Narendra Modi : Mega Discussion Thread

He is the best leader India ever had and probably will go down as one of the most revered global leaders of all time.

I can't stand that woman. And it has nothing to do with her views on Modi. She is the perfect example of biting the hands that feeds you.

She married her own brother so she could immigrate to the US. She broke US law by doing so.
And now she lectures to everyone. :)))

Manipuri Organisation Slams PM Modi’s Yoga Session at UN, Boycotts International Day of Yoga

“The Prime Minister left for the US on Tuesday carrying the message of peace but a corner of India (Manipur) is burning. People are unhappy at his continued silence and the absence of any improvement in the ground situation since May 3.”

New Delhi: The apex body of 36 civil society organisations in Manipur protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to lead a special yoga session at the UN headquarters in New York and boycotted the International Day of Yoga on Wednesday, June 21.

According to The Telegraph, Romeshwar Waikhwa, president of the Thoubal Apunba Lup, said that the protest was organised because the prime minister held the special yoga session “without considering the suffering of the people of Manipur since May 3”.

“We don’t need yoga in Manipur now. We need peace over yoga now because of the immense suffering of our people,” he said.

Over 300 people participated in the protest, according to The Telegraph, and several people displayed placards that were critical of Modi. The hour-long protest began at 8 am at the Thoubal Melaground, about 20 km from Imphal, according to reports.

Effigies of Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and chief minister N. Biren Singh were burnt, with the protesters criticising them for their failure to control the situation in Manipur.

Prime Minister Modi’s silence on Manipur, where ethnic clashes have killed more than 130 people, has enraged the residents of the state. On Sunday, the prime minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme was boycotted and some people even destroyed transistors to protest against Modi’s continued silence.

Waikhwa told The Telegraph that the people of Manipur “wanted the state and central governments to intervene and restore normality”. “The Prime Minister left for the US on Tuesday carrying the message of peace but a corner of India (Manipur) is burning. People are unhappy at his continued silence and the absence of any improvement in the ground situation since May 3,” he said.

The state government did not officially mark the day, in view of violence.

Americans View India Favourably But Not PM Modi: Pew Survey in 4 Graphs

The Pew Survey reveals a slight decline in India's favourability.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presently in the United States, on a visit that is expected to be a crucial milestone in Indo-US ties under his government.

To coincide with his visit, Pew Research released data of its latest survey on Indo-US ties on 21 June. Conducted among US citizens in March 2023, the survey focuses on Americans' view of India and specifically Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

51 Percent Americans View India Favourably

According to the survey, 51 percent of the respondents have a favourable view of India while 44 percent have an unfavourable view of India. These are further subdivided into those who are very favourable, somewhat favourable, somewhat unfavourable and not favourable at all.

It is significant to note that the overall favourability of India among Americans has reduced marginally from 63 percent in 2008 to 51 percent in 2023. The increase in unfavourability, however, is much more stark.

In 2008, only 14 percent Americans surveyed had an unfavourable view of India. This increased to 44 percent in 2023.

Do Americans View India Favourably or Unfavourably?

The percentage of Americans viewing India favourably has reduced from 63% in 2008 to 51% now. Those viewing it unfavourably are up from 14% to 44%.

However, India is still seen much more favourably than countries like China. According to the same survey, 83 percent Americans have a negative view of China.

According to the 2023 survey, 55 percent of Americans with a bachelor’s degree or higher view India positively, while 50 percent of those with some college or less education say the same.

Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents are also somewhat more likely than their Republican and Republican-leaning counterparts to see India favourably (56 percent vs. 48 percent).

Less Americans Confident About PM Modi

In the survey, respondents were asked 'Tell me how much confidence you have in each leader to do the right thing regarding world affairs – a lot of confidence, some confidence, not too much confidence, or no confidence at all. - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi'. This question was asked regarding other world leaders as well.

According to the March 2023 survey, 40 percent of the Americans surveyed said that they haven't heard of PM Modi. Among those who said they have heard of him, a greater proportion said they do not have confidence in him.

2023: Do Americans Have Confidence in Modi?

