Mumbai Indians are the champions of IPL 2017

Kedhar Jadhav is an absolute monster. Even with Dhoni and Yuvraj present, he's currently the most destructive batsman in the Indian team.

Well Jadhav better replicate those plays overseas otherwise it's got very limited for India

Nair looks very casual - his approach to the game looks like he doesn't care much

When somebody said few months earlier that Rishav pant is going to be next superstar of India, possibly, greater than even Kohli - I understand this now.

Fasttrack this guy into Indian LOI team already.

This is a cracker of a match ! Some help with the feed fellas , good links ?

Hang on. He's a good striker like Sehwag, that's it. Can't be trusted on testing tracks/ better attacks who can bowl short.

On flat tracks he is def better to Dhawan/ Rahane.

Did father's last rites yesterday, team in perilous moment currently with tail ender at other end and here is this guy taking everyone head on.

Heard he was able to read fizz last year too when everyone was huffing and puffing at her labyrinthine-esque spells. If every batsman goes through same procedure to get selected then it totally undermines one of the great reason to have first class in first place i.e. to scuff out talented individual. Look selecting him in our national team won't harm either him or our team in any way but not having him in our national team will, if you look at our national team set-up.

He is already much superior LOI batsman than say rahane. I don't quite get the aversion to the idea.

He is in ODI team already. Debuted Against English team.

Idiotic batting by Mishra, should have given strike to Pant instead of wasting the important 19th over.

Nair is useless.

16th failure in last 17 innings or so.

Nair cannot play in swing deliveries that are bowled closed to 140k,s.

He is thoroughly exposed now. He should stick to domestic cricket.

I would rather have someone like Iyer or Agarwal or Kedar Jadhav or even Pant in his place.

We should try Jadhav but dunno how he in first class in different conditions.

Rishab Pant is screaming to the LOI selectors, surprising always thought Sarfaraz ,Iyer or Chand would make it first to the team.

IPL 2017 | Day 5 | 9th April | Hyderabad & Mumbai | Matches Thread

Sunrisers v Guj Lions (16:00 local | 10:30 GMT | 06:30 EDT | 05:30 CDT | 03:30 PDT).

Mum Indians v KKR (20:00 local | 14:30 GMT | 10:30 EDT | 09:30 CDT | 07:30 PDT).

oh wow early games , just saw the score , Rashid Khan being a successful pick for Sunrisers.

Rashid justifying his IPL selection, a one sided match though.

Looking forward to match 2 now

Rashid khan proving his worth against big name players. He is minnow destroyer.

His googlies are too good.

Gujarat really lookking forward to return of Jadeja , their bowling looks so limited

Lookling forward to the second match - Mumbai would be my second fav team in the tournament after Pune

If hodge spends a bit more time sorting out his team rather than talking **** about kohli, his team won't be getting smashed every time.

Chance for Pandey to shine , Mumbai needs to win this to get back into the standings. KKR is full of confidence , if MI is left behind , they aint making to playoffs

Good to see MI finally looking stronger , Bhajji definitely needs to be in the team all the time and Malinga joining them back again is always a good sign !

Close game now 30 needed off 12 balls. 19 runs in this over from Boult.

I feel sorry for Boult , his last over was pretty good - Gave away extra 3 runs on the boundary and then missed catch - pressure situation a good learning experience for the kids

I just realised today that there are 2 Pandya's - didn't know they were brothers.
Can they replicate playing for India like the Pathan brothers

IPL 2017 | Day 6 | 10th April | Indore | Match Thread

The likely XIs

Kohli might miss out 2 more matches! ABD likely to get in. RCB is picking up!

ABD replaces Chris Gayle
RCB is batting first after winning the toss!

I'm looking forward to seeing AB bat again. Apparently, he picked up another injury just the other day? Getting old now.

Chris Gayle dropped by RCB, ABD replaces him. Could be fun tonight.

+1 ... it's been really long since he has played in any format.

He is a peculiar player, mixture of hand eye co-ordination and technique. @ 33 former trait might be deserting him!

NZ ODI's? Oh! Missed them. Feels like he has been missing since a long time maybe because of opting out of test matches which I watch/ follow regularly.

I honestly don't blame him. They took his test captaincy away and he's getting older. He deserves to be able to pick and choose what series/games he wants to play. He had an excellent series in NZ though.

Mccullum , AB , Gayle , Dhoni ... all these guys would still be playing tests if it weren't for the IPL.

Varun Aaron 2 wickets, 21 runs in 4 overs. Nice to see him bounce back after injuries last year.

:(
Wish I could have been there in the ground but Studies takes precedence.

My oh my! ABdV is just superhuman, those out of the ground sixes with such modest body frame is something for biomechanical nerds to cogitate about.

Every time I've seen this Vohra guy bat hes played some really classy shots, making effective use of the powerplay. Really is incredible the kind of riches India have in their batting ranks if this guy isnt even close to getting into their T20 team.

Rishabh will come before him.

Yeah, Vohra, Manish Pandey and many others can easily form a strong second xi for Indian ODI and T20 team. Good that with IPL they get to display their talent to a large audience as well as make decent income.

Now... if only the ICC can do such planning in running, strategizing, marketing and promoting test cricket!

All these T20 leagues have well laid out plans and run things very well. The least the ICC can do is take a page out of this and try to do the same for test cricket.
