Mumbai Indians are the champions of IPL 2017

Another one sided match - lost interest even to track scores in CI after 1st innings. T20s are the most most boring format for 80% matches.
 
Was the Match sold out ? The crowd in Indore looked really pretty lit

Smith not playing today would be a big loss for the batting . Delhi needs to start winning , if they get left behind , they would miss out to the big dance
 
Samson killing it,will get to his 30's and get out ,doesn't have it in him to play the long innings what a waste of talent.
 
Pant needs to be in the playing 11 for India in this year. The guy is pure heart.

Pune doesn't have that bad of a team , their performance is sub standard so far.

I saw in the tweets thread that this is their last year anyway before the franchise gets disbanded

So what's the incentive to build a strong team for the long term?

Yeah I agree , Well Smith has a stomach bug.
If you can only play 4 overseas players that's fair but make sure you use them properly.
By buying both Zampa and Tahir you are bound to play them or that's wasted money. Now if Tahir and Zampa play that means only 2 other overseas player one of them is always Smith - so only one more Foreign player to be played.
Pune should have possibly only bought one of Tahir or Zampa - played an Indian spinner and used another overseas bat like Quinton or possibly Morris / Khwaja even Lynn in their team.

Yeah but if you are paying money to promote your business and spending money on auctions...wouldn't it make sense to build a proper team to get the necessary hype for your brand?

I mean, if you are doing something why not do it right?

Several reasons:

1. Cos they get more turn off the surface than finger spinners
2. Cos they can spin it both ways
3. Cos the above reason can make batsmen circumspect and get confused
4. Cos most batsmen are right handers who will play for the turn and miss a straight ball (that advantage even left armers have) but with leggies it can happen more often cos they will turn one or two deliveries putting doubts in batsmen's mind and making them miss straight balls
5. T20 has evolved where half tracker is a WAYYY better ball than a overpitched one...leggies can get wickets off half trackers (due to batsmen in pressure to score fast) which is supposed to be their biggest weakness
6. Googly - If you have a great googly, you can keep ruling the world till batsmen decipher your googly....left armers or offies don't have such weapons.....

Means there will be 10 new owners for 10 new teams?

Auction again, Icon player again?

Some other businessman could be owning RCB than Vijay Mallaya? And some venues like Rajasthan might not have a franchise at all and some new venue could have it in their place?

No,just Pune and Gujarat might not be renewed and probably many players will be put up in the pool.

There will be 8 teams. 8 owners.

As before.

These 2 new teams will go.

Auction will be there.

Icon player no.

Probably retaining some players will be there.

As of now, no info on incorporating 2 new teams.

He hasn't been great in recent times. He'll be 36 next year, with the likes of Pant and Samson coming up Dhoni will have to make way for the youngsters. Without playing international matches he won't good enough to play in next year's IPL. I'm sure he will still play but won't do well I recon.

INTL he is finished,imo after Champ trophy should retire on his own but probably won't.He probably has 2 seasons of IPL left in him before becoming mentor or something.

Vijay Shankar is the next captain of Chennai if not vice-captain. A person associated with one of the big 2 political part of Tamil Nadu is expected to bid for the Chennai team.

should be a good match , Kings 11 is playing surprsingly well - Maxwell and Amla are key
kolkatta lost the last game because of pressure they gave it away. Favs in this match - Gambhir , Pathan , Boult and Narine key for them
 
Yadav has definitely been a very improved bowler. What has he changed ?
 
Saha has become the threat for Dhoni along with Pant and Samson. Why go with 3 Indian pacers ? Should have replaced Stonis with a foreign bowler. KKR will chase this down.
 
Everytime I see Gambhir play for KKR , I feel he still has it in him to make a comeback , the guy shows definite passion.

RCB should be smart in team's selection. Useless players like Iqbal Abdullah should be kept out. You don't need 2 left arm spinners (and 3 regular spinners in total) in a T20 team. Gayle should still play, they have no other better batting options (If Rahul was there, he along with Kohli, ABD, Kedhar, Watson would be sufficient for Top 6) Without Rahul we need Gayle at top, Gayle should bat sensibly (his usual best way of staying quite in initial overs and then take on later)
 
Pandya brothers bowling quite well. 3 overs 14 runs Gayle's wicket
 
If ABD is finding difficulty to score, then its got to be tough pitch! ABD is the scale for pitch! Never ever in his life I looked him out of form (only pressure can get to him & law of averages/luck)
