Mumbai Indians are the champions of IPL 2017

What has cursed RCB Team? This was supposed to be the highest profile team - Gayle, AB, Kohli, Head, Yadav, Watson, Rahul, Mills, Mline .........!!! The are certain to miss out now - 5 points of 9 game, including a lucky wash out SRH.

It seems RCB has turned into Delhi daredevils of the past. Massive names on paper but zero performance as a unit.

It seems RCB has turned into Delhi daredevils of the past. Massive names on paper but zero performance as a unit.

As they say - bad days come together. Their owner is also facing tough times - may be that instability has disturbed the team; otherwise this is a brilliant T20 team, particularly for IPL, which is played on batting belters, in smallish grounds & fast out fields. On top of that, their home ground is M.Chinnaswamy...........

RCB has got star power but no team work - I wouldn't be surprised if Kohli's captaincy is to blame . Warner is doing an amazing job with his troops and so is Smith . Mumbai Indians is the perfect example of how winning franchises are made

1 off 1 - i thought MI would easily win this but Gujarat looks determined to make into the playoffs now

The ball couldn't have gone to a better fielder than Jaddu and he hits the bulls eye as expected

Pollard is poor choice IMO.
should have been butler with either krunal or parthiv.

Wow to bowl a no ball first up and then defend the super over vs BMac and Finch is quite something.

Bumrah bowled 8 balls in the last over - a super over including one free hit ball and was able to defend 11 runs against Finch and McCullum , cannot do better than this

At least a competitive match by RCB to some extent (though no guarantee of win in this one as well!)

Seems like Mumbai is trying too hard to gift a consolation win for RCB! Will RCB be able to accept it :))

RCB are technically & completely ruled out of playoffs! There's no point in Virat Kohli (ABD and other big players) playing the remaining matches. If they still play it then its just for money. Hope at least the franchisee drops them for remaining matches to save the money & pay them only the base money! (Probably organizers will think that without them playing the TRPs for the matches is going to come down & hence force them to play!)

Guys did anyone watch RPS vs GL? OMG Ben Stokes just kicked some real good ***! Truely a Champions performance!!!!

I don't remember any IPL side having a worse tournament. RCB have been beyond pathetic this season.

RCB is done for the playoffs. It would have been good to see GL win today , that would have definitely bolstered their chances. I think 4th spot is between Pune and Punjab

Damn this tournament is in its 28th day and I haven't even seen a single bowl. How has it been like? Boring.. exciting... same old???

You should see a single bowl, then you can say u've experienced it. It would be quite a good match today. Pune fighting for the last playoff spot

Pune peaking at the right time. If they continue the streak they'd finish at the top

So Pune is beasting right now - won 6 of its last 7 and now 3rd place in the Table ! Couple weeks ago it looked as if they wouldn't even make it to the playoffs.

So this is how the points table looks like - Kings 11 has 5 games in hand - If they go on a winning streak they have an outside chance to make it in. RCB and GL are dusted. If Sunrisers start to loose and Kings 11 catch a hot streak, that'd be awesome. MI and RPS trying hard to finish 1st for the playoffs

2017 Points Table

Team Pld Won Lost Tied N/R Net RR For Against Pts Form
1 MI 10 8 2 0 0 +0.427 1,661/192.1 1,642/199.5 16

2 KKR 11 7 4 0 0 +0.725 1,853/205.4 1,802/217.3 14

3 RPS 11 7 4 0 0 -0.123 1,793/219 1,788/215.1 14

4 SRH 11 6 4 0 1 +0.659 1,787/195.3 1,678/197.5 13

5 KXIP 9 4 5 0 0 +0.228 1,410/161.2 1,464/17 8

6 DD 9 3 6 0 0 -0.094 1,423/179.1 1,318/164 6

7 GL 10 3 7 0 0 -0.323 1,657/190.1 1,714/189.4 6

8 RCB 11 2 8 0 1 -1.441 1,407/200 1,585/187 5

Must Must win for Delhi - They still have 5 games to go - if they win all 5 - they'd end up with 16 points. Possibly an outside chance - GL is done for this IPL

Rishabh Pant and S Samson having a ball out there ! These kids are quite talented ! Would love to see them graduate onto the international team

Absolutely! who would have thought of this. :))

Samson and pant just turned the game on it's head. brilliant batting display.

When IPL had started , I was one of its biggest critics but looking back now I can see how IPL has immensely helped Indian cricket. Watching these youngsters play with such mature and positive mindset and freely under the mentorship of the likes of Sachin , Dravid , Jonty , Moody and international stars - you can see what kind of mindset these guys would have when they transition into international level.
Pant , Samson , Nair , Rana - watching these guys sharing the dugout with Dravid coaching em is amazing .

Steve Smith has led RPS really well. Stokes has proven to be a good signing. RPS peaking at the right time.

RPS winning this makes things interesting , SRH does not look comfortably in the playoffs now

For the 4th spot , Kings 11 and DD have 2 more games in hand compared to SRH .
DD has to win all its games If kings 11 win 3/4 left for them and SRH loses even 1 of its remaining 2 - then it gets tricky

See you next year DD - you blew it.
RCB /DD/ GL def out.
4th spot mash up between SRH and Kings 11

Not sure, but looks like something isn't right in RCB team - 115 in 17 overs for just 4 is just not T20 in right way.

What a terrible IPL this has been - so many one sided
and meaningless fixtures. The whole thing is just becoming a bit 'meh'. If it carries on like this then it won't be long before sponsors start to say goodbye.

If Pune wins this season how will the authorities justify taking them off next season?
