Official Pakistan 2013 General Elections thread

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for NA-56, Mohammad Hanif Abbasi, was booked along with 700 supporters for damaging police bus and obstructing the cops from discharging their official duty, police said.
Police said a convoy of political activists led by PML-N candidate Hanif Abbasi was stopped from taking Benazir Bhutto Road for Liaquat Bagh where his party chief Nawaz Sharif was to address a rally.
The rally was coming from Rehmanabad and was stopped at Chandni Chowk as the road had been blocked for vehicular traffic.
They were asked to cover rest of the journey on foot.
The former lawmaker retaliated and started a quarrel with the police deployed at the barrier.
Akbar Abbas, police inspector, who was commanding the police unit at the security check point, tried to convince the PML-N leader but he allegedly refused to obey the police officer and insisted on removing the barrier.
“After the police refused to remove the barrier, the PML-N activists got infuriated and attacked the police bus,” inspector Akbar Abbas said in his complaint adding that the bus driver Jamil Akhtar ran away.
The angry mob damaged the bus windscreen and indicators (lights) and also obstructed the police from discharging their official duty.
Finally the police had to retreat.
However, the city police officer, Abdul Razaq Cheema, took notice of the incident and ordered the registration of a criminal case against the former lawmaker.
Apparently, the police are reluctant to take action against the accused, fearing revenge if he returns to the assembly.
Inspector Akbar Abbas, who was complainant in the FIR, refused to give any further details of the incident.
Another police officer responded in the same manner when asked whether the police would arrest the accused nominated in the FIR, he said: “Apparently, the police will not proceed in the case before May 11, but a report attached with the copy of the FIR has been sent to the election commission as it was a violation of code of conduct.”
When the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz contesting candidate Mohammad Hanif Abbasi was contacted on his cellphone, his personal secretary, who gave his name as Amir, said that Mr Abbasi was not available as he was addressing a public meeting at the moment.

He earned this dubious title during the 2nd Benazir govt 1993-1996, he showed a lot of interest in getting diesal quotas all over the country.

he was elected as head of the Parliamentry committee on Kashmir in exchange for his support for the PPP (he declined to become a Minister under a woman). Naseeurllah Babar worked with him in that period and this is what he said


NB: You have seen their performance as the NWFP government. Because of a lack of education and administrative experience, they have failed completely. Secondly, these people cannot see beyond their nose. Maulana Fazlur Rahman is promoting his brothers while Qazi Hussain Ahmed has brought in his son, daughter and nephew into politics. They say they would resign and then they backtrack. In fact, Fazlur Rahman has been so corrupt then when the federal government sent National Accountability Bureau officials to Dera Ismail Khan, Maulana immediately budged. This was when on resignations issue Qazi was saying one thing and Fazl another. Now he has prevailed upon Qazi to give up. Why Fazl was named Maulana Diesel earlier? He himself admitted it in front of the press that the charge had been correct. In fact, during our government, Fazl made so much demands that in front of him I asked Benazir Bhutto as to why he is not given the keys of the State Bank to get rid of him.

TNS: So, he is a very worldly mullah?

NB: Yes, all mullahs are worldly because all of them came through the madrasas and they haven't seen the better side of the life. When Fazl was the head of the Parliamentary Committee in our government he went to Frankfurt and stayed at a hotel and left a huge bill of shopping outstanding which our ambassador had to pay.

I am sorry actually I am in kazakhstan and weather transition is still under progress.few days cold and few days hot.On tuesday it rained after few hot days and weather changed again which leads to fever,flu etc
I was ill when IK fell and the tension made health go worsen.Still fighting with fever and flu because its not over yet.
Baalti is also ill i wish him to get well soon..Most IK followers are ill along with IK ;)
Yesterday was v.disappointed the way PTI leadership behaved.Doesnt carry on with rally.It could have made a difference.But it seems all PTI leaders just want to sit and eat the fruits of hardwork done by IK.
We need more active and better 2nd tier leadership in PTI.

the reason we are seeing all the media itching with a B and complaining about IK's interview and claiming him/pti to using his injury and that interview as part of the campaign (which they clearly arent, it was just a msg from the man to his ppl, he didnt claim mein gira hoon toh vote do... he said i have done all i could, now its ur turn)... media is twisting it coz they didnt get the bone (breaking news that is)... there are a few things that need to be taken in account for here...

1. It was an accident that happened, that's pretty clear and done and dusted...
2. It has its negatives and positives, it can help them or it can bury them... with our ppl's thght process anything is possible...
3. speaking of anything possible... lets assume for a minute that PTI is using it as a tactic then good on them... anyhting is fair in politics... other day there was news of pmln cheating and manipulating ppl to vote for lion by telling them IK is a lion etc etc (in villages etc where ppl can be swayed + using their patwari system or authority or power where they can) a news outlet got the wind of this but wasnt made a news story as it was claimed that all is fair in politics.
4. most of them are business's and they didnt get it when only duniya news got the exclusive, hence they are mad ... too bad... had you given a fair treatment to PTI all along, you would have gotten the exclusive...
5. media's corrupt ways will also be taken care off, once PTI come's into power, and that scares the KAKA out of them...

so having said all that... BOOOOO PTI BOOOOO you evil bunch.... i need a tissue box too now since u guys too bad... :facepalm: @ media

Thanks... drink lots of liquid, water (not cold) or hot fluids (soup etc)

take advil/tylenol etc and rest well... take a neem garam shower twice to freshen up... and think positive, helps alot...

i am right now feeling much better i think fever is done, gona take one more advil overnight, and then continue joshaanda and water...
 
