India vs England | 3rd ODI | Ranchi | 18/1/13

Relax, I was just pulling James' leg - he gets wound up far too easily.

England won 2-1. End of.

I wasn't responding to your post, which came after mine.

CJ really believes this crap when he spouts it.

The motivation for both opening batsmen should be to remain not out through such a paltry chase.

Rahane. You're bringing the pressure on yourself with these performances.

Lolololol made my day :nehra
sri lanka did well to get Australia out for 74.. But India Bhuvi Kumar and Shami Ahamed would have got them out for 25.... Buhvi is the best swing bowler in the world...better than anderson

Rahane's technique isn't up to scratch yet. Second time in a row Finn has done that to him.

30/4 would make it a good game. Just saying.

Gate between bat and pad - that was Rahane's undoing.

At least give the guy a decent shot at international cricket you don't want him to end up like Khawaja and Finch

He's been playing ODIs on and off since mid-2011. Hardly ever succeeded.

LOL typical bitter remarks. You lost fair and square.

When did i said we didnt get beaten fair and square.Read the post again.I said it was cook who played brilliantly and also he got some rub of the green going his way.Which part of that you dont agree with?

James you are a brilliant poster such posts are not expected of sir.

He got more bad calls against him than good, so that's an invalid point.

Rahane did impress only once and that too in debut T20 in england.. after that his performance is below average

time to give some chance to tiwary again.. best indian fielder and a decent part time leg spinner

Implication in original post was that if you change a few variables you can change the result. Didn't take into account that how good a batsman the captain is and how many catches are dropped by the other team are not just little malleable factors: they have a huge amount to do with how good both teams are as a whole. Sport is a singular totality of events, not a game of adding and subtracting parts of an equation willy nilly. Thanks.

his technique has been questionable.he has not got out slogging, bowlers have gone through his defence again and again
You need to understand this isn't 2011 any more a lot of players are doing the same thing, cut the kid a break.

Seeing Dirtbag bowl is like catching the cricket in slow motion.

Dernbach letting the team down again. What a surprise.

lol Jades economy doubled in 3 balls to more around his career economy :p

But watch get Kohliflower get carried away and give away his wicket.

Gambhir with his typical off-side pokes again. Gets him out in tests all the time.

You aren't Australia you guys don't have any bench strength in the bowling department.

Not much good is the Aussie bench strength if they fall apart post each game.

i dont think he is an opener at all.even for his ranji team he plays at 4 or 5 i think.

Dern bach sucks... hard to believe he took wickets against us. 3 consecutive boundries.

They've got plenty of good bowlers its the batting that's the worry for them they could field 2-3 bowling attacks that would be in the top 3-4 bowling attacks in the world.

Again i am praising your captain for winning a series in India. And also.telling that without him scoring your team wouldnt have won it.Just see in the last two ODIs cook didnt score batting floundered.

Good batting from India so far. This is the tougher of the three pitches that we've seen, but 250 was required first up. England will be given a lesson here.

My point was the bowlers are fragile. Siddle seems the hardiest of the bunch, but he's a test-only specialist.

Pattinson, Cummins, Starc, Harris - can't coax an entire series out of them if you tried. This year they've got 4 India tests, and 10 England tests. Good luck to them.

Not to mention Watson. King of getting injured, him.

You could also say without Dhoni India would of been thrashed in all 3 odis against Pakistan.

Yeah the youngsters are getting injured quite often atm but that's more because of the amount of cricket been played by the youngsters. Harris and Watson are just injury prone.

Boundary. If you're going to flash, flash hard.

Dont know what you are up to, he is bowling over 140s.

India edging their way to an easy win here.

Gambhir is a rubbish batsman IMO. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I used to love Gambhir from 2008-2010. Performed magnificently at home, in NZ and in SA. Top scorer in the T20 WC final of 2007, and the 50-over final in 2011. I put the underrated tag on him.

Sadly, it's all fallen away.

There use to be a time when he averaged 50 in tests then came the IPL and now what you see before you is a shadow of the old Gambhir..

One third of the runs knocked off with minimal effort.

Good spell from Finn. His hostility is only matched by his good attitude.

Unfortunately, the crowd have paid up to watch Dhoni bat.

Shame on you for not scoring enough, England.

We're scoring boundaries off of them, but all our batsmen are suspect against the short ball, across all three formats.

There's an argument for Cook to sack pretty much everyone except KP, Tredwell and Finn after this debacle.

Any batsman is susceptible.to.a good short ball.Gavaakar Boycott all.said.that no.one likes a short ball. Some play it better.Kohli Dhoni Pujara seem to play it well enough.

Have written him off as another flat track bully tbh very ordinary against the moving ball.

That's all you need to be a good bat in this day and age I hear.

almost all our current batsmen are weak against moving ball :junaid
not sure what makes :msd todo better than other FTBs who have better techniques

Does Panesar not play ODIs? Makes no sense resting a bloke who hardly features in non sub-continental tests.

Batting down the order lol... why don't you think Dhonis' not moving up? They'd be more opportunities to get out with the new ball if he batted at 3 or 4.

97 to get off 225. Heck that's real easy.
