India vs Australia | 4th Test | Delhi | 22/3/13 | Day 3

Another lame appeal, followed by lame wrong appeal #comeintothisthreadguyRAiswaiting!

Haha Indian sledging us as we walk off the field. Fair play boys.

2 back to back very intense sessions (yesterday post tea and today morning session).

India not gonna get any easier when they bat their 2nd innings.

It will take a miracle by Aussies bowlers here to get India out for 100 , the pitch is not easy , but still 100 odd means just about couple of 40 plus partnerships and you are home.

It's been a good intense game. I miss the Angry Dwarf though he would have taken it to another level.

That's test cricket

Test cricket doesnt mean everyone has to go at 1.5 rpo. Sometimes a batsman struggling to cope with turn and all of a sudden comes down the wicket and hit a six is good cricket. There is some excitement and gripping play of cricket. :dav

India ahead at this stage

175+ might test them in the second innings

Yeah that appeal went for ever. Usually I cringe even when our players do it. But even they dont go on for a full 10 seconds. Some of the close in fielders such as Wade and Warner looked like they had a mini nuclear meltdown in their brains. #iamnothatguyeither

I remember a TV segment they showed a few times here in OZ during tea breaks a year pr two ago where Hussey admitted that most of the time he forgot to even yell a proper word in appeal, he just went "HWWAAAARRGUUURRRRYYYUUUUWWWWAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So Maxwell is a great test player right? since he came down the wicket and hit a 6 then 4 then got out right? 10 off 3 balls is better than 10 off 100 :) #t20logicatitsbest

I understand what your trying to say but when your 2-3 down with stumps looming its idiotic to try something like that.

Agreed. But that 175 seems a long way off from an Oz point of view.

Personally I think we need 200+.

India will chase positively and a single decent knock from anyone and a total of 150-175 will be chewed up with just a 20 or 30 in support needed.

Boom Boom logic.

I am surprised with some Aus commentators talking about 120 being a good score to defend here. That's a too low score. Aus needs to get around 200-250 to grab the game.

Peeps, even a score of 150 looks a very stiff target to chase on this track. Lyon and Maxwell will be deadly dangerous so will the pace trio of OZ.

Most of the time the players never have enough time to pronounce every syllable properly. And the strength og the appeal is in the loudness of it rather than what is being said. I remember how Warne used to appeal. Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Like his shirt is on fire :warne #legend

Newzealand got some good test batsman and with boult spearheading the attack they are a force to reckon with.

My 0.02 $

1) Australia will win the Ashes in OZ comprehensively; English bowling lineup lacks depth. Patto and Starc will bowl like :waqar and :wasim .

2) Siddle will take Aus to a challenging total and indian chase will be interesting.

:)) I didnt have Maxwell in mind when I typed that. I was thinking more of Azharuddin Ganguly, :sachin, Mark Waugh , Clarke, etc.

So can Jadu actually bowl? what is all this sir Jadu stuff?

India distinctly ahead now. They need another partnership like the 6th one to put up any sort of fight.

The only batsmen worthy of a nightwatchman in the australian team is Peter Siddle

Australia should reverse their batting order in India. Warner, Cowan et al should bat last.

If the lead crosses 150 mark then it will be anybody's game.

ATM, India s just slightly ahead but not by a big margin.

Anything over 150 is game on in this pitch if the Aussie tail can grind it out

:msd is giving easy singles to Siddle. Siddle maybe playing well but still cannot go defensive everytime a no.9 hits a boundary

Dhoni would never set a field like Mccullum did to Prior with Martin bowling on a flat wicket.

No they form a line up of nightwatchmen who protect the real batsmen down the order.

Just like Ashwin, Jaddu, and Ojha are taking the shine off the new ball so that Sharma can get some spin from the track :wahab

if siddle can score then why can't our batsmen? I think this pitch is not that bad for batting

Words of wisdom from VVS: Cant be too afraid of losing your wicket on these tracks because you wont be thinking of scoring. You gotta make it count because you may get a peach every now and then.

Siddle is the first batsmen ever to top score in both innings batting at no 9 I'm told

All about keeping the good balls out and putting the bad ones to the boundary also being patient and having the temperament to bat long periods, this is why Cook was so successful in India.

Siddle needs to be knighted, if Jadeja can why not Siddle, Sir Peter Siddle

The great Peter Siddle once again proving who the boss is.

Interesting lead now, but it isn't enough unless the great Peter Siddle backs up with a hat trick.

VVS has done what he preaches. His 69 at Mumbai was scored on the same principles.

Please.. Siddle is a demi god, one of the few australian players that would make the Black Caps.
