What's new

India vs England | 1st Test | Ahmedabad | 17/11/12 | Day 3

Yadav has bowled a good spell here. Last ball was 146kph and all his deliveries were over 140. He should've had a wicket off a waqar-esqe yorker but the idiot didn't even appeal.

Prior, my main man showing his class out there. Remember i told you, this guy should be batting in top 4. :zaka

Concept of batting with tail is useless in India. Go away. :))

Horrendous performance by England. At least show some fight, what a gutless bunch of cricketers they are. I rather beat a strong team than bunch of premedonas who fold like a house of card when put under presssure.

Let the whinning begin, can't blame them whinning seems to be the only thing the English are good at.

I think harsh to call him an idiot as noone noticed that it hit faint of pad.

I know it's harsh but he should've had the common sense to atleast appeal. It was a good swinging yorker and he should've had 2 wickets.

"Do you think Bell asked Flower to go the Indian dressing room and tell them he didn't intend to get out that way and he be called back? ---A tweet!

LOL, cracked me up ... Who tweeted this ?

Well, I'm awake and it's been a spin bowling masterclass today. I think any team in the world would struggle against this.

I admit that bowling has been nice here but England has played like it is a 5th day crumbling pitch.

There is no demon in the pitch, classic spin bowling from Ojha and Ashwin and some very ordinary batting from English batsmen. That's all. Pujara would still be hanging on here on 300 something.

There are plenty of 5th day pitches that don't offer anywhere near as much turn as this one is on Day 3. A look at the pitch maps of where Ohja and Ashwin are pitching it shows how well they're exploiting helpful conditions.

Although Bell's dismissal was reprehensible, I'm not going to criticise batsmen for getting out to quality bowling.

India batted well and scored lots of runs, but for most of the time they only had to face quality bowling at one end. That meant they only had to wait for the bad ball, which is exactly what they did. England have not faced many bad balls.

People complaining about a match being boring before it's been fully played out. The contest might be all but over but there's still every chance of something happening, even on a pitch where an apparent 90mph bowler isn't getting above shin height.

If it's that boring, folk can always clear off and seek entertainment elsewhere.

Sidhu on fire ! Haven't seen this kind of bragging from even the most biased commies ! Lol

I am confused. How are we not all out and well into losing the plot on our second innings yet?

its boring because there is no fight from one team even after 8 sessions of a match

What could the English be thinking right now? The best thing they can do is earn a draw but even then they'll have to play out 2.5 days to get it and they only have 14 wickets remaining.

Highly unlikely.

Ojha come on pick up a 5fer. Enough of living under Ashwin's shadow, you're better than him. :haha

Zaheer is becoming an embarrassment on the field. First he drops a dolly and now this.

Dhoni should be standing closer to the stumps... no carry at all.

Zaheer is getting some reverse into the left-hander but is struggling with line.

Some reverse swing now for the fast bowlers, batsmen handling well though.

I don't understand why Dhoni isn't bowling spinners from both ends

Zaheer showing his class with the ball, forget about his fielding. In these conditions, Zaheer is far better bowler than Anderson, Broad, Bresnan.

Brilliant exhibition of reverse swing bowling from Zak. Indians have maintained that ball well.

Ojha being given the chance to complete his 5fer, nice gesture.

Lol England are absolutely awful against any sort of quality spin. Astoundingly bad.

Broad and Bresnan have scored more than #2-#6 have together.

The bowlers must be cross with the batters.

Anyway, just pride to play for now. Maybe some of our blokes can dig in and get batting practice in the second dig. Everyone except the skipper, the keeper and Swann has something to prove.

Come back in the next test with the right side selected this time, and a better mental approach.

Revenge, sweet revenge! But I pity this England team! They should atleast look to how Ross Taylor counter attacked us in the last test at Banglore..

this match done and dusted...

better we prepare some flat pitches next match so match can go to 4th day

did anyone notice a man keeps running on the pitch everyday with sawdust ...i am seeing him on each day of this test match ..
that man has spent more time on the pitch than most english batsman !!

If England batters look to defend all time, I am sure they'll be demolished by Indian spinners.

You know India has won/lost alternate tests in Mumbai vs Eng since the 80s ?
So, It is India's turn to win there now lol. Also last win was a part of 3-0 in 1993.
Anyway, Dhoni is bordering on being Ponting with that 'spat'.

i think Dar must be telling the indians to chill out with the appealing. they have been over doing it at times. Dar has made a few significant mistakes in this game too.

Compton is clueless :)))

Give the man a chance! It's his Test debut and he won't have encountered anything like this before.

If there was a pitch offering this much turn in the County Championship, it would be graded as "poor" for offering "excessive turn," and the home side would be fined and have points deducted.

That's not a dig at subcontinental pitches, by the way, it's a dig at the ECB.

Graham Gooch was a good player of spin. :)
England looking slightly better in this innings.

Of course. I never wished him to fail. He might do well on English tracks.