We couldn't make a direct comparison with past surveys on this question. The press release by Pew gives data from 2018 and 2019 on this question, but those surveys didn't have the 'haven't heard of him' option.

However, for the sake of comparison we have removed those who answered 'haven't heard of him', 'don't know' and 'don't want to answer' and considered only those who voiced their opinion. This revealed an increase in the proportion of people who don't have much confidence or have no confidence in him.

Do Americans Have Confidence in PM Modi?

Just for the sake of accuracy we have provided the 2018 and 2019 data separately as well, factoring in those who answered 'Don't Know or Can't Say'.

I don’t understand the questions- why should Americans have confidence in Modi? His country and its voters have confidence in him & that is the be all and end all of it.

India is the only former colony to be a major economic and financial power and that stands for its own interests instead of following the West.

Neither India takes aid nor dictation from any foreign power.

The present Indian stand on Ukraine conflict is an example.

The very reason why most Indians love Modi is the reason why many in the West hate him.

Its good in a way, the trip would be a little boring and bland without a few backlashes and protests...

Heard HAL & GE has singed a MOU on the jet engine transfer, that along with the building of computer chips would be the main highlight of this trip.

The full speech, for a man that is not a good English speaker, it is quite incredible how he memorized the entire 1 hour speech.

Now officially becomes the first Indian leader to address American Congress in America twice, and may also be one out of a hand full of world leaders to do so.

From modest humble beginnings as a young kid selling tea to one of the most powerful leaders in the world. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he had to grind hard, blood, sweat & guts to get to where he is now....

What an inspiration PM Modi is....

I was impressed years back when I saw he was able to speak in a different language naturally. For someone who does not have formal education , to go and learn a new language and be reasonably fluent at it at the age of 65 is an example for many. Granted he can hire best of support system but still this guy is a busy politician and it's hard to dedicate time for personal training and development. One may disagree with his politics but this aspect is a genuine case study.

I don't understand the fuss about using a teleprompter. What's the issue if someone uses one? Just because one uses a teleprompter doesn't make him inept at his job.

What Amazon, Google, And Microsoft Announced After PM's 'Hi-Tech Handshake'
Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have announced capital investments and technological cooperation for the growth of Indian technology.

Three US tech giants have committed to major investments in India following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recently-concluded state visit to the western superpower. Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have announced capital investments and technological cooperation for the growth of Indian technology.
While Amazon has committed to investing an additional $15 billion in India over the next seven years, which will take the company's total India investment across all businesses to $26 billion, Google has said it will open its global fintech operation centre in Gujarat.

Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella in his meeting with the Prime Minister discussed the power of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence, to help improve the lives of Indians.

"India is home to one of the most vibrant developer and start-up ecosystems in the world, and Microsoft remains deeply committed to the growth of Indian technology - that will impact both India and markets across the globe," a Microsoft statement said after the meeting.

Microsoft had last month launched Jugalbandi, a new generative AI-driven chatbot on mobile devices for government assistance, in India. It can understand questions in multiple languages, whether spoken or typed. It retrieves information on relevant programs - usually written in English - and relays it back in local language. The Jugalbandi AI assistant is powered by language models from AI4Bharat, a government-backed initiative, and reasoning models from Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.

You had to snatch the joys of gullible bhakts who were drooling over their feku's new 'found' literacy!

Alas, that was not to be. Its status quo, feku remains illiterate.

Think the most important thing to come out of this tour is the GE- HAL partnership for potential joint production of GE Aerospace’s F414 engines in India, that could be a big deal. Rest its all fluff, Biden banking on Modi winning again and so going out of his way to welcome Modi and opposition finding small things to show trip isn't as successful as it's made out to be.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with U.S. and Indian technology executives in Washington on Friday, the final day of a state visit where he agreed new defense and technology cooperation and addressed challenges posed by China.

U.S. President Joe Biden rolled out the red carpet for Modi on Thursday, declaring after about 2-1/2 hours of talks that their countries' economic relationship was "booming." Trade has more than doubled over the past decade.

Also present were Sam Altman of OpenAI, NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, and Indian tech leaders including Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, and Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, the White House said.

