they lack in quality bowling now days.![]()
Dhoni loses the toss again LOL
Australia bat first
Pujara in, vijay in, and sreesanth in ( expect a fifer from him)
Come on boys, Send ponting home empty handed
North Averages only 35 and still having chances in the 1st 11 for Australia??? Bit strange.
cricinfo commentary-
My colleague Nitin says: "Sehwag's batting might be violent, but everything else he does is very languid - be it fielding, catching or bowling. Reminiscent of Mark Waugh."
To be honest, most matches involving Australia are top draw. Oz England, Oz Pak (where they manage to win from nowhere) and Oz-India, all three are invariably interesting matches.Gotta say-
Australia-India is cricket's top draw by a long way! A lot of runs and still great fight , ideal for test cricket
Zaheer strikes !
Hussey is out, in comes Northy.
And what's with cricinfo and its Lala Amarnath stories.
Another one-
Let's start the session with another Lala story. From that wonderful writer and story teller Ram Guha via Kishore Bhimani: "A wonderful story is told of the arrival of the 1978 Indian team, the first to tour Pakistan in twenty-three years. As the team (which included both Mohinder and Surinder) and its entourage got off the plane, it was met on the tarmac by a bus and a Toyota. As the cricketers and journalists strolled towards the bus, one man strode imperiously towards the car. This was the team's manager, Fathehsinghrao Gaekwad, in his time the ruler of Baroda, art collector, wild-life enthusiast, Member of Parliament and a column of the international jet set. Not surprisingly, the prince assumed the car to be at his disposal. As he approached the Toyota however, he was shooed away by its liveried chauffeur, who pointed towards the bus and firmly said: 'Tum udhar jao. Ye siraf Lala Saheb ke liye hai' (You go there. This is only for the Lala)."

^^I though it was out too. Not sure what the Aussie commentator was going on about.
Panter still has no century in India right??? ,
I stand corrected. Replay looked out.Its not out if you play a shot and get hit outside the off stump.
62.5
Khan to North, no run, 138.7 kph, Shout for lbw turned down. It landed on a length outside off stump and tailed in late. North was pushing across for the defensive shot and was hit on the pad. It struck him just outside off. It would have hit the top of the off but more than half of the ball on impact was just outside off.
Originally posted by SQ from OZ: "If North gets another 10 runs, India better watch out. He'll get a century, letting the selectors think they were right for selecting him, and then he'll go on a 5 match streak of below 20 runs before hitting another century to save his place"
Admittedly Pak-Oz only since Aamer and Asif came in. They have been very interesting matches.
But yea, the point I was making is that most of the interesting match-ups in world cricket are made so because of the Aussies and the way they fight, even with their limited resources. By all rights and the team Ponting has brought to India, they should really be getting battered but they push the opposition all they way in order to beat them which is what makes the games so interesting.
Also, no Ashes?! Away from home, that's the most interesting match-up Oz have nowadays, especially given how much they care and how hard they fight. It's def the one that matters most to them.
Oz-RSA, Ind-Oz, Eng-Oz...there's a pattern there![]()
True. Its not Australia that makes the match a good one, its the effort of the other team.
From 2000-2008 except Ashes 2005 the finest test series involving Australia were all with India as we were the only team that used to give them a run for their money .
During that perior Aus-RSA, Aus-Eng, Aus-Pak,Aus-Lanka, Aus-NZ were all not exciting at all as Aussies would crush them all.
True.
But nowadays Australia create interesting matches because they can't dominate in the same way after the retirement of their greats but still manage to remain competitive.
Huge wicket from Raina to get Punter out.
Good captaincy from Dhoni.
