Mumbai Indians are the champions of IPL 2017

Even though I like sunrisers, I want Delhi to take this one and step into top 4. Sunrisers are already looking too strong to end up in top 4. Time for Delhi to shine

SRH has a gun bowling attack. Chasing 190 against them is no joke. BK/RK will be very hard to hit.

I want all 3 young Indian batsmen to succeed.

Beastly 100 from Amla, proved himself to everyone who were saying he is slow and hindering the pace.
 
Take out the boundaries + boundary balls, Amla made 36 runs from 46 balls which 78% strike rotation. Impressive...

Even McCallaghan and Malinga got smashed. Death of fast bowlers is already here. Now it has become mandatory for every team in every league to have at least 1 wrist spinner, preferably 2 of them.

This was a 230-240 pitch.

Look at the strike rates of MI batsmen to the strike rates of Amla, Axar and Saha.

Kings XI batsmen played way too slowly.

Bumrah bowled @ 7.5, malinga is getting old mumbai need to pick johnson and see if he still has it we are a long way away from fast bowling dying ,losing is 1 thing, but losing a game where you scored nearly 200 with about 4.3 overs to spare, i blame it on the sharmas, only reason to pick only indian pacers is if you have india's first 11 pacers and great batsman and spinners, if you pick the $hitty sharmas this is exactly what happens.

other than mclenaghan and malinga MI bowlers did fine, bumrah, pandya harbhajan bowled @ 7.5,7.25,6, hardik went for 18 in his 2 but he bowled in pp, yes this was a pata pitch but it wasn't 199 in 15 overs bad, that is down to bad fast bowling from KXIP

Not really , Bumrah bowled quite well on the same pitch . In T20 , 8/10 times batsman will come out on top

Its way over the top. Im fine with 180 totals and the once in a ... 200 score. But this isnt a contest anymore.

There really needs to be a balance.
Not that every guy coming in starts hitting 6s from the word go.

Nothing in the pitch for the bowlers. Nice even pace and bounce. Just swing through the line and time the ball. If you have muscle its an added bonus. Can hit humongous sixes.

Amla is already an elite test and ODI batsman, looks like he's getting there in T20s too. Still remember his 90-odd against England. Legend.

Riding on the popularity of the ongoing 10th season of the T20 cricket tournament Indian Premiere League (IPL), television broadcaster Sony Max (also the official broadcaster of IPL) became the most-watched television channel across genres during the second week of IPL.

Sony Max recorded 1,429.5 million impressions between 8 April and 14 April (week 15 of 2017)

The overall ad expenditure on sports events grew 24.63% to Rs3,510.8 crore in 2016, according to report titled Sporting Nation in the Making IV, jointly published by GroupM ESP, the sports and entertainment arm of GroupM and SportzPower, a sports business news company. Total sports sponsorship saw a growth of 19.33% in 2016.

Large growth in advert revenues. It means more well paid professional players, and even stronger national teams. Not only is the Indian national team benefiting, but also the Australian and English teams. If the WI board could find a way to work with its players, then the WI team would benefit too. The current weakness of the WI teams also stems from cricket losing out to basketball in capturing the interest of the youth. Well paid WI players are necessary for cricket retaining its popularity.

Difficult to root for one team over the other when your favorite national bowlers are bowling to your favorite national batsmen :)
 
Raina is the IPL MVP, he had a big role in the CSK success over the years
 
Great outing by Sakib - he has increased his batting average; worthy of my few hours .....
 
Next year with CSK and RR back it should get better. Gujarat has a very good fan following, most of their matches are sold out and seats are packed. It would be a crime to take their franchise away from them. I feel Kerala should also be back. We should play 10 teams in next edition with 2 separate conferences or just pack more games. Baseball players play 162 matches in 180 days. What is the point if having 20 players in the squad if we can't play few more games in the next edition with few more games squeezed in ?
 
I read Brendon McCullum grabs the orange batting cap. Who said he may be past it?

Looks like the best he's looked in the IPL for years, very relaxed. His SR of 150 is as good as I can remember it in this tournament.
 
Bottom 4 look quite likely to fight for the 4tg spot. Lions, Delhi, Punjab and RCB will fight it out and mumbai, sunrisers and KKR to def go in top 4

And in walks MS Dhoni, at No. 4. He's not been the old Dhoni though. His strike-rate of 87.14 is the worst among all batsmen having faced 50 deliveries this season.
 
Siraj bowling fast 143k, 144k. Dhoni was not able to do anything to a newbie domestic bowler.
 
Dhoni as usual feasting on mediocre bowlers and finishing... i'll wait for the day he does it against a bowler of the caliber of Starc or Rabada or Amir

Apart from rashid khan hyderabad's bowling quality has been horrible,even bhuvneshwar bowled juicy half volleys in death
 
Shocking really South Africans are such amazing cricketers who somehow never seem to win World cups.
