you're asking for too much there....we'll need add more resources on this side...

options:
:inti upset for coach removal
:moyo upset for ban - but may not fight much
:misbah :bhanja upset for drop

or we need to involve bigger people, :altaf link the issue with conspiracy against karachites.
Inti is not upset. He has danced with the devil himself by being appointed as the head coach of the cricket academy in lahore.

Good batting by Umar Amin. Finally, he's scoring runs!
I hope he and fawad go on to score heavily tomorrow.. C'mon Fawad..show them what you're worth! :D

Fawad needs to score a century tomorrow and prove his 58 average is FC cricket is not a fluke.

I think he has already proven by scoring 160 odd on debut in srilanka.. then his batting order.. shuffled :p dont know y ..

good good batsman :) treated the same way as we do with good talent ... hopefully he ll be in good books of some influential ppl...thats more important here

I'm really worried about Butt on this tour. He is one of our main batsmen - now that Younis and Yousuf won't be there - and we need him to fire. Getting out lbw to the same bowler twice, cheaply is not a good start. I really can't see him doing well against the likes of Anderson this summer unless he works on that area of his game. I really do hope he sorts it out otherwise I don't see him scoring big, which we desperately need him to.
Good to see Umar Amin and Fawad getting some runs out in the middle. Hope Fawad proves a point to the selectors with a solid knock in this innings and Amin gets a big one too so his confidence levels rise.

Good to see Aamer getting a 5-fer earlier on today. We've got quite a potent attack with him, Asif and Gul. It is our fielding and batting that we need to improve on.

So did anyone figure out how Fawad is playing in this game even though he is not even part of the test team?

Apparently Hameed, Farhat and Azhar Ali haven't arrived yet (for whatever reason) - I think Saj confirmed this in another thread.

Thanks. I didn't see the other thread.

no body knows the exact reason over here...y he is playing ... may be a hint by afridi to selectors...by showing confidence in playing him

How come Farhat hasn't arrived?! :13: He was in the Asia Cup squad..and the team left for England from Colombo.. Didn't he go with the rest of the team?

Good to see Umar Amin finally get some runs under his belt. Hopefully Amin and Fawad will get 100s.

He was part of the T20 team that played in the match against MCC (PCB sent the T20 squad in first for that reason). When the Kent match started the test players who were not in the T20 squad had not arrived so T20 squad had to fill in.

oh .... so some players have not arrived ...

:) opportunity kahan kahn say atee hai only god knows ...

Lets hope these two get 100s, so that one guy who is not even part of test squad (Fawad) get match practice before coming back to Pakistan, and at the same time they either save Malik from getting out cheaply again or not getting any chance to practice at all (which he will probably prefer).

akistanis 360 and 86 for 1 (Amin 42*, Alam 29*, Mahmood 1-27) lead Kent 259 (Denly 63, Goodman 59, Aamer 5-54) by 187 runs with nine wickets remaining
Scorecard

Pakistan's teenage pace sensation Mohammad Aamer made the most of ideal swing-bowling conditions in Canterbury to bag 5 for 54 as the tourists dismissed hosts Kent for 259 inside 69 overs. By stumps, Pakistan reached 86 for 1 in their second innings for an overall lead of 187, this after 18-year-old Aamer had taken a lead role in dismissing a rookie county side in under three-and-a-half hours.

Though Aamer has only eight Test caps to his name and 21-first-class appearances behind him, he exploited hot, humid conditions in the first two sessions to cause havoc amongst the home top-order batting. Bowling his slippery left-arm pace from the Nackington Road End and down the St Lawrence slope, Aamer seemingly swung the ball at will and also nipped it around off the seam to create headaches galore.

In the face of Pakistan's impressive new ball burst from Umar Gul in tandem with Aamer, Kent slid to 33 for 4 only to fight back with half-centuries from Joe Denly and James Goodman, who hit 59 on his first-class debut.

It helped Pakistan's cause that heavy rain fell over Kent an hour before the scheduled start, leading to a 30-minute delay and high humidity once the match got underway at 11am. Both Denly and night watchman Matt Coles were fortunate to survive the first five overs, riding their luck the pair somehow posted 31 before Coles pushed inside the line of an Aamer out-swinger to lose his off stump and spark the loss of four wickets for two runs in the space of 14 deliveries.

Two balls later Chris Piesley, another first-class debutant, pushed at one from Aamer that left him and brushed the outside edge low to second slip. He went without troubling the scorers. In the next over, Gul rushed one through Alex Blake's gate to knock back off stump, then Aamer nipped one back off the seam to hit the base of James Hockley's off stump as Kent lost four wickets for two runs in the space of 14 deliveries.

