There is No way this Australian bowling can take 20 wickets here and win , they can draw though.

Same goes for us as well. With our non-existing pace bowling and about average spin options on a flat track like this, getting 20 OZ wickets will not be easy.

Just under 10 mins for lunch.

OZ openers have built a solid base for themselves and the rest of the team :14:

100 for no loss

Was that a chance gone begging for Kohli?

Miss Dravid at slip cordon :(

109 for no loss at the stroke of lunch. Clearly this session belongs to Aussies.

Decent first session, possibly our best yet.

Aussie openers putting up a solid platform but Hughes also need to score big here when he gets his chance. He's due a bit of luck after the first 2 Tests. These conditions should suit him.

where the heck Clarke was planning to go? 1st ball he face he comes down the pitch to defend? Seriously? LOL

Jaddugeddon gets the wicket of Clarke once again

Whoa! That's 4 times out of 5 innings in India so far

Misses hat-trick :(

Jadeja has so far made his critics eat their words who questioned his selection in Test cricket. Long way to go, but still ......

Despite not getting any wicket so far, Ashwin's bowling has been much better today than it was in the 1st Innings of Hyderabad test on much more spinner friendly pitch(compared to this one).

Recipe for VVS commentary

50% of Athar Ali Khan + 30 % of Ranjit Fernando + 20 % of Wasim Akram = 100 % quality VVS commentary

Simply unbearable :(

Ojha has not settled with his line n length yet. Bowled too many leg sidish half trackers so far. Hope he gets into the groove soon.

edit: yet another chance gone at slip cordon.

who else? Virat again

You should use specialist slip fielders...

Unfortunately, ever since dravid retirement we did not have a proper slip catcher. Whether it is Viru or virat are all the same in terms of dropping sitters at slip cordon.

^^ Australia can very well crumble. But the first day wash out may prove important to this sluggish test match.

Hughes 70 balls, two runs, five dismissals = surely the Chris Martin of spin bowling.

As stated earlier, Hughes did not last long.

Smith is bound to play a few shots before crumbling.

Phil hughes's struggles against spin reminds me of certain devang gandhi and Vikram rathore of mid to late 90s indian test openers. These two aforementioned batters were simply clueless against even a half decent pace bowling. Struggled embarassingly in uk,sa and australia to score.

Continued selection of Phil Hughes is an absolute joke. The fact Aussie posters stick their neck for this guy and defend his inclusion is even more terrible.

Ed cowan looks locked out ! Needs to rotate the strike atleast against the hyped up jaddu

Khawaja always looked the better player but was never given a fair crack..

TBH, no indian poster here in PP hypes up jaddu. Its always been the non indian ppers who does that in a mocking way. Unfortunately for those mocking him, Jaddu continues to perform decently well to stay in the team.

For all the dislike that's been shown on steve smith over here and in cricinfo, he's been batting superbly so far.

He seems to have got the measure of this pitch and indian spinners.

Surprisingly tight over from Ishant

On the other hand, Ojha seems to be leaking more runs today.

Haddin can play spin so can Henriques so I see Australia posting a big total here..

Plenty of turn for a day 1 pitch? Not really a batting paradise as some have suggested

Indeed, after Clarke and Henriques, he has been the only one to put bat on ball.