"Our partnership between India and the United States will go a long way, in my view, to define what the 21st century looks like," Biden told the group, adding that technological cooperation would be a big part of that partnership.

Observing that there were a variety of tech companies represented at the meeting from startups to well established firms, Modi said: "Both of them are working together to create a new world."

Modi, who has appealed to global companies to "Make in India," will also address business leaders at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.

The CEOs of top American companies, including FedEx, MasterCard and Adobe, are expected to be among the 1,200 participants.

NOT 'ABOUT CHINA'

The backdrop to Modi's visit is the Biden administration's attempts to draw India, the world's most populous country at 1.4 billion and its fifth-largest economy, closer amid its growing geopolitical rivalry with Beijing.

You have to almost always invert the agenda that the usual suspects try to peddle here. Even Kamala Harris was referring to notes when speaking and English is her first choice language. For Modi that would be Gujarati .... and they all know that he needs no teleprompter when speaking in his preferred native languages.

Also ever notice any of these Modi haters engage in a meaningful serious discussion ? That should tell you all that needs to be said on this topic.

Its not just here on PP .... its a standard behavior pattern on all Social media platforms. I'am yet to see one single individual who can hold a meaningful serious conversation without resorting to insults/barbs/abuse/trolling when difficult questions are asked.

I hate Congress like anything. But I don't go around trolling or abusing Sonia or Rahul. I just believe they are not worth my time. I can understand Indians not liking, or maybe even hating Modi or BJP. But the abuses and trolling are just nauseating. But I don't think I have the right to complain. I mean RaGa has suffered more trolling than any other Indian in the last 2 decades probably.

Because they don't have actual substance to talk.

The leftist cabal have long been an elitist group who looks down upon the ordinary Indian. Look up Vajpayee's speech in LS in 1996. Commies called BJP as cow belt party.

The likes of Mani Iyer or Sam Pitorda or Jai Ram Ramesh all represent this elitist mindset.

When short on substance hurling abuses is typical human behavior in order to save face. Anonymity makes this very easy to do. Rahul getting trolled is largely due to his own making but yeah I agree with you ... not worth my time.

Rahul getting trolled is due to his own actions but feku can't even be criticised lol? Andhbhakhts are the ones who go around abusing anyone who criticises the present government. And yeah they are the ones who make full use of anonymity and do these things because they know they can't be caught. :rabada2

I have seen andhbhakhts who treat Modi as Shri Ram and his two teleprompters as 'Luv' and 'Kush'. :91:

Youtube is full of shorts and videos exposing who is the bigger Pappu out of Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi. You have to open your eyes to see these things. Unfortunately, andhbhakhts can't do this. When someone like Ravish Kumar present facts these same keyboard warriors can be seen abusing him. What an irony lol. :inti

You are the very definition of dangerous and intolerant.

feku himself abuses his opponents with choicest of abuses. Have blind and illiterate bhakts forgot these insults their feku heaped on his opponents?

1) 50 crore ki girlfriend
2) Calling Sonia Gandhi widow with ulterior motive
3) hum 2 hamare 25
4) James Michael Lyngdoh

Don't ever argue with bhakts on facts. They'll first bring you down to their level and then....

3rd largest Economy is the next goal, which I feel will be achieved under PM Modi's watch after BJP wins the 2024 elections.

However once PM Modi leaves, I am not too confident on the rest to come. None of his replacements are as hardworking, shrewd, dedicated or business minded...

Next term 2024, will be PM Modi's final one...

That's the problem with andhbhakts. They always put feku on such a high pedestal that he can't be remotely called anything.

No one minds if Rahul, Kejriwal, Mamata or for that matter motabhai gets called names.

But all hell breaks lose if God forbid if someone says something unfavourable about feku. Bhakts just lose their bearings.

Propaganda or not, Modi’s popularity has grown undoubtedly to make one of worlds most recognised leaders. Whatever his ways may be, his persistence is a force to be reckoned with. This guy is undeniable and unstoppable.

Egypt's Order of the Nile, conferred on PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Sunday conferred Egypt's highest state honour, 'The Order of the Nile'. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi bestowed the award upon PM Modi in Cairo.

