If NZ whitewashes India then ill have a field day

They wont. India will win this test, atleast 3 in Australia and will qualify in WTC finals in the process. Unfortunately for you there will not be a field day.

Never thought this day will.come , that India will play for pride, team India will be very determined after the series is squandered NZ should not be complacent and go for the unthinkable,

NZ beat India
India beat Bangladesh
Bangladesh beat Pakistan
Pakistan beat England

NZ > India > BD > Pak > Eng

Their is no place at the top of the mountain for you, it belongs to me. You wanna stand tall, I will push you off the cliff.

Admit the truth, You wouldn't have stated this before the NZ series.

Prior it was all oh India will win, we're the best, We love our Indian cricketers more then our wives and children.

And now NZ was your first reckoning, Australia will be the 2nd and I will stay standing on the top of the mountain

LOL. You lose credibility when you make posts like this.

India couldn't beat NZ at home. Just so you know.

Last time Australia won a test series against India was when MS Dhoni used to be India's test captain. And I lose the credibility for saying we will beat Australia again?

Yes. Because your argument is fallacious as hell.

Time period correlations have nothing to do with the present situations at hand.

Same was said last time when we toured there. In Justin Langer's word "Never underestimate Indians"

It is an open challenge from me...we win this test and the BGT series that follows. Nothing can stop Bhartiya team.

No offence, But Indians overglorify themselves and their celebrities more then anyone else on the planet.

When Australia won the 2023 ODI WC, they barely celebrated it. Mitchell Marsh even put his feet on the trophy like it was no big deal.

Indians celebrated 2024 World T20 like there was no tomorrow. They indeed overglorify themselves.

It's understandable, Their an emotional cry baby nation habits. They can deny it all they want but it's a fact that Indians are very emotional people.

That is bcoz cricket is not a popular sport in Australia. Even when England won the world cup and they were playing live streaming in Trafalgar Sqaure, not many bothered. If and when England or Australia wins a football world cup for example you will see 10 times the celebration compared to what India did after world t20 win.

Again, this post may get deleted by admins as it is not on topic but open a new thread and I can educate you more on this subject.

If NZ wins this one too then certainly this would start the end of Rohit era as captain

Not going to watch. Will just check scores etc as I am working.

But India need to win to save face and defend ita honour.

But don't be so sure aus will beat India. India may raise their game. However if old washed up has beens like rohit fodder and kohli fodder play then yes 4 0 aussies

Jasprit Bumrah is likely to miss the third and final Test of the series against New Zealand in Mumbai. Bumrah was with the team when they began training at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, but all he did were some light fitness work and some fielding drills. He did not bowl during either of the training sessions that India had at the stadium.

It is understood that Bumrah doesn't have an injury, and it's not known yet if the team management wanted to rest him or Bumrah himself wanted to be rested.

Is he resting for bgt?

Or is he scared of kiwis.

Toss Update:

New Zealand have won the toss and have opted to bat

Teams:

New Zealand
(Playing XI): Tom Latham(c), Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell(w), Glenn Phillips, Ish Sodhi, Matt Henry, Ajaz Patel, William ORourke

India (Playing XI): Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant(w), Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj

Jasprit Bumrah is not playing this match as he has not fully recovered from his viral illness.

Looks like a win toss and bat first pitch. NZ got what they want. The pitch is also not a rank turner. It will turn as the game progresses but good to bat on day 1 and day 2.

Not sure why but Indian pacers reduce their speeds deliberately in Indian pitches. They would bowl at 137-140 kph overseas consistently but in India, those speeds would often be around 132-134 kph mark.

saving energy for BGT.
embarrassing display

or aus just inflate their speed guns.

looks like bumrah is rested. still they went with frauds like kohli and roro.

not cool. ah well. 3 0
incoming.

India is just trying to save their faces in this game. They have a white-wash to defend against.

I don't have any interest in their A-game.

It is a big relief for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner are not playing this game. centuries loading.

India has plethora of spin bowling all rounders, they should play all of them because batsmen are useless anyways.

Axar, Sundar,Kuldeep amd few more spinners in domestic cricket. We have plenty of player's to replace Ash and jaddu.

Lol looks like BCCI made deal with santner and Southee.
It doesn't make any sense to rest santner and Southee.

Yes. Your theory makes more sense than Santner having a side strain and a 36 year old fast bowler being rested before his 5th consecutive Test in a short span of time

Washu again got 2 wickets. What is gonna be the good 1st inning total on this pitch??

Washington is a ready replacement for Ash need one more spin all rounder for Jaddu and India is set for 10
More years

First Ashwin is the daddy and now Washington?

Both these spinners will get tonked overseas and they are the bare bones definition of medicore indian Doctored pitch bullies.

Ashwin is looking very off.
This pitch looks even tougher to bat on than Pune, a tragedy that Santner got injured.
But according to DK it could get flatter so lets see.

I think NZ have devised a strategy to win Test Matches in India (against India of course). India thrived all these days with non-existent batting and opposition teams couldn't exploit it (they felt Indian Team is invinsible at home and they were masked by this fake-fact!) All opposition teams needed to do was to bat positively & bowl intelligently! The mistake that most teams made was thinking current Indian Batsmen are at the level of Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag, Laxman...

NZ on the way to whitewash this series! A possible threat to test cricket confining only to Ashes in future and BCCI thinking to expand IPL (2 IPLs in a year) with Indian team no more dominant at home...

131/4

Have the bowlers forgotten how to get wickets or have NZ really prepared very well after their Lankan tour?

Watch how Rohit let the game slip off ? He is long past is prime as batsmen and Captaincy ability. He and Kohli should have retired from cricket after T20 World Cup at high and now most probably by end of australia series both will pushed out along with Ashwin and jadeja.
jurel batted superbly in England series, he should have replaced Kohli in this test.

Two absolute gems from Washer to dismiss Tom and Rach.
Been a good recovery since. India in need of a wicket now. 1 can bring 2 or 3

Failure of Ashwin and jadeja and still management refuse to replace them ,they should have never replaced kuldeep and Rohit and kohli continuous Failure with bat ,it's not like we don't have any batsmen, see India A in Australia , Paddikal, sudharsan ,Jurel and many but management refuse to give chance .keep on playing Rohit ,kohli and KL

Young's 71 is on par with Ravindra's knock in the 1st test considering the conditions.
Its been tough to bat on so far.
