful form in all forms of cricket recently. Infact he was dropped in India as well. Only person is Ganguly. But he was not replaced by some raw player. He was replaced by Sehwag. Only thing is India is missing Yuvraj Singh.

Laxman was in his best form. He should have been retained. Same with Ganguly. That would have kept the balance. Plain and simple. Dravid is 50-50 but he was anyways injured.

You are yourself saying that Dravid should be dropped because of his poor form. Then why not retain Ganguly and Laxman when they are in good form. That means form is not the criteria. See the falacy in your statement and the selectors policy which is BS. BTW Dhoni and Yuvi too should be dropped if you drop Dravid because of form. Confused?

Actually there is no criteria we select our team.

Dont know but i blame u jackal, u cursed us with your call for rain...LOL :D

Didn't you say form in Test is different from form in one dayers? When was the last time Laxman played one dayer? Criteria was to move on. Not even half the innings was over.. you already concluded these guys are useless. You should give them couple more chances before even passing judgement.

Tendulkar and Sehwag also played in this match. What did they do? They also got out cheaply didn't they. Infact Gambhir, Rohit made more runs than them.

Don't worry you have 3 more matches to whack us around. Probably it is going to be the easiest trie series for OZ in a while.

Yeh but its not everday that u get Sehwag and Tendulkar out that cheap.

Sure everything will be out by the end of the ODI series.

The decision is a done deal and we have a young team out there, good or bad.

I don't give two hoots about the end result of the ODI series, if we can find out which players can handle Australian conditions. That will be a huge gain.

Sure we are all waiting to see that. I want to see Sachin and Veeru fail miserably and let someone else do the talking.

This game was such a good chance for India to take the initiative with Hayden sitting out and they have thrown it away. Apart from Lee, no Aussie bowler really looks threatning. They have practically fielded only 3 bowlers with Knopp debuting.

Tendulkar disappoints in yet another novel way. What a SHAME, such a great batsman getting run out, hit wicket etc like a lame person. He was so much required to hold on on this wicket.

The other newbees just played gully style cricket "hit out or get out". all in all, this team really has not played like a team. There did not seem to be any method/plan to their game.

Commentators said.. pitch has a lot in it for bowlers early on. So 89 for 2 was more than a good score according to the commentators. But they collapses unnecessarily instead of stitching a partnership. They will learn as the series progresses. So let us not break our head over this one dayers. As long as India can find some good players i will also be happy. I expect India to finish 3rd. That's okay.

This is new trend in indian cricket, more to follow in IPL and ICL. I think India wont produce any test players any more after the Big 4 retires

Let us see where Dhoni & Pathan can take it from here. 9 overs to go? ( 45 overs total )

Come on man, show some passion as a viewer. Cursing is very much a responsibility of a sports fan

Sure, and once we discover one or two, they can focuss on signing AD contracts and forget about the game.

I expect India to finish 3rd. That's okay.
Thats not OK at all especially against the current Aussie and Sri lankan team.

Didn't Pakistan cry their heart out and ask for India's support in Hair's issue? Last i know they were involved in a first Test ended in forfeit.

Man Brett Lee is single handedly winning matches for Ozs. Rest of the bowlers except MJ were ordinary

Yes if you take Lee out their bowling attack looks ordinary. But how well he took the lead from Mcgrath. But Mcgrath is more intelligent. We still have to wait and see how Lee performs on flat subcontinent pitches.

then we played ODI series with sportsmenhip with england

didn't cry over it

194 all out thier young talent is looking bleak

Indian are dependent on GANGULY DRAVID and SACHON too much

they won't be around in 2 yrs time then what will happen to Indian god knows

Every team will lose lot of players. Thing will become even. It is not like other teams are brimming with promising players. Atleast Indian bowling looks promising.

nah you are exaggerating. well atleast i am happy with the way both sharmas are playing and with experience they will only get better.

Australia also depends on couple of players. Infact just one bowler to be precise. Lee.

I think we are going to lose badly in this series.

That or we'll have a new generation of superstars.

One way or the other, some answsers are coming.

Whatever it is.. India should look for a pool of batsmen just like they have a pool of bowlers. They rarely get chances.

all depends on how Sri Lanka plays. If they suck, then this is a great oppurtunity for the young players to gain experience given the length of this series.

Dhoni and boys...all the best...Try your best...Aussies are good..but try to give a fight.

Gilly opening with James Hopes? I would have thought clark.

Hope Gilly doesn't play those one of those freakish innings and humiliate INdia.. :)

2.6 Pathan to Hopes, FOUR, lovely shot, Hopes whipping a full one from off stump right through midwicket
2.6 Pathan to Hopes, 1 wide, as you can see with that wide one well outside leg stump
Pathan struggling to locate a length from which to operate.
2.5 Pathan to Hopes, FOUR, and again, he gets up on one leg and pulls backward of square this time, and with the man yards inside thats four more, top shot that!
2.4 Pathan to Hopes, FOUR, bang, thats four! Hopes swivels and connects superbly on his flat-batted pull in front of square leg
Pathan slipped in his follow-through. Its wet out there.
2.3 Pathan to Hopes, FOUR, firm punch to a fuller delivery, hit cleanly back to Pathan's left, and even though he took some pace off it the ball carries on past mid-on for four
2.2 Pathan to Hopes, no run, back of a length, outside leg stump, tucked to Rohit at square leg
The trick for India will be to control the swing in these damp conditions.
2.2 Pathan to Hopes, 1 wide, pitches well outside leg stump and thats called wide
2.1 Pathan to Hopes, no run, good length, on the money, and Hopes presents a textbook defensive

India :))) :)))

The pitch looks harmless when Ozs are batting. Shower of 4s

Unfortunately our openers wasted.. they had to see off Lee that's it. But couldn't survive.

gilly gone!

at least he's a consistent walker, Sreesanth barely appealed there

33/1

gilli gloves a crap delivery ... sree hardly appeals .. looks like the umpire wasn't gonna give that.. but he walks anyway.

:14: :14:

Why does Gilly always have to tarnish our reputation by walking, bad parenting ill say....LOL :))

Glad that Lee bowled the last over. else we might have been all out by 150

Ye Bharat B. waasis, tell me an indian player who would walk off like that

None. so? Thats no crime.

There are some Aussies who dont walk when they get caught in slips. They try to pull a monkey out of Bucknors.

There are some who claim dropped catches.

There are some who claim wickets for daylight bat misses.

So no need to get started on all this. Lets agree nobody is a saint here.
