Junaid Khan vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Only reason indian fans compare their trundlers to Pakistan fast bowlers is to feel good about themselves.

stop making facts out of thin air, asif averaged 24 with the ball in tests and sreesanth marshall averages 38. though their ODI stats are similar but thats a different ball game.

Zaheer has won us a world cup,won us a series in england and numerous home series in india due to his reverse swing.what has atg junaid 'wasim akram' khan done to be qualified as better than him?except win u two jamodis in india?
 
also... please call me when 'bhuvi' averages close to 30 in test matches, because currently he averages a legendary 40 :))) (even though its only 4 tests). Junaid averages 28 by the way.

Zaheer has 33 around Test Average
I dont want Junaid khan to have 33 Around test Average

Junaid khan test Ave in between 25-27
Odi Ave Under-25
 
as a Pakistani Fan
i Rate Rahat Ali as Better Left arm Pacer compare to Junaid khan in (Test cricket)

We also have Nasir Malik another Talented 21 year old Left arm pacer
 
Bhuvi is a good bowler but can be compared to Asad Ali or Ehsan Adil... because they are the same pace...

Asad ali is far better than B.kumar for sure
bcz of hi death over,s Skills
and dont forget Asad has best LIST-A Average in Pakistan by any pacer

By "flat" wickets, I mean in SL or in the UAE (unfortunately there's no cricket happening in Pakistan). Also, I'd like to see "Bhuvi" or Instant Karma... I mean Ancient Sharma... I mean Ishant Besharma take 5-fers on FLAT pitches.

India offers the flatest and I think Ishant took 5fer in his first match in india
 
It's difficult to compare these two with Bhuvan having played only a handful of matches. We'll be in a better position to judge after the South African series in November. Currently there's no doubt that Junaid >>> Bhuvan in Tests.

@HamzaSaen: you certainly haven't read my posts.... ajmal is my fav spinner.... and junaid is fav pacer among the upcoming bowlers.

lol at over hyping Zunaid. Let him first take 100 wickets, then talk about average. otherwise dont get pissed if I say pujara is better than Inzi or Anwar.

far better test bowler than Gul. Yes Gul can be compared with Zaheer in ODI and infact better than zaheer in ODIs.

But you are talking as if Zunaid has achieved a lot already in his career. dude, he is still new to his career. yes talented. hasnt done much yet. i bet half fit zaheer would have got a lot of wickets on the pitches Zunaid bowled in this CT.

check the stats... both Gul and zaheer average more or less the same in test matches, so the talk of being zaheer 'far better' than Gul in tests is BS.
 
B Kumar is like Kulasekra. on his day he would perform well but never become a good Test or all round bowler.

dont just go by stats. Zaheer won a lot of matches single handedly. a lot of great spells in test cricket. he was crap when he started.. hence his poor average. Second half of his career is excellent. someone who watched indian team closely can see that. ask the neutrals. dpnt just go by cricinfo. otherwise samaraweera has better record than miandad, inzi,etc., but everyone knows miandad and inzi are far better batsmen than samaraveera.

also quite similar to that Zaheer according to cricinfo's profile is as good as Akram :facepalm::facepalm: though I agree we need to let the kid settle. he is very talented and definitely a very good bowler, but long way to go...

a best average of 29.56 is not bad? anything more than 27-28 is considered mediocre... maybe its the standards they have set for themselves that makes 29.56 average look legendary :yk

Junaid isn't the New Wasim.
There is and always will be 1 Wasim Akram.
Amir and Junaid don't need to be branded as the new Wasim, because they are different to Wasim and they can be better than Wasim but every legend is unique and no cricketer is exactly the same as any other.

I specifically mentioned Sri Lanka and the UAE because I don't rate players who perform only in their own country. India and SL play each other almost every other day, and at least 40% of those games take place on flat, Sri Lankan pitches. Can't this trundler take wickets there?

Also, WI is not really known for its flat wickets.

Ishant has played 122 international games whilst Junaid has played 40 international games. Yet, both the bowlers have three 5-fers each! I expect Junaid to have at least 8-10 5-wicket-hauls by the time he reaches 122 international games.

And by the way, all three of Junaid's 5-fers come on SL/UAE pitches. Ishant, on the other hand, has 2 in WI while 1 of them is in his own backyard, India. :facepalm:

Junaid's bowling average is still deadly. Also, I expect him to make a strong comeback. I stand by my comment, that Junaid>India's entire bowling attack combined.

Playing in the UAE is different from playing in Pakistan. It's like India playing their home games in Nepal.
 
Junaid is a fine prospect, but let him take 100 or 150 wickets and then we will judge him. What's the point of hyping his average at this point. Plus averages aren't everything. It is the impact on the game or on the mentality of the opposition a particular bowler has, is what makes him great.

There were lot of WI great bowlers who did not have good averages, but facing them was very difficult as described by batsmen around the world.

Zaheer at a point was very good both with new and old balls and was consistently India's go-to bowler. His performance in WC 2011 was also very good.

Pakistan has played 142 ODI matches, 12 test matches and 12 T20I in UAE, which is much higher (more than double the nearest rival team) than what any other team has played here. If India has similar familiarity playing in Nepal, it would be their second home too.

No bias here. Watching Junaid has made me happier cricket viewer so far. So, Junaid for me.

That said, I won't be surprised if Indian workhorse gives him a good run for his money. Bhuv is a smart bowler, a great find for India.

Sad to say but the truth is Junaid was our most ordinary seamer - both Irfan and Riaz were better than him.

I agree though that Junaid will have to bowl out of his skins to beat that average, because he bowls in powerplay and death overs, something which Bhuv doesn't do.
Oh that reminds me, Junaid can also bowl at the death, Bhuv ain't a death bowler :yk

Junaid Khan bowls on super green and bouncy pitches of UAE and SL and gets 3 5-fers already.The other highest-wicket taker being Ajmal. Tells so much if you want to understand.
