Aussie Having One the Most talented And One of the Most Sensible Batsman On the Crease in shape of Ponting and Hussey...

Aussie Gonna get around 320 If they don't loose anymore wickets in first hour of the 3rd session.

4th Aussies batsmen to get a start and then get out.

Punter wont be happy. Indians will be happy they have picked up 4 wickets so far today!

If India can bowl out the Aussies by close they will be over the moon!

North with his trademark solid front foot defence first ball.

Big innings for him and Oz.

Zaheer strikes !

Hussey is out, in comes Northy.

And what's with cricinfo and its Lala Amarnath stories.
Another one-

Let's start the session with another Lala story. From that wonderful writer and story teller Ram Guha via Kishore Bhimani: "A wonderful story is told of the arrival of the 1978 Indian team, the first to tour Pakistan in twenty-three years. As the team (which included both Mohinder and Surinder) and its entourage got off the plane, it was met on the tarmac by a bus and a Toyota. As the cricketers and journalists strolled towards the bus, one man strode imperiously towards the car. This was the team's manager, Fathehsinghrao Gaekwad, in his time the ruler of Baroda, art collector, wild-life enthusiast, Member of Parliament and a column of the international jet set. Not surprisingly, the prince assumed the car to be at his disposal. As he approached the Toyota however, he was shooed away by its liveried chauffeur, who pointed towards the bus and firmly said: 'Tum udhar jao. Ye siraf Lala Saheb ke liye hai' (You go there. This is only for the Lala)."

:)))

Ponting has looked in good touch on this tour. England better watch out.

cricinfo commentary-

My colleague Nitin says: "Sehwag's batting might be violent, but everything else he does is very languid - be it fielding, catching or bowling. Reminiscent of Mark Waugh."

Gotta say-
Australia-India is cricket's top draw by a long way! A lot of runs and still great fight , ideal for test cricket

To be honest, most matches involving Australia are top draw. Oz England, Oz Pak (where they manage to win from nowhere) and Oz-India, all three are invariably interesting matches.

Zaheer bowling bit short where Full length deliveries are more effective when ball is reversing..

True story I think, read it in Ramachandra Guha's States of Indian Cricket

Who's the Aussie commentator? Brad Hogg? He is soooo biased.

^^I though it was out too. Not sure what the Aussie commentator was going on about.

Aus-RSA is good but i wont rate Aus-Pak because of being low scoring encounters and Aussies winning always.
If only Pak batting could do well, that would be a very good encounter. You do compensate the poor batting with very good bowling. The only thing that sets up a Pakistan-Aus is your bowling and their bad batting and when that doesnt happen, its not a good match at all.

My top 5 match ups in cricket for tests-
India v Australia ( no team dominating, high scoring, close battles)
England-RSA
RSA-Australia
Ashes
India v RSA

Cricket is a batsman's game and when you dont see good batting in a match, no matter how good the quality of bowling is in the match its not much enjoyable.

Its not out if you play a shot and get hit outside the off stump.

62.5
Khan to North, no run, 138.7 kph, Shout for lbw turned down. It landed on a length outside off stump and tailed in late. North was pushing across for the defensive shot and was hit on the pad. It struck him just outside off. It would have hit the top of the off but more than half of the ball on impact was just outside off.

This would be my top3 at moment

1.any top 3 team vs new zealand in new zealand(with the pitches that new zealand had before 2007 and icc clout doesent force them to make flat pitches as they do now)

2.ind vs south africa in south africa

3.eng vs aus in aus

Admittedly Pak-Oz only since Aamer and Asif came in. They have been very interesting matches.

But yea, the point I was making is that most of the interesting match-ups in world cricket are made so because of the Aussies and the way they fight, even with their limited resources. By all rights and the team Ponting has brought to India, they should really be getting battered but they push the opposition all they way in order to beat them which is what makes the games so interesting.

Also, no Ashes?! Away from home, that's the most interesting match-up Oz have nowadays, especially given how much they care and how hard they fight. It's def the one that matters most to them.

Oz-RSA, Ind-Oz, Eng-Oz...there's a pattern there:misbah

I stand corrected. Replay looked out.

Originally posted by SQ from OZ: "If North gets another 10 runs, India better watch out. He'll get a century, letting the selectors think they were right for selecting him, and then he'll go on a 5 match streak of below 20 runs before hitting another century to save his place"

Well Said.

India All ready gone to defensive fielding.. Its like, India will be happy if they can at least draw this and win the series 1 - 0 to Aussie

Its not Australia that makes the match a good one, its the effort of the other team.
From 2000-2008 except Ashes 2005 the finest test series involving Australia were all with India as we were the only team that used to give them a run for their money .
During that period Aus-RSA, Aus-Eng, Aus-Pak,Aus-Lanka, Aus-NZ were all not exciting at all as Aussies would crush them all.

True.

But nowadays Australia create interesting matches because they can't dominate in the same way after the retirement of their greats but still manage to remain competitive.

Another good day of test cricket this has turned out to be so far. Good contest between bat and ball.

I hope North can get a decent score now otherwise it would put a lot of pressure on the Aussies regarding his position and you don't want to be tinkering too much with the side in the Ashes.

Great advert for Test cricket.

Hope people on here can put their blind hatred for India and Australia aside and at least respect them for putting on a good show in a format that desperately needed a shot in the arm.

Test match cricket will never die !

Rightly Said, Australia is not the same team having 5-6 All time legends in their team.. Warny Mcgrath, Lee, Gillespe Could change the situation of any match with their bowling..

But Now, Aussie don't have any players of that caliber, So, Now, they depends on strategic movements of the game.. They are still the best in terms of using Conditions, Match situations, And Opponents Weak points.
