Toss should be in around 10 minutes.

Like the recent England/New Zealand match, this has turned into a 4 day battle.

Ojha in for Bhajji - Gr8 News :)

Clarke has won the toss and will be batting first

Aus wins third toss in a row, Dhoni loses too many tosses :(

Will be crucial during matches like Pak ODI series where conditions n toss matter a lot...

India will win easily. It'l be 3 day match.

Expected aus score, >240 by tea time all out.

Really excited to see Bhuvi bowl. If we are to believe initial reports, conditions should suit him.

Also, what the hell does Ajinkya Rahane need to do to get selected? Shikar Dhawan was an ODI failure, what has he done to warrant his selection? Complete BS.

Rohit should be given a chance in Test cricket, he can't rotate strike much but good at blocking r playing shots. They always select him only for ODI n T20 :(

Because Dhawan is an opener , Rahane isnt

bs..u make it sound like its easier to get runs in tests
its much harder to get singles and even hit the ball..
and u do get moments like 10 overs 12 runs all the time and rohit got out just like that vs rest of india side 2 times!

from cricinfo : 8.15am The pitch is dry with dry grass, but there will be moisture from the rain yesterday. Matthew Hayden says this is a hard and a flat pitch, and opening batsmen will be delighted to see it. They are epxecting skiddly bounce, but it surely has less grass than a usual Mohali wicket.

Good start from Warner. Back to back boundaries for him.

Ball seems to be skidding off the surface

There is virtually no crowd to watch this game. ATM, Match being played on a ground with ghostly silence.

Hopefully at least by afternoon we should get some people to watch this match.

S Dhawan, M Vijay, CA Pujara, SR Tendulkar, V Kohli, RA Jadeja, MS Dhoni*†, R Ashwin, PP Ojha, B Kumar, I Sharma
.............................................. Bhajan is out :)

Umpires Aleem Dar (Pakistan) and RA Kettleborough (England)
TV umpire S Asnani
Match referee RS Madugalle (Sri Lanka)
Reserve umpire RM Deshpande

Watching such an important game between two great nations(in TV) on a empty ground makes for an uncomfortable viewing.

Why don't we get to host such tests on a traditional test match ground like Kanpur or Bangalore or Mumbai?

may be due to the early start crowds are sparse.

@fateh - I guess so(about crowd being sparse due to early start)

Pitch is a belter as predicted by many before the start of the test. aussies hsould easy score over 350 in their 1st gig. We need to introduce spinners earlier to see any purchase for them on this pitch.

i have hopes from Ojha .

Really dont see the need to make a surface which does not have purchase for spinners . draw it seems .

Lol Indian crew complaining that the pitch is not a rank dustbowl and consigning this match to a draw :))

Ashwin need to replicate his chennai/hyderabad feats here.

Already has made warner to miscalculate on length twice in this over.

Ishant Sharma now officially the worst bowler to have played 50 tests :))) . Kudos to bcci and dhoni as well :msd

There is no point in continuing with our pop gun attack on this track. Its time that MSD realizes that and introduces spin from both the ends.

After watching 5 overs from Ashwin, does any one feel this wicket might crumble on last day & produce a result ?

Wish India batted first. At least would have provided some entertainment for us.

Just saw the following tweet from Harsha and I don't disagree with him (early start or not, we never get to see even half decent crowd in Mohali even for IPL games. Only exception has been the WC2011 Semi final match)

not surprised at response in mohali. one of two grounds that don't get full houses at the ipl too. other? hyderabad (maybe due to size)
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) March 15, 2013

Dont worry mates. Ojha the beast will soon be among the wickets. Praise the lord for getting Bhajji to sit out of this one!

Bhajji actually could have been better here with the left handers

LOL Shastri putting Border on the spot about Border's comments regarding the suspensions. Border backtracking saying "well since then I've been told a few things I didn't know about regarding the state of the team...". LOL

45 mins to lunch.

Will we get to see Ojha bowl at least a over or two before that? or will we be torchered with Ishant's pies?

At last Ojha is introduced into the attack. Let's hope he gives us a breakthrough before lunch.
