What's new

Official Pakistan 2013 General Elections thread

topall.jpg

As of now, The PTI has emerged as the second largest party in the elections, having grown in leaps and bounds over its 109,616 total votes in 2002.

Could a re -count of certain areas like Karachi etc have an impact on Pti or would it not make much difference ?

How could a phd, lawyer and grandson of Allama Iqbal lose to a corrupt politician? sad.

Musharaf must be cussing himself now, noora will go on revenge marathon.

I strongly believe there is a massive rigging going on in Punjab by PML-N. PTI need to catch these riggings and take PML-N to court.

PTI wins all 4 seats in KPK?

Clean sweep! Yes! Finally some good newz!

DO NOT MAKE This is into a Regional thread!

I have deleted some posts here about Punjabis etc and people who posted these should know who they are

More such posts and bans will follow.

Yaar.. the scenes in Peshawer. That could've been everywhere, in Pakistan.

Something tells me rigging happened. My friend is telling me in interior punjab and okara serious rigging has happened.

Election work completely different way in Punjab's rural areas which was the main difference..

What Jinnah said 66 years ago holds true till this day.

We need unity faith and discipline. Punjab needs to stand up and show it.

Read the following on another forum

sensible comments

I think there are two reasons for surprise here
1) PTI voter is new and is emotional and expresses himself too much, he's very visible due to which expectations build up. As compared to PMLN voter, who is not much into showing the world that he exists, outside of ballot that is
2) Most of PTI supporters are active online, and that's another reason why surprise is in online virtual world

so far i believe 2 very important things have happened
1) ANP's bilor openly accept defeat by PTI, and PTI is leading almost everywhere in KPK
2) ECP and allll other parties accepted that election in Karachi was not fair

lots of results are coming in
and i think there is a mistake by imran somewhat, he should not have contested on 4 seats (m i right? he contested on 4 seats), he could have given at least two to his other party members, so that no re-election would be needed on those seats and PTI could win them during this wave of popularity, after the first wave of results, people can change their mind when they see other party with clear lead in big picture

PML-Q have been obliterated - think there might be some reunification talks.

They voted for Nawaz Sharif
Let them get Nawaz Sharif

But because of some weirdos, sensible people who voted for Imran and wanted change (like you) will have to struggle. Totally sad. I myself have relatives in Pakistan who voted for IK. Unfortunately, they'll also have to struggle now.

:(

Brother Pakistan election sustem is based on regional system, so how do you not expect the rest of the voters to state the obvious.

Seeing how PPP have gone out of favor, PMLN should be very careful in coming years if they want to remain in favor. So guys don't lose hope like that, PML-N bound to do better at least to remain in favor.

No naya pakistan.
Wohi puraana pakistan.

Khaaq mein gai Khan ki mihnat.

Dengi brothers won. Cant believe.

Wohi pakistan wohi problems.
All same!

Nothing has changed!

As someone from Bewal(Punjabi) i am embarrassed that we voted for the corrupt and turned down a chance to change the fortunes of the country.

Overseas voting could have made difference but in the PTI got caught mostly among its internal issues rather addressing overseas voting..campaigning etc

But its not the same. PTI are actually in Parliament now. They can submit legislation, they can hold govt to account and will form govt in KPK. Its a solid base to build on.

Don't be too negative, what imran khan has acheived people can only dream off. He basically came out of nowhere and will inshallah win atleast arond 50 seats its not bad for a new party. And it should give us hope that despite all the corruption in these elections he has acheived his success in this election through nothing but a pure heart and honesty, you don't always have to be dirty to win and imran khan has proved that. He is better off in the opposition now and inshallah he can show the people of pakistan what they are missing by doing many good things for all the seats he won and in the next election his campaign will be much stronger, i hope the nation wil change their thinking patterns and mentality in 3 years time.

Yeah, true.

Hmm. That's exactly what my dad's saying.

There is some change, PPP is gone. PTI will form strong oposition unlike last time when PPP had free hand. And also we will get to see how PTI take KPK forward compared to ANP who have been rejected.

So change is there but not the one we wanted.

People should also need to realise that there was no way PTI was going to win 90+ seats, let alone win majority. There was no work in Sindh, no work in Balochistan, not much to influence the Bhutto clan in South Punjab. I guess we are ending up pretty much where we should have been for the work put in.

Plus Plus Plus, a BIG plus this one. Even if PTI had got 90+ seats it would have had to make a coallition with PMLN or PPP, which was always against PTI mandate. Therefore, PTI sitting in the opposition was always on the cards.

Almost clean sweep for PML N in punjab, I never expected them do that well

I thoug ISI and Army decide elections, why is Ganja still winning?

No one wanted to win this election because the country is so broken that they will get the blame when things don't get fixed immediately. That includes the Army too, hence why they let Zardari continue his one-man looting spree for a full five years.

Ganja is pro-LeJ and pro-SSP, and that will worry the US. Ganja has made deals with the devil and now these extremist terrorist scum will run riot. It's similar to the pact made by PPP with the land grab mafia, and see what that did to Sindh.

The Army will follow whatever US wants. The Army also has its own anti-Ganja vendetta when he dared to topple a four star General in 1999.

IMO, they'll let Ganja in for a few months, watch him fumble with the broken economy, see sectarian killings shoot up and law and order break down, and use that as an excuse to move in. Ganja will run away to his Saudi backers again.

12 months.

There was slight chance forming goverment with smaller parties but after what MQM have done today i hope not.

I wish i could go thru my tv screen and punch the light out of these two brothers, someone need to hurry up and make this technology.

Sher e Punjab, the new Ranjit Singh braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Guys, only a provincial seat holder can be chief minsiter right? Imran Khan can't be CM KpK?

The Army won't stand for Ganja as PM after 1999. I guarantee coup within 12 months.

Then that would completely ruin Imran Khan's hard work. You need continued democracy for people like Imran Khan to come to power. During this period of democracy, Imran was able to work hard to increase his seats. This election was too early for him but by next election his party has a good chance. If you interrupt democracy again, things will be back to square one and then after that, corrupt people will again come to power. People of Pakistan need to be patient, democracy is a long hard road, its not an over-night solution

Well they won by a huge majority, so you have give them credit. It was not even close