Aik cheez jo is bikaao media ney uthaai hhi nahin keh the man didnt run from his country to get treatment, he stayed here in Pakistan... that in itself is a BIG UP... much respect...

I am an outsider to all of this. As much as I love Imran Khan, as much I was worried for him on the day of accident, I think interview could have been avoided. This is just my opinion.

Let us analyse southern punjab district wise...

1) Multan: On 148, 149, 150 n 152. We have SMQ, JH, SMQ n Ibrahim khan respectively n all 4 are better placed than their rivals atm. We're weak on 151 n 153, but hopefully situation will improve here as well, in shaa ALLAH

2) Lodhran: On 154 n 155 JKT n nawab amaan ULLAH khan... again both comparatively better placed than others.

3) Khanewal: On 156, 157, 158 n 159 Dr. khawar, abid khagga, zahoor qureshi n ghulam murtaza maitla respectively. On 156 n 157, Hiraajs are very strong so its highly unlikely we get any out of these 2!! 158 was a tough contest but was eventually tilting in our favor.... then unfortunately Pir aslam bodla (PML N candidate) died last night, so elections postponed there as well!! 159, again a tough contest but i feel maitla would, in shaa ALLAH, win.

4) Sahiwal: On 160, 161, 162 n 163, we have ali Shakoor, Yar Muhammad dhakku, rai hassan nawaz n aftab cheema.... except for aftab cheema, all other are in good position but its a neck to neck contest. Since, zahid iqbal has been disqualified, Rai hassan would in shaa ALLAH, win his seat with a handsome margin.

5) Pakpattan: On 164, 165 n 166, we have rao nasim, ahmad maneka n amjad joya. In shaa ALLAH In shaa ALLAH we'll bag all NA seats from pakpattan... PTI is quite strong there, maa shaa ALLAH

6) Vehari: On 167, 168, 169 n 170, we have riasat bhatti, ishaq khakwani, aftab khichi n aurangzaib khichi. We're weak on 167 but on other three it'll be one hell of a contest!! We can win all 3 n ALLAH na karay, we could lose all 3 as well!!A Tough tough contest expected!!

Unfortunately!! my consituency expertise go only as far as vehari :/ DG khan, rajanpur, muzaffargarh, layyah, bahwalpur, bahawalnagar n Raheem yar khan are out of domain :yk

Out off the 23 constituencies discussed by his highness rammu kaka, PTI looks like getting 17, so cheer up guys, In shaa ALLAH, khan jeetay ga :ik

Central aur northern punjab pe bhe ho jaey thorra analysis?? :asif aur han 25 to abhi south ki rehti hain jin ka raamu ko khaas pata nahi :zoni

Postal ballots are opened after polling cedes, yes?
Wondering because results appear to be out. I'm not sure of their credibility though.
 
Oh NO, Y R Gilani's son Ali Raza Gilani has been kidnapped after attackers killed his secretary. 5 others are injured.

May ALLAH keep him safe, we don't need this just before elections :(

Apparently he only had private guards at the time of attack.

Official turnout was 44 percent.

Infact only (100-45.67)= 54.33 percent votes were genuine in those electoral lists...

Hence :
44 (.5433)=23.90

That's why I said that in reality turnout was only about 25 percent..

Are the calculations right this time Mr.Einstein..??

Oa raamu tu ziada optimist ho gya ha.....

In these areas people vote the party which they think is going to form government and N league have more chances of it as Imran has himself ruled out coalition with any major party....

I hope PTI clean sweep but it depends on the turn out....

Any ways one more thing to look at from 2008 elections in Punjab

Q league got 29.18% of popular vote but only 28 seats..

PPP got 28.61 of popular vote but 46 seats..

N league got 29.11% popular vote and 62 seats....

So,Q and N league had almost same number of votes in their favour but difference in number of seats was huge......
 
I have a feeling that we might need another D chowk show some months later if we are not able to form government after these elections.....:(

It is a good rehearsal .....I think we will have Tahir-ul-Qadiri, Munnawar Hasan in our support too during that time...

I really wish we will be able to avert that situation before time....This can not continue the way it is going right now

What's the hurry, should have announced tomorrow night? (it has been clarified that it will be applicable from next elections). Zardari just wanted a feather in the cap that he gave overseas Pakistanis right to vote otherwise it could have easily been arranged for this election.

on a side note, there is a massive fire in LDA Plaza in lahore, 3-4 ppl already dead (falling from the top of builing similar to 9-11)... please pray for these ppl's well being and for them to get to safety, inshallah... ameen.

Good News : Allama Ibtisam Zaheer has assured his support for PTI in Sargodha

Allama ibtasam zaheer,markazi ameer jameet aahilhadess has assured his support for pti in sargodha...........,
in na 64, votes of jameet aahil hadees are real game changer,first mdm(mohatida deni mahaz) had their candidate in na 64.......but after seat adjustment with n that candidate was withdrawn..........however that desicion was taken by prof sajid mir..........and we all know he is in pocket of nawaz sharif,,,,,,,,
so when pti sargodha leadership approached hafiz ibtisam,he has asked all of his followers to vote for pti,
my friend from sargodha told me that his father is a hard core aahil hadees........he told me that he tried his best to convince father to vote for pti........but his father refused every time........but after getting instruction from hafiz sahib now he will vote for pti............;
after his support pti candidate in na 64 is in gud position............let us hope for best