This is the 13th such highest state honour that various countries across the world have conferred upon PM Modi in the last nine years.

According to the Egyptian Presidency's website, the 'Order of the Nile' is a pure gold collar consisting of three square gold units on which there are Pharaonic symbols. The first unit resembles the idea of protecting the state against evils, the second one resembles prosperity and happiness brought by the Nile and the third one refers to wealth and endurance.

The units are connected to one another by a circular gold flower decorated with turquoise and ruby. Hanging from the collar is a hexagonal pendant decorated with flowers of the Pharaonic style, and turquoise and ruby gems.

In the middle of the pendant, there is a protruding symbol representing the Nile that brings together the North (represented by the Papyrus) and the South (represented by the Lotus), the website said.

PM Modi is on his maiden State visit to Egypt. His visit to the African country is the first by an Indian Prime Minister since 1997.

Modi is undoubtedly the best PM India ever had and that too by a long shot. The reason he could pull the country up in just 9 year stint because he understood the issues that kept India lagging behind during 74 year Congress rule. Among many good things, his best action was revoking Kashmir's autonomy and made Pakistan a thing of yesterday. As ironic as it may sound, India don't consider Pakistan as enemy anymore as it is perceived as yesterday's news. He used the parliamentary power to revoke the autonomy of Kashmir which was the hub for most nuisance activities in India. Great leader.

As ironic as it may sound, India don't consider Pakistan as enemy anymore as it is perceived as yesterday's news. He used the parliamentary power to revoke the autonomy of Kashmir which was the hub for most nuisance activities in India. Great leader.

Lo jee, according to bhaijaan, India doesn't consider Pakistan as an enemy anymore. Matlab kuch bhi? BJP's politics revolves around hindu vs muslims and Pakistan. Godi media loves to blame Pakistan for any bad incident that happens in India. Andhbhakhts loves to send anyone who is against BJP to Pakistan. BCCI avoids playing bilaterals against Pakistan even at neutral venues but according to our expert NRI, India doesn't consider Pakistan as an enemy. Waah bhaijaan waah. :91: :inti

^ Very amusing the total lack of awareness in this post ... the post is coming from someone who openly calls for jailing all indian citizens who have whatsapp profile pics of aurangzeb and churchill.

You are the very definition of dangerous and intolerant.

I asked you a very simple question on that Aurangzeb thread which you are yet to answer and I clearly explained that based on your answer we can discuss what should be the role of law enforcement entities. I did all of that in a respectable manner in an attempt to engage in a meaningful conversation.

Your response so far has been to take umbrage and start hurling accusations and labels at me which is the standard operating template of the left .

And then you wonder why the left wing numbskulls get ridiculed on SM. Good luck seek help.

Both BCCI and India has moved on from Pakistan. I know it hurts you but that is the reality. The only bone of contention between us was Kashmir and now that has been solved, Pakistan is a thing of past. It doesn't mean we are friends all of a sudden but Pakistan is almost non existent as far as India is concerned. Just like BCCI shown millions can be made even without playing Pakistan, GOI took India to 5th largest economy without keeping any bilateral ties with Pakistan. India has absolutely no reason to deal with Pakistan on anything and China is the new enemy of India.

Pot calling the kettle black. You also do the same thing. :inti

Lol at Pakistan is a thing of past. May be for NRIs it is, but for Indians living in India, Pakistan lives rent free in people's mind especially when it comes to andhbhakhts, BJP politicians and Godi media. Start spending time in India before posting nonsense here. You are too far away from reality when it comes to India. Pata shata kuch nahi par 'sab changa si'. :91: :inti

I am not talking about general Indian public but the govt policy which has moved beyond Pakistan. After article 370 was revoked it was done deal as far as GOI policy is concerned. That's why Indian establishment never bothered to respond to a single provocative tweet that came across the border.

You should know me by now that I don't post anything without basis. Check the video and watch from 1.10

Being the 5th largest economy its 'Sab Changa Si' as far as India is concerned but I have observed you getting very desperate these days (El Classico thread, Karnataka election thread, here etc) and trying to mask the hatred under smileys. Thand rakho...from 1st of July I wont be here to guide you.

