LOL! they'd let anyone play cricket these days? I don't understand why haven't I gotten the call?

The Lahore Qalandars squad is totally different from the one they had in the PSL.

Razzaq and Imran Nazir will play for LQ in this tournament.

Because majority of the players are busy in playing domestic these days. But no doubt LQ squad is very weak as compare to others. On top our matches are with strongers teams like Hobbart and Yorkshire!

Two other teams in LQ group

mak36 zulfiqar Babar really rates Ali Majid. In an interview he said if Ali Majid varies his pace and develops his leg break he will be unplayable

What happened to Sajjad Hashmi? They said he was part of the squad on twitter.

Zulfi's comments about Majid needing to develop his leg break echo what I have previously said so good to hear he is getting the right advice.

From what I have seen Majid varies his pace pretty well. It's more a case of hitting the right length (at times he drags it a little short).

Lahore Qualandars vs Yorkshire Vikings | T20 | Abu Dhabi | Oct 4 2018 | Match Thread

Time for some more Pakistani cricket !

Let's get some action going here !

Shaheed Afridi and Mitchell Mcclenaghan along with zulfiqaq babar should be a strong bowling attack

Sohail akhtar captaining the side with Abdul razzaq as deputy .

Imran nazir will open. Yorkshire is bringing their full natwest t20 blast team so it is a very strong side. Let's see if our boys can cause an upset!

LQ vs YV.jpg

Lahore Qalandars have won the toss and will be bowling first.

Yorkshire’s team for tonight’s clash is as follows: Lyth, Kohler-Cadmore, Brook, Ballance, Leaning, Tattersall w, Bresnan, Thompson, Shaw, Patterson c, Poysden.

This Majid Ali has a very awkward action, hard to pick up. He needs to learn how to spin the ball though (key aspect), which IMO is going to hard with his action.

If he can learn to spin it and develop a good leg break, this guy is going to be a handful with that action.

Yeap, now getting smashed, he doesn't spin the ball much at all. They are playing him like a medium pacer.

Razzaq is embarrassing himself in the field. Pathetic.

Farzan is a classical legspinner.

His E/R is high because of the pathetic fielding.

Although the keeper Salt missed a stumping (off Farzan) he is doing a good job of marshalling the fielders.

Farzan rajas action is very similar to Adil rashid.

Has been playing in the last two seasons of LQ's PDP.

Has some very good variations and is handy with the bat too.

He is a spinner in the classical mould rather than a 'mystery' spinner.

Have you seen phil salt? How is he as a batsman i never heard of him..

Had a very good season for Sussex.

He will get better with experience. PCB needs to keep an close eye on him and he should be groomed at the NCA so he can be be ready for international cricket.Leg spinners are a rarity in international cricket and we can not afford to loose him.

LQ are a very frustrating side. They have good intentions but are rudderless. They need IU type management/structure to succeed.

Exactly! Those two guys in the islamabad united camp hassan cheema and rehan ul haq have been invaluable for the united and they have been instrumental for the united in winning the trophies. The qalandars need similar guys so that they can become a better team in the future.

Pretty much.

There's no direction to what they do. LQ's approach seems to be to try to please everyone, but the sooner they realise they're not a charity the better. Two things stand out:

1) They have (re-)discovered some good talent but they need to develop the basic skills of these players first. Start small and then expand the pool of players.

2) They need better player selection. Stop picking dross like Nasir and Razzaq. Even picking Raza Hasan last year was a huge mistake- he hadn't played any cricket in those two years and it showed.

Totally agree they seem to be working hard but these points you pointed out provide an hindrance for the qalandars to be an good team in the psl

Lahore Qalandars vs Yorkshire CCC Yorkshire CCC: 184/5 in 20 overs
Lahore QLS : 59/1 after 6 overs.

WOW!! Sohail akhtar seems so improved from where he was during the previous psl....No wonder every one rated so highly of him for his power hitting which we are getting to see today against a good international domestic team.

Lahore Qalandars have to be the worst of the lot from PSL.

In terms of fielding yes i agree but dont forget these players are not even domestic players ,these players were picked only from talent.Proper coaching will turn them in to better players.

Irshad gone! Joshpoysden14 gets him caught at long-on with a full toss. Gone for 30. 82-2 in the ninth. Big wicket and much needed. The target is 185

10.39pm Sohail given out following a boundary catch by Lyth at long-on off Poysden, but decision reversed and six given. Controversy. Yorkshire not happy. 99-2.

LQ need to strengthen the batting next match.

They got away with it today but they have a long tail and two passengers in Nazir and Razzaq.
