Nice little nip back through the gate. Shaw would of seen Jamieson bowling outswing in the A games too.
 
Shaw's technique needs a major fix! These aggressive cute 20s and 30s are not going to work for an Indian opener. Should've defended that last ball but his natural instinct took over. Poor outings for both the openers in this series.

He is not like Tendulkar. I told long back. he is like Sehwag. Tendulkar had exceptional footwork. Only similarity is Shaw picks up the length quickly like Tendulkar. Better pull shot player than Sehwag.

He is 20 year old. First time in these parts. So give him some time. He was good as long as he was there
 
This bowler has a bright future. Very accurate. More accurate than Ferguson. 135ks consistently. Gets bounce due to his 6'8" height
 
Jamieson looks like a prospect.

Can bat and brings something with his height and accuracy.

Getting good carry.

Shaw won a u19 world cup here 2 years ago and has been here a month with A side. Hes pretty familiar with the place.

International game is a different level. Pressure level is different for an Indian as he must make it count.
 
Look at how Kohli respected the bowler and left those deliveries. These Shaws and Pants are too arrogant to do these basics right.

Boult, Henry, Lockie, Jamieson, Neesham and Santner seems to be the way to go.
 
better to persist with the likes of shaw, gill, agarwal than with kedar, shardul, dhoni, jadeja.

This Indian team is continuing the "tradition."
Ngdi, klusener, olanga,mendis,aaqid javed,brett lee & so many bowlers and so many batsmen performed very well against India.
 
Judgement is the key. He wants to score runs off of every ball as the commies say. He has to defend once in a while.
 
Its a murderers row of insanely talented batsman in this line up but the tail is quite long.
 
This shaw seems to be in a rush of proving himself or trying to live up to the hype.
This is resulting in failures.
Also in more hurry to make up for the lost time in injury and ban.
No need for him actually.
As much as I read about him, he need not take things that hard and take match by match. Things will be sorted out, he has the technique, game, age all in favor.
 
Feel for the fans who already dropped Rohit and Dhawan in their heads for Shaw and Mayank. They are clearly not ready yet, not writing them off but the amount of consistency and reliability Rohit and Dhawan offers is unmatched

Agarwal was never in ODI scheme of things. Agarwal is mainly opening here because of Test series. It would have been Rahul. They want them to get used to some international matches. Imagine these things happening in Test series.
 
Not watching it live so far. Is the ball moving too much that batsmen are getting bowled ?

He just started his career. With Dhawan at 34, he will have plenty of opportunities. And I don’t care much about his footwork in LOIs as even our main openers still struggle when the ball moves and so do the likes of Roy, Warner and Guptill. But to be a Test opener in SENA, he needs to up his footwork.
 
NZ still have to get 20 overs out of 3 batting allrounders. 1 of them barely an allrounder.
 
Indians were focused too much on pace. bowling 145k balls. Hardly ball moved for them. SLower you bowl at length you allow the ball to swing.
 
Don't think India have much after this pair.

Get Iyer soon and we should win.
 
Not India's day. Looking at the larger picture India's openers for Test have to start leaving the channel balls.

You won this already! Iyer has too much to do. Jadejas & Jadhavs are simply not good enough.

Mediocre performance by India in both the ODIs. Bowling is crap. Batting is crap. Fielding is crap. Clown deserves this humiliation.

Bowling is terrible ont hese pitches. They don't know how to bowl here.
 
If jadhav wins this match for India ,he will be set for another year..and rightly so..these kind of pressure is required to create a champion out of an ordinary batsman..
 
Just started watching, Rahul is dismissed trying to guide a ball when room is not there. Also, find that breeze is good for the seam bowlers of medium pace of 130+. Swing is there but not too much and 1st time' NZ conditons.'
slower they ball harder to hit - England type conditions.
How come Indians not bowled straighter in the last match.? Worst bowling performance in the last match.

As for this match, I think India have given 30-40 runs more than what they should've. This wicket looks like a 230-240 type one.

Our overall performance has been terrible, mate. Tells how important Rohit & Dhawan's contribution is to this mediocre lineup. The less I talk about Thakurs, Bumrahs and Kuldeeps, the better it is. NZ fought back like a champion team after the T20 humiliation and they deserve all the praise.