Kent re-grouped either side of lunch with a fifth-wicket stand worth 89 in 20 overs between Denly and Goodman. Denly, who edged through and over the slips during his fortuitous 77-ball stay, reached 50 from only 60 balls while Goodman followed him to the milestone from 111 balls and with five fours.

The tourists regained their grip on proceedings soon after lunch when Aamer cleaned up Denly with a fast, full one, then former Pakistan Test allrounder Azhar Mahmood went for 28, spooning a pull shot against Gul to deep square-leg.

The impressive Wahab Riaz, a muscular 'hit-the-deck' style of seamer who might well revel on English pitches, bowled Goodman off an inside edge then Aamer returned for a third spell to send back Paul Dixey to another catch in the cordon that completed his five-wicket haul.

Though Kent's tail wagged through Mark Lawson (31) and Robbie Joseph (18*), offspinner Shoaib Malik came on to polish the innings off with a tidy stint of 2 for 27 that helped secure a first innings lead of 101.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good to see Aamer pitching it up and getting movement both ways hope the trend continues.Wahab also getting good reviews from Cricinfo guy, apparently Denly rode his luck for his 50.

Good signs.

Red-hot Aamer blows Kent away

Is this already somewhere?

Anyways, for all the doubters, saying he was too knocked over by this glory and all.

CANTERBURY: Mohammad Aamer took five wickets to leave Pakistan with an overall lead of 187 heading into the final day of three against Kent here at the St Lawrence Ground.

Left-arm quick Aamer finished with five wickets for 54 runs as a second string Kent made 259 featuring discarded England batsman Joe Denly’s 63.

Before stumps Pakistan lost opener Salman Butt lbw to Pakistani all-rounder Azhar Mahmood on their way to closing on 86 for one.

Aamer bowled nightwatchman Matt Coles early on Tuesday’s play before removing first-class debutant Chris Piesley for nought with a ball the batsman edged to first slip after it had moved away.

James Hockley was out for a fifth-ball nought when, playing no stroke, he was bowled by an Aamer inswinger.

Denly, who made fifty off 60 balls, was eventually bowled by a fast straight delivery from Aamer.

Pakistan will play Australia in two Twenty20 internationals on July 5 and 6 at Edgbaston before playing two Tests against the Aussies at Lord’s and Headingley.

After playing Australia, Pakistan will feature in four Tests, two Twenty20 and five one-day games against England. The tour ends on September 22. -AFP

Score summary from the three-day tour match between Kent and Pakistan here on Tuesday:

At Canterbury (second day of three):
Pakistan 360 (Umar Akmal 153; M Lawson 4-93) and 86-1 v Kent 259 (J Denly 63, J Goodman 59; Mohammad Aamer 5-54)

Good showing by Aamer.
All in all a very average performance against a county team. Just hope Afridi and co get something out of tomorrows play. Umar should be kept as low as possible down the order. Afridi in next and give Malik, Kamran a go too if it gets to that point.

I've been checking the scores out and it seems like we've done pretty well. Putting up 360 on the 1st day of this 3 day game against Kent and then dismissing them for 259 and now being 86/1 with 1 day left. Bowlers have done well Aamer in particular with the 5fer and the rest chipping in. Hopefully Amin and Alam get some runs and more importantly spend some time in the middle.

Well played Umar Amin.!!! Delighted for him and this little partnership that has build up.

Can we pull of a win here today? Time is off the essence!

Requires attacking cricket :afridi

AMIN seems to have a gear-box,started innings pretty slowly but now he seems to have put foot on the gas and this innings would give him confidence he needed atm

this game is not abou winning just get some good vatting time in the middle no need to push Aamer and Gul anymore in this game.

Good batting by Umar Amin. Hopefully, he'll be able to give some valuable performances in the upcoming international matches!

Ahhh I am happy to see amin scoring a 50 I hope he goes to 100 and keep the form.

Winning the match is irrelevant.

Pakistan need to make best use of adapting to conditions and match practice.

Little? It's 100 runs partnership. That's rare when Pak is batting. :14:

Aamin.

Alhamdulillah.... My Pray for Umar Amin Worked.. He is going good. :) :14:

Fawad Alam should be in the squad for tests i reckon - a debutant centurion away from home, should be him in over Farhat

Fawad alam should run out amin and himself go for 100. this is the only short cut i see for him to be squad.

Maybe if Malik fails continously then Pakistan may see sense and replace malik with Fawad! :)

Fawad gets his 50, Afridi should declare after Umar Amin gets his century. Let's bowl them out (or atleast try to).

The lead is only 254 right now. I don't see your scenario playing out any time soon.