That would be so much more convincing if you were't posting this on a Pakistan-based site.

Blah blah .. You ceased being a respectful poster in my eyes after you openly called for the arrest of your fellow Indian citizens. It reminded me a lot of current-day Pakistan where people get thrown in jail and handed death sentences for blasphemy. This is the future you envision for India - a hindu version of Pakistan.

I have answered your post in the Aurangzeb thread.

The amount of filth going on under Modi's watch lends credibility to Kejriwal's claim that Modi's only ambition is to be the richest man in the world. I wonder if all the dirt on him will ever properly tumble out, even with his ouster coming up in a year's time.

Filthy disgusting man.

The amount of filth this Nehru dynasty relative this leftist rag tries to pass of as facts is nauseating.

Kejriwal? What did the Supreme Court tell the Kejri government regarding Ads?

The Bench comprising Justice SK Kaul and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia categorically recorded in the order, “We were constrained to pass the last order only on account of the fact that the Delhi Government had thrown its hand up for contributing their proportionate amounts”.

It further noted, “if INR 1100 crores can be spent for advertisement in the last 3 financial years, certainly, contributions can be made to infrastructure projects”.

The excise duty scam.

The excessive expenditure on his personal abode

The less said about Kejriwal, the better.

How is our Arvind Kejriwal Kuttan doing these days ? Haven't heard much since he got busted with the 45 crore home renovation scam for his house....

What a speech he gave on Independence Day. We need a new show named 'Comedy Nights With Modi' on Indian television. :inti 😆

Police intervene to stop pre-G20 meeting after Modi criticised

Indian police have intervened to stop a conference where the country's prime minister Narendra Modi was accused of using the upcoming G20 leaders' summit to boost his party's chances in next year's general election.

A spokesperson for the "We20" conference said police sent a letter calling for the two-day gathering of hundreds of people to end as it did not have the proper permission.
Mr Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were criticised by some speakers at the event for using the upcoming G20 gathering of world leaders to try to bolster their chances in the 2024 general election.
He is set to welcome the leaders of the G20 nations - including the UK's Rishi Sunak - to India for the leaders' summit in September.
The UK's health secretary, Steve Barclay, was in India over the weekend for a meeting of G20 health ministers.
Almost 400 people - including activists, academics and politicians - gathered for the We20 conference, with issues like food security, climate change, labour rights, natural resources and rising inequality all being discussed.

We20 spokesperson Kavita Kabeer said the gathering was told it did not have the proper permission to take place in a high-security zone.

"We are shocked that we need to have permission to practice democracy," a statement by the organisers said.
It added that police tried to stop attendees from entering the venue for the gathering.
Delhi Police declined to comment on the We20 summit, according to the AP news agency.

But local media reported that Sanjay Sain, a police officer, said: "They had erected tents outside the building. And there was a considerable gathering of people in an area where Section 144 [prohibiting gatherings of four or more people] had been imposed."
Mr Modi's critics have claimed India's democratic principles are being put under threat during his leadership.

With a population of more than 1.4bn, the nation is the world's largest democracy.
The government has denied democracy is threatened, instead stating that it is robust and thriving.

thats because landing was already done and he was talking.. its like a post match presentation or a press conference which most of the time has less viewership.. Regarding his political future, here is how he is currently trending

China on Monday released the 2023 edition of its “standard map”, staking a claim over Arunachal Pradesh, Aksai Chin region, Taiwan and the disputed South China Sea, news agency PTI reported.

Good lord. This loser is gonna destroy India even more than anyone can imagine.

The worst PM and the most cowardly and spineless in history :poop:

This map comes a few days after he stood like a butler in front of the Chinese dictator.

Not even a tweet yet about the dead forces. Celebrated the G20 while this tragedy had happened...not sure what's there to celebrate. Thrid-class venue exposed by one shower, US apples' import duty slashed - basically continuing his mission of destroying and selling India so long as he can have a few photo-ops with world leaders for his lapdog media to present him as some world leader lol

Now he's gone into campaign mode. What a pathetic loser this guy is.

lol, if bhakts think that feku will win an election basis hosting an event in India, he is even thicker than I used to think they can be.
