But pitch is also flattening out a bit. It's not turning like yesterday.

"Subcontinent wickets are build on soft base with less clay contents - the surface doesn't "crack", it crumbles" - you can always survive on these type of wicket. This same wicket in AUS (well in "those" days), ball would have skidded with sharp turn at waste height from good length - apart from current PAK & may be SAF, no current team would have survived a full session there.

17 overs for today.

Ashwin-Jaddu bowled 6 overs.

 to some wonderful captaincy.

And by the way, get lost ELGAR.

Kohli's captaincy helped you survive this long. But stupid shot anyways.

Also Ashwin shouldn't get fooled by this Elgar wicket.

Needs to get his lengths even more perfect.

A touch below par which is hurting us on this track.

No vicious turn or variable bounce. Theres some turn for the spinners while a bit of reverse for the pacers too. Why were people whining about this pitch ?

Because most of them have seen only 350 in 50 overs matches. Probably in BBC achieves, I saw Asif Iqbal hitting 140 on 6th day wicket (those days they used to play Series deciders for 6 days) in Kingston against WI in 1976 - that wicket had 3 cm wide cracks on good length & some of the pieces were coming out with every ball.

Wicket down at both match.........

This is the moment AB prove yourself - hit a 90 ball 65. Bottom half 'll take the match out of disheartened Indians' reach.

Guys, its VERY HARD to give that out in real time.

Just watch the real time replay.

You need to thank BCCI for their exemplery services.

AB ji....batting like a tailender. Every Ashwin ball looks like a wicket. :))

But he still can kick on anytime.

Amla is so much superior.

But we got to remember that he has been on the crease lot longer.

Yesterday, there was a Mishra over where AMla was all at sea.

There were just 2 balls from Mishra that beat him.

AB, on the other hand almost got dismissed against both Ashwin & Jadeja.

Though yes omce he settles down, he will do much better against spin & score some handy runs. Need to get him now.

These are the defining moments of a Test - if SAF goes to lunch 3 down, most likely they 'll win this Test.

Big wicket, AB you failed man; got away with it twice, but you failed.

Wicket. Amla gone.

But INDIANS LET US ALL GO AND DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Stumping miss. Pure luck it hit the stumps.

AB should just shift to ODI mode and crack some 60-70 runs here. A lead of 100 means curtains for India.

Ashwin is 2 wickets away from reaching 150 test wickets.

This is his 29th test, btw

play shots against Jadeja..He is gonna bowl no balls anyway even if you get out..:))

SG ball and rank turners. If Australia bully with their batting on Aussie 'phattas' then nobody doctors pitches more than India to suit their bowling.

Are you Kidding ?

SA will struggle to get to India total , let alone lead

Lala if AB scores 70 runs quickly here the scores will be more or less equal, and another batsmen can also play a 40 runs cameo. But of course it depends on if they can stop losing the wickets.
Not easy pitch to bat on.

Some Pak posters seem to be more worried about the pitch than even SA.

I'm not worried about SA neither do I care about them. Just stating facts because some posters were pointing out how Australia create 'phattas' to suit their style. India is no different.

SA in big trouble here . They will bat last , India likely to get at least 300 in second innings

Ashwin is the best spinner in the world right now. He is consistent in all three formats , that is great.

Australians don't doctor their pitches and have no say in it.

Lunch

South Africa trail by 74 runs with 5 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

India on top here.
