Needed Dhoni here. The collapse stopper. Need his ice chill attitude in this unstable/unreliable batting order.

He scored 100 and 96 inj the Joberg test and averaged 50 odd in his last tour in SA.
Against Steyn, Morkel and Philander.
Rahane is such a quality batsman. Can we please import him for our team?
We have better batsmen than him in Test. No thanks

Pretty sure he is better than Malik and Shafiq.
And better than all you batsmen against pace.
Younis Khan is better than Rahane at everything. Let's not go overboard.

Without Rahane and Vijay, our Indian batting would be soo garbage (current form wise), its shocking.
He's better than Haris, Rizwan, Fawad, Akmal and Maqsood and so, would be best suited to replace Younis or Misbah, when the old stalwarts retire.
He's not better than him against pace, that's clear as daylight
In Test? He isn't better than Haris, Rizwan, Fawad.
Only if we can have Wahab![]()

Younis averages 50+ in England and has a better record than Rahane in New Zealand too. We all know the state of Australian pitches these days but yes, Rahane was better in South Africa and Australia, albeit on easier pitches.
When you take their batting position into account, I don't see how can make OTT comments about Rahane being better than Younis at handling pace. Reality is that Younis trumps him at playing pace-bowling too.
Huh, sure? He isn't even better than Harry and Faddy in Test matches. Sooner you will realize, he can be equal to Shafiq, but not better
Yes, he is. Have any of those three even played enough to warrant a comparison?
Fixed.
Bro are you serious?
Yep,i am serioius. He isn't better than Asad Shafiq.
Some weird comparisons going on.
I think in the next 2 years, things will be clear.![]()
Mani don't know what to say.
Ok who is a better batsmen against pace than Rahane in pakistan? It was my reaction too when some said he is better than all our batsmen against pacet
Well, as sensible bro said in 2 years we will have clear results bhai
How much they have played? How many Test matches by Harry, Rizzu and Faddy? It's not their fault because we have best players right now in shape of Shafiq, Missi, YK in middle order.
Why don't we letChachaCricket decide this.
Who is etter at handling pace- younis or rahane?

I don't think I said something wrong. Rahane has performed in all fast bowling friendly countries.
Wrong, he failed in England. Younis and Rahane have a comparable record in those countries but Khan has been batting at #3 while Rahane bats at #5.
He failed in Englandsensible-indian-fan
Without his century at lords India would have lost 4-0. Yeah he din't perform as well in other tests but no one did.
Team was mentally shot.
Did Younis fail in South Africa?
He din't but he was average.

Hehehe, can Rahane do this?
Actually battler is right.
You don't have to go overseas to see how each play.
See the technique against pace, the time they have, etc.
Rahane is better than pace than even most Indian batsmen of the past.
Can you name the last time, a player (any country) averaged 48.5 outside Asia on his FIRST TOUR? Anyone. I don't think even Tendulkar has those stats. Modern era, past era, any era - you can try and find a batsman who did that. Very hard to find one.
Rahane is that good (against pace). To expect Shafiq and co to outdo it (which while not impossible) is improbable when you look at the way they bat.
But against spin, Rahane ain't all that.
Umar Akmal first tour to NZ his avg was 63 in 3 matches, and for a source : http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...;spanval1=span;template=results;type=allround
Now will you say that UA is better than Rahane??? Hell no, UA isn't even better than Dhawan tbh
That's why i said let's wait for some years and we will have clear picture, these small samples can't decide any thing. We have seen many players in the past who started of brilliantly ( like UA did ) but then what???
Rahane is a technically sound player, but Shafiq is too. Let's end this debate here and wait for proper time Sir because currently Pakistan is going good and my man Vijay is playing brilliantly.
Was he trying topad the ball away?![]()
What?
You are using 1 series of Akmal?
Rahane played 2 tests in SA, 2 in NZ, 5 in England and 4 in Aus.
That's 14 tests.
You are using 1 series of Akmal to do a comparison?
Do it for 14 tests or his first overseas tour and see.

Overseas cycle yaar. 1 tour doesn't mean anything. See my past posts.
Pujara did well in SA but flopped in NZ, Eng and Aus.

1 Innings?? may be i have some problem with my glasses tbh but i am seeing more than 1 innings, correct me if i am wrong sir
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...n;template=results;type=allround;view=innings
I can see 5 innings here on his first tour against NZ in NZ. Correct me if i am wrong.
When will this dhawan torture end? Can't even score at home these days.

^ This one? Don't expect me to infer that you meant overseas cycle and not "first tour" after making such a dramatic, bolded statement after a player's "first tour".
This five batsman talk only holds true in theory. Ashwin, Jadeja and Mishra are all capable of scoring fifty runs, each.
South Africa are the side that are truly playing five batsmen.
I thought you were talking about Debut series, my bad.
Fair enough. I meant that but should have said overseas cycle.
From the context, you could judge that it was cycle. Why would I compare Rahane with all past Indians based on 1 tour?
Harmer and Philander can bat too.
Not sure why you would compare him with past greats on one cycle, either. But to each his own.
Huh, sure? He isn't even better than Harry and Faddy in Test matches. Sooner you will realize, he can be equal to Shafiq, but not better
I can't even.....![]()
You shifted from London to Bhopal?
When was i in London ?
